To WUM or not to WUM, that is the question.
Well its lose-lose for us. Apart from financially i suppose. We buy him for nothing, he never makes it and its the end of the story.

We buy him and just when he becomes world class all of a sudden barce start moaning we took their best keeper and suprise suprise he wants to go back home. We recieve a token fee similar to pique and we're back to square one. I was thinking the other day we need to find the next england number one to rival joe hart. He will be somewhere and when we get him, he won't leave for spain

Stay away from Iñaki Peña. You don't think Barca will come calling if he turns out world class?

I agree that it would be easier to keep hold of an English keeper but let's face facts, Pique was far from world class when we sold him back to Barca. He got humiliated by Bolton for god's sake. If we sign him and he turns out to be world class, if we sell him back to Barca then we'd get a few seasons of performances from him and a lot of money in the process (eg. Fabregas for Arsenal). Where's the harm in that?
It's incredibly rare that a player signs for a top team and stays there for their whole career. We've just been spoiled by being United fans.

So, another week passes. I hope this bollocks about the kit unveiling isn't true.
Can see it being a busy August

Yes, lets stop going for potentially good players in case they might leave. Signing Ronaldo was a mistake!

Real and Barca will have WC GK's at that time, so they would not go for him.

On another note though, does anyone know how Milinkovic got on last season? I heard he lost his place in the Vojvodina team in the second half of the year but then again he was only 17 at the time, which is crazily young for a keeper playing for a team that qualifies for the Europa League. Is he as good as the hype suggests?

If we want a no 6 to control the midfield, then Schneiderlin shouldn't be our man, in my opinion.

The only way we can get away with playing Schneiderlin as a 6, is if we get an 8 who controls games i.e. Verratti, Pogba, Modric, etc. Herrera could possibly grow into the role, and did great playing as the 8 at the end of last season, but his long range passing isn't great, which is essential when playing against teams who defend narrow and compact.

Do you not think Schneiderlin and Carrick together would be quite tasty?

I've yet to see Pogba control a game like Verratti or Modric!

Most certainly, and that's what I would play if we were to play a 4231, but assuming Jason Burt is right, and our priority is to get a no6 who can control games, then I assume that 6 would be would replacing Carrick, although I think Carrick still has a lot to offer and is streets ahead of Schneiderlin when it comes to controlling games from deep.

Don't know if this has been linked to earlier today. And don't know anything about this Rob Bourne who tweeted it:

"Staff at United's medical centre at carrington are preparing for 3 medicals in 7 days! If this rumour is true, it's about to kick off!!"

Had a quick look on his twitter. Info come's from a "talk at work". Could be solid info but most likely BS in all honesty.

Yes it's been mentioned and ridiculed already. I actually believe we can have 3 signing within 7 days, but I know that preparing a medical takes only a few minutes and can't be prepared days in advance as the stuff they use decays. The longest part is waiting for the machines to turn on, which takes about 30 minutes tops. The guy is most likely speculating.

I like that the club seems set on us having Ramos or De Gea next season and won't waver on it, one way or another one of them is playing here next season.

Imagine that the situation were reversed , ie Madrid wants to sign Vidic ,in his splendor, while United are interested in a goalkeeper from Madrid, which is one of the top 3 in the world, but with the contract ending in a year. United has a more than decent goalkeeper to survive that season . Would accept a swap?
