Transfer Tweets - Summer 2015 | Stop Spamming - Discussion Should Relate to Tweets

I think it's pretty clear now that United will struggle to get bargains out of anyone, everyone knows that we have a lot of money and that we are prone to paying up once we like a player so everyone is going to milk us
Yes, so we're making sure this summer that we actually negotiate which may make deals take longer but will hopefully help us financially in the long run. People moan that we don't just throw the magical number at clubs right away but then complain when we overpay.

Well we paid PSV tops 5m Euro more than their asking price (rumoured to be 27,5m-30m and we paid 32,5m), with his potential and the fact PSV almost had an agreement with PSG (was a matter of time) that is a bargain.

C'mon now. One inconclusive tweet and you're ready to say our club will 'give up' fighting against them? I can't imagine image conscious Woody letting that happen.
Nope I've thought from the beginning. Pretty much everyone knows deep down that we'll get bent over in this DDG saga. The more and more this goes on the less chance we have of bedding a decent replacement in before the new season starts

It's essentially to ensure that they are punished for inappropriate dealings in the transfer of a few youth players. This they did by impose a transfer ban which in effect should have been that they can do no transfer related activity.

Joke 1- on the pretext of appeal. They appealed in April 2014 but the decision came way after September ? (December if I remember right). They literally got a freebie summer where they were allowed to buy players that they want.

Joke 2 - a loophole which apparently states that all they are banned is from registration of new players with then till jan 2015, the intention of which seems prime facie to be that they shouldn't be involved in any agreements with clubs or players during that period. But now it's almost like every other transfer window for them. They keep negotiating players, attempt to buy pogba and the likes.

Maybe you agree with this 'punishment' but it doesn't seem right at all. It's like if United got a stadium ban for the next 3 European games (which happened to be CL round of 16 , QF and SF)where they have to play at OT without any supporters. Now they get a loophole whereby they could rent another stadium like Wembley for those games and as no ban is there for them to play at Wembley with supporters they do that and win the CL. They then follow the ban by playing behind closed doors for group stage games of the next year. Technically what they did is right but can you say that the punishment was served?

It isn't like that.

They can't play any new players until January, that's what the punishment is. They are allowed to buy players, it's quite simple.

I think Koemans quotes and Schneiderlin's 'illness' make this an almost done deal. I don't think he'll be on that plane tomorrow.

Not even De Gea or Perez 'know' anything at this point

But we're Manchester United, we shouldn't be shopping in the bargain bin. We aren't Liverpool

Interesting that you said that because I was about to add that it's much more easier to get transfers done with clubs like PSV than with other English clubs

You are losing your time, people wanted to see the FIFA shutdown Barcelona completely for a year.

For me it's a question of timing. Showing the world United won't overpay is fine when we don't need to do much strengthing, which would hopefully be the situation in future trasnfer windows. It's a bigger problem when we need several players and the season is a month away.

Very weird to see Ronaldo and Ramos on the far right/left.

Like they making a "future safe" ad. Because if they leave, you can just cut them out while not ruining the foto at all.

Why the hell would you put Ronaldo there, ramos ok, but Ronaldo?

If you want to piss of Ronaldo, then put Bale in the center and him in the back corner.

Well doesn't that make your argument flawed that we won't get bargains from anyone? If we're genuine about Schweinsteiger he won't cost us too much either, nor is the supposed fee for Darmian.

Ofcourse we have to pay more for a player who classes as homegrown and is proven in the league.

There was a story on Sky today that we're willing to listen to offers for Rafael and Napoli, along with Galatasaray and Fiorentina have expressed an interest. Seems like they aren't really in the running for Darmian. He wants a move to a CL club anyway.

Correct. Regardless of how we approach negotiations people will either moan that were talking too long/ why don't we just pay the asking price instead of wasting time looking for a bargain. Or alternatively we always pay over the odds/ no wonder we constantly get ripped off.

Imo it doesn't look like Schneiderlin is going anywhere else in a hurry. I have no issues with Woodward trying to get a few £m off the asking price.

We launch the bid tomorrow and he's ours on Wednesday/Thursday, then :). I thought Schneiderlin would be the first signing but this deal seems less complicated. Would be very happy with the signing of Darmian.

This is the line from the FIFA statement that imposed the ban.(http://m.fifa.com/governance/news/y...r-international-transfers-minors-2313003.html)

The Disciplinary Committee regarded the infringements as serious and decided to sanction the club with a transfer ban at both national and international level for two complete and consecutive transfer periods, together with a fine of CHF 450,000. Additionally, the club was granted a period of 90 days in which to regularise the situation of all minor players concerned.

The punishment for them is not able to transfer players and not merely restriction on playing them after transfer. The loophole was found later which wasn't the intention of the punishment at all.

El partido de las 12 wrote some tweets: Casillas talked to Lopetegui, he likes the city, the team and the project. He would go for free. Porto is willing to pay 1/3 of the wages that he has now (around 2.5 m€ after tax), Madrid would pay another 1/3. The club asked Casillas to quit the other 1/3 but he doesn´t want (at the end Madrid will probably pay it). The agreement would be 2 years + 1 more optional. Iker´s idea is to travel with the team to Australia for the pre season. They also say that Madrid likes Garay () and Mustafi if Ramos leaves.
They say that Iker´s decision is not going to accelerate de Gea´s transfer. If he does not come this summer, they are thinking about Kiko Casilla (Espanyol)

Darmian just seems too obvious, quality player in a position we need who's relatively cheap and looking for a move.We don't make these types of signing. That applies to Schniederlin too really.

Darmian and Schneiderlin are this years Shaw and Herrera. Get them in before the tour and then we can move on to bigger sagas like Ramos, Schweinsteiger, a marque striker etc.

This one says they want Mustafi or garay to replace Ramos. Why would garay be advantageous per otamendi unless garay has a EU passport (even then it is not worth it imo)

Edit - my bloody phone posted before completing the post

So Casillas will sign permeantly for Porto but Madrid will continue to pay 2/3 of his wages. That can't be true.

We all know LvG is apparently obsessed with balance. Maybe he no longer wants to reveal one signing at a time as it upsets his chi. So we will reveal both Darmian and Schneiderlin on Weds.

El larguero, the program in Ser is saying more or less the same. Iker wants to go but he wants to get his full Madrid contract. It wouldn´t be the first time that this happens

There is no loophole, we already discussed that at length, in the disciplinary code you have this:

23 Transfer ban
A transfer ban prevents a club from registering any player during the period in
question.

United didn´t answer to the 25m€ offer. Van Gaal thinks that can get something else

Some absolute crybabies in here. I wonder how you get on with your daily lives, with so much negativity in your heads.
