25m pounds (35m euros) is too cheap for De Gea. 50m euros (35m pounds) should be our asking price and not a penny less. Madrid won't accept not getting their man after all their talk, so in the end they will pay that much if Woody does a Levy.

On the meantime, we should purchase a comfortable bench for De Gea. There won't be any point on playing him if we aren't sure that he'll be here for the entire season.

Caf

May - Only want to buy the best, get rid of the deadwood, is Messi a possibility?

June - Why haven't we bought anybody, let's keep the deadwood but buy proven players.

July - Buy any fecker, I don't care who, you want £60 for Joe Allen? Done dealio

You forgot the month of april when Woodward couldn't stop talking about how much money he had made, followed by the end of the season when LVG wouldn't stop talking about massive changes and a squad being ready before the US tour.

I think you want to say Clyne > Valencia ? I don't agree with that but everybody can have his own opnion. I do agree with Clyne > Rafael.

Milner can play anywhere in the midfield including where Young plays but he can just aswell play DM or CM and be a MF partner or alternative to Herrera or Carrick.

Firmino is far more direct and industrious than Mata and beside Mata plays right wing under LVG.
1) Not much between them, but agree that Clyne is better. Not a significant upgrade though, we should aim better.

2) Milner isn't good and would be like fifth choice midfielder and winger. It would be a signing for the sake of signing.

3) More direct means worse in LVG' system. I like Firmino but we are already stucked in No.10 position with Di Maria, Fellaini, Mata and on cases Rooney and Herrera.

Basically, you are asking for signings for the sake of signings, not for signings to improve the team.

Nah Clyne is nothing special. Valencia is better at defending and attacking than him. Clyne gets the hype because he plays in a defensive unit in Southampton. If Valencia played in Southampton he would have had a better season.

Milner is very average at CM or DM. He played there maybe 2-3 times for city last season. Most of the time he played In the wings or as an attacking mid or even as full back. Once or twice he was a striker too i reckon.

Mata plays there because we don't have any other position a no.10 could play. Mata is much more intelligent and better creatively.

I'am just saying I'd have been happy with those 3, people shouldn't frown upon Liverpool for getting those deals done by now.

Bogdan, Ings and Joe Gomez ok those don't improve them or us at all so referring to 6 deals is a bit wrong as it is only 3 players that really improve them.

LFC have done 3

We have done 1

Just let van Persie run down his contract if we don't sign a new striker. We'd inevitably get a shit fee for him anyway.

To be honest getting off the wage bill, would be far better than holding onto him as we can't get a decent fee, going to cost the club approx 10 mill just to keep him for the season.

That is exactly what I said in my post ?

On Milner I don't think he'd be the type of player we should be aiming for but on a free he is a valuable player to get. He is so multifunctional and industrious you can't go wrong with such a player. I also like his attitude and leadership and I think he would have been a fine addition to play alongside or together with Herrera. Just because City chose to play him as RM doesn't mean he has to play there...

You'd think it was September 1st already with some of the carryon on the caf in the last 24 hours...

Getting our deals done late august no thanks.

It is now before the tour starts or it is bust !

We have CL play offs in case you forgot and we need to avoid a bad start to the season at all cost.

He can get Ramos or Otamendi and Schneiderlin for all I care but if they aren't part of the team that prepares next season in the US I won't be happy about it !

I'm bored of no signings. The main reason I want one is because most of my Liverpool supporting buddies are getting too irritating. They have gone to the extent of saying that we got depay only because we paid more wages and that Clyne and firmino snubbed us. I thrashed them couple of times debating this but they never stop and it gets to a point where you give up on trying to explain. :p

I'm starting to worry about @NoArroJusBeta .
I'm not sure he's going to make it through the window.
I think we need to have a whip round, maybe we can pay for a relaxing day retreat in a spa somewhere.

We could hire Ed to do a massage (doesn't look like he's doing much else at the moment), he could whisper 'trust in ed, it will be ok, remember Di Maria...remeeeeeeeemmbbeeeeeerrrr'

It's the general way with the Scouse boom-bust cycle at this time. It's the stage of the season where they've got their super amazing, definitely going to win them the title, signings in, but haven't had to face the crushing disappointment of actually watching them play together yet.

:lol::lol:

Manchester United are demanding that Fenerbahce pay £5m for out of favour winger Nani

The stats would back him up. I think 90% of the grief we give Valencia is 1) because he keeps smashing crosses into defenders legs and 2) because he's paid 10s of thousands of pounds a week and has never bothered learning to use his other foot. I know that's it for me anyway. If you ignore those 2 (admittedly very annoying) things, he's actually not a bad right back. We could pay a lot of money for someone worse or not a lot better such as Clyne.

Can we send all our turkeys to Turkey? I'm thinking Evans might like to play in a more Mediterreanean climate

Have you tried headbutting them?

RVP set for Besiktas move according to the Turkish press.

Wonder how much his wife has to do with a potential move there. I remember seeing the press say something amongst those lines earlier in the year. As poor as he has been, he can still cut it at a higher level.

He should consider playing in Italy. He can more than just hack it there

What happens when a player linked with United joins Liverpool.

Clyne: My old pal Lallana helped convince me to choose Anfield over Old Trafford

I'm not going to the Sun website but I'm guessing he mentions United exactly zero times in that interview.
If he has said it, I hope someone from the club comes out and says we never even looked at him, and are only interested in signing players of higher quality than what we have currently.

The longer things drag on, the longer fairly strong links to players start to fizzle out. It just signifies to me that we are struggling to get our targets.
