Another player rejecting us, eh? Predictable stuff from the media.

Anthony Wordsworth today joined Southend from Ipswich on a free transfer. I'm sure he rejected United as well.

Depressing but pretty much as expected.
If we have strong support from the flanks and midfield, it is pretty much the right decision. Do you think it's depressing because you don't rate Rooney as first choice or RVP as second choice?

It's not the ideal scenario, but we don't have much choice now. There are hardly any quality, viable options on the market at the moment (except maybe Lacazette), so sticking with Van Persie and Rooney for another year makes sense.

I think Van Gaal is prepared to wait another year for someone like Harry Kane. Hopefully both Rooney and Persie stay clear of injuries and hit the ground running next season. I'd imagine Wilson would play quite a lot as well, which would be good news.

Now let's sign some fecking midfielders and defenders.

We don't have that IMO though, and I think I mentioned the other night that I don't see Rooney as good enough anymore, at least not to mount a title challenge. RvP is a complete has-been and I'd rather keep Hernandez for the back-up.

We were linked with Blind for ages before we signed him at the last minute, I hope we're not expecting to string Schneiderlin along all summer while we go after other players thinking we can just snap him up at the end.

Straightaway this raises a red flag for me.

Bayern have been in the market for a midfielder this summer and are now receptive to Bastian leaving. What do they know about him that they are content with him leaving?
Can't trust these Germans. If Bayern told me it was sauerkraut I'd check under the sausage to make sure.

He's 31, injury prone, and past his best? But we all know that.

Being 31 isn't an issue for me. We can do with an experienced leader used to winning in the middle. Being past his best, he'd still be alongside Carrick as our best imo.

Those injuries are the issue. Just how serious are they? I think Bayern know they're pretty serious, or they're just going to get worse.

So 5 weeks tomorrow we play Spurs...anyone reckon we'd have signed someone else by then!?

I don't think pep rates him HIghly. he prefers lahm Alonso or Martinez deeper. And schweini can't play box to box week in week out. But he can't just sell him off so he is making it seem as if schweini wants to go.
