Ba moved to China? What a waste of a career after leaving Newcastle.

Wrong, He was a part of the greatest footballing moment of atleast this decade while at Chelsea.

EDIT: I see many have picked up on this while I was writing this post.

Then you didn't need to actually put up the age. Anyway, point is Evans is a good defender. Maybe not the leader which we need in our back line right now but the way some people of here are reacting it is as if he was the Bebe of defense.

The point I made in that post was regarding the fact that he didn't improve as much as he should. Which he didn't. The fact that the age is wrong has no material relevance unless you read posts to get facts and trivia. I guess you were one of the guys who didn't like SAF's book because it got Stam's club (to which he was transferred)wrong among many other things.

As for Evans no one is saying he is really bad. All people say is that he is not United quality which is completely true. He can be an integral player for teams like Everton west brom and all but not arsenal and United.

You are right, I was just being pedantic. Again you make sweeping generalizations without even knowing the first thing about what I like or dislike. Have seen a tendency of this in your posts.

As for people not saying he is really bad, I guess you need to just see some of the reactions on here when that transfer tweet came out. He can be a good squad player for us. He may not be the first choice quality we need but he is not as awful as comments like "better news than Bastian signing" would suggest.

You get easily baffled/embarrassed then...
 Agreed, especially the whole being embarrassed part.

Embarrassed by the stick he gets from people who call themselves United fans after one poor season, yes. It's absolutely pathetic.

It's symptomatic of the growing swathes of armchair bell ends who populate our fan base and think they're authorities on the game when they've never attended a match.

Hating a player because he doesn't put a shift in or bad mouths the club? Understandable. But hate one because they struggled for form and fitness, having been good for us in the past and are as much a red as any of us are? That's more than a bit embarrassing.

Winds me up, as you may have noticed.

Nah didn't mean to offend you. Really sorry. Yeah I have seen posts like that. To be fair there are posts like that regarding everyone. I assume even Messi would have his own set of dislikers :p
Anyways sorry again. Cheers :)

For me the GK situation is as simple as ABC. "Anyone But Cillessen"

Give me Navas, Valdes, Lindegaard, the fat chick in row G of the Stetford end. Just please for all that is Holy do not sign that piece of crap Cillessen

Didn't they buy Navas not long ago to replace Cassilas eventually?
He'd be pretty pissed that someone else is going to leapfrog him straight into the first 11 if DdG is bought surely.

I think it's rather a case of them wanting to offload Navas, than us wanting them. They bought another keeper as well, didn't they?

As if they'll give a flying feck what he thinks.

How many times have you seen him play?

Don't believe Cillessen is the answer; he didn't look very impressive at the world cup.

Still hopeful that we would extend De Gea's contract with a reasonable release clause and let him leave next year. With the signings we have made, and are expected to make, keeping De Gea can be the difference between a title and a mere title challenge.

Unfortunately, there's no chance of De Gea signing a new contract. I'd rather milk Real for every last £ and go and buy someone like Lloris, Oblak or Leno.

I am pinning my hopes on an extra year with a resonable release clause that won't deter Real from going for him next season. SAF convinced Ronaldo to give us an extra year, may be VG can do the same with De Gea.

Don't know about the keepers you mentioned:
  • Lloris is not very commanding in the box and in his enthusiam to come out of the box can look stupid at time. I would rather give Valdes the number 1 role then sign Lloris.
  • Have seen Oblak in one game, and I suspect most of the people are touting him for us based on that game against Madrid. Was he able to replace Atleti's number one or did he get his place back when he come back from injury? His strengths/weaknesses?
  • Haven't noticed Leno. His strengths/weaknesses?
  • Cillessen simply doesn't look good enough for this club.

Oblak had a mixed season & is only 6'1". Was superb v Real, but earlier in the season was conceding every other shot on target. Would be a gamble in my opinion.

The idea of Cillessen being not good enough just on the basis of the WC(where he was actually pretty good) is very stupid.
