Well we paid PSV tops 5m Euro more than their asking price (rumoured to be 27,5m-30m and we paid 32,5m), with his potential and the fact PSV almost had an agreement with PSG (was a matter of time) that is a bargain.

For me it's a question of timing. Showing the world United won't overpay is fine when we don't need to do much strengthing, which would hopefully be the situation in future trasnfer windows. It's a bigger problem when we need several players and the season is a month away.

Darmian just seems too obvious, quality player in a position we need who's relatively cheap and looking for a move.We don't make these types of signing.That applies to Schniederlin too really.
Darmian and Schneiderlin are this years Shaw and Herrera. Get them in before the tour and then we can move on to bigger sagas like Ramos, Schweinsteiger, a marque striker etc.

This one says they want Mustafi or garay to replace Ramos. Why would garay be advantageous per otamendi unless garay has a EU passport (even then it is not worth it imo)

This is the problem with everyone saying, 'just pay the money for shneiderlin'. Were obviously in negotiations with a few clubs for a few players and when a club comes out and says pay x amount and he's yours, and then you pay the money, then all the other clubs have leverage to do the same. Frustrating!
