I heard a rumour we might be interested in Schneiderlin just now. I expect Woody to be preparing the preparatory parts of preparation for a bid sometime in late June 2017

Has the MEN in the last few years ever revealed anything new regarding football? All they come out with is either complete speculation / guessing or "news" which other outlets already broke at least a couple of days ago.

On the bolded parts:
Do we really know all the 'available' players in the market? Or just those likely?

As someone has already said, player availability in some cases will be a domino effect: we have to wait to see how the dominoes fall.

We believe we are top dog, so no one is out of our league. We should at least ask them first before settling for third choice.

Ow yea ?

we aren't far from it.

Barca, Real and Bayern are higher in the food chain than us and alot of clubs are equally attractive destinations.

For example a player like Pogba is out of our league if you think otherwise you are deluded.

Haha I love this transfer window.
The following is all according to our lovely press:

United bid £35mill for Sergio Ramos. Madrid reject the offer. Woody they goes back in a week later and offers £28.6mill.
United bid £20mill for Schneiderlin. Southampton reject the offer. Koeman tells us that United haven't yet made a sensible offer for the player. 2 weeks later United bid £20mill for Schneiderlin.

I'll like to see your reaction if that happens.

Jezus people think CL is already in the bag but it isn't. If we show up with a team half ready because our transfers are not finalised or new players haven't had time to integrate themselves in the team we might really be in trouble.

The way the team played in the begining of the season last year is easily knocked out by a motivated team in a CL play off.
 feck me you're a mess!

We aren't selling Di Maria either, especially not at that price.

Honestly, LvG being the previous Dutch coach is perhaps the most irritating thing ever as far as transfer gossip goes. They aren't even trying atm, and I doubt signing Blind and Depay has helped.

Bojan, Muniesa, Shaqiri, Crouch, Balotelli. Stoke is quickly become a place players go to resurrect their career. They should name themselves 'The Rejects'.

I'm convinced they've employed a copy of Football Manager 2009 instead of a scouting team.

They're doing really well though. It's weird to see Stoke playing good football.

Man City target Kevin de Bruyne will ask Wolfsburg to let him talk to potential suitors

I don't say settle for third choice, I say get it sorted before pre season atleast most of it.

You say if city would make a £25m offer things would quicken up and I tend to agree with that statement (if indeed schneiderlin is a first choice option for us). As that is what apparently happened with Depay aswell. PSG made an offer that got accepted so our hand was forced. LVG said they had to make the transfer faster than they wanted to.

I don't get that kind of reasoning. We want our players asap so just make it happen. If things get quicker when an other club suddenly shows interest it should be possible to let it go quicker without them showing interest aswell.

They have to make up their minds, make serious offers instead of nibbeling of a few £m here and there and get on with it ! We are going to end up paying what most teams are asking/looking for anyway, we might aswell just pay it from our first offer instead of waisting time with it. Determine what the player is worth, offer it, if the club or player says no move on.

It is not rocket science but we seem to take 2 or 3 times longer to get deals sorted than most other clubs.
Most likely Schweinsteiger, not Schneiderlin is the first choice. And most likely Hummels was the first choice, but now is Ramos, with Otamendi as backup. Same as how it looked that Bale was the first choice winger, with Depay as backup.

So, the club wants to get the first choices. But they are at big clubs too and it is difficult to sign them. So, we will wait for them quite long and/or until someone wants to get the backup choice. Same as we did for Dapay. We were prepared to wait for Bale, but when other clubs started bidding for Depay, we made a deal very fast.

I don't even know why the rush that some poster have. Say we sign Otamendi, today? What then? He still has to finish Copa America and then make his yearly holiday, and so won't join us for another few weeks. So why not wait for Ramos instead for another couple of weeks and see if we can sign him. If not, then we quickly make a deal for Otamendi. Similarily, if City bids for him then we make Madrid/Ramos a take it or leave it offer and if they don't accept, we go for Otamendi.

From the reports and common sense, it is clear that the club is waiting to get the first targets, which are top players. We can do a Liverpool and buymany average players, but that won't improve us in any way.

They've been trying hard to shake off that 'long ball wednesday' image since Pulis left. Their fans were basically sick and tired of watching shit football.

Nonsense: we should bid for any player we think will improve us; saying 'he is out of our league' just shows lack of ambition. They may choose Barca, Real or somebody else over us but it doesn't mean we shouldn't try.
