Transfer Tweets - Summer 2015 | Stop Spamming - Discussion Should Relate to Tweets

I think social media like Twitter and its likes have made the whole experience of Transfer window worse than it possibly can be..

There was a time when I just used to visit United official website or BBC Sport and find out who we signed..

In pre YouTube days, I barely had access to United games and maybe champions league.. So any wish list was short and me and my mates didn't have chance to dissect a player or argue potential signings before they were announced.. So any United signing was a welcome one and didn't have split opinions on who would have been better and stuff..

Nowadays we have 10 different opinions on a said player and there are always going to be people who dont like some of our deals.. Not saying we didn't have it before, but it was post signing than predisposed mindset of nowadays..

We also have these trolls who want their 15 minutes of fame and the access of several players across globe have us all yearning for our clubs to sign some of our favorites.. It is not a bad thing, but does make the process of waiting for the signings more tricky..

We want it now and we want exactly the players we have in our minds.. And it doesn't help when we are desperate and that is being taken advantage by Twitter no marks and even journalist who want their 15 mins of fame or try to look more credible.. So they throw 50 things on the wall and get one story stick and somehow get to claim "I told you so" and try to look credible, forgetting their success rate was 1 in 50.. In my work, I would be fired with that success rate..

After years and years of transfer windows and having some great moments of joy and absolute heartbreak on losing out on what was supposed to be "sure things", I just take the window as an opportunity to look forward to new singings, whomever it may be.

I just hope that we sign the players we need to be competitive and hope the players do us proud by giving their best for us.. I would cheer for them as long as they are wearing that United jersey and play for us..

Mirror saying we will only increase our offer for Ramos if Real does the same with their bid for De Gea.

What's tax like on football transfers? Would it not be in both sides interest to keep the price lower but the difference (if any) the same?

I remember back in the day, I'd check teletext because there would be like an advert for teamtalk, and it always had news about United on it, so I'd sneak up stairs, plug the modem in, connect it, quickly open all the links I wanted to read then log off so I was only logged on for 1minute as it was before 6pm

:D:D.. Now I get to check news on my phone!! Any time I want.. In fact with the United app, I got the news of Memphis signing and Jones and Smalling contract renewals as soon as they were posted, pushed directly as a msg..

Technology.. Boon and a Bane..

We've got them exactly where we want them to be (negotiation leverage-wise). Hope we don't back down at all.

Obviously they aren't going to turn it down if we offer 90 million euros. That asing price is just a tactic.

That "De Donut" thing they do is really irritating. Even the fact that it's all in capitals. Ugh.

How can you slap that tag on him when he has not even been sold yet? Moreover, even if he costs £100m, if he continues to progress as he has done, then whoever has signed him has one of the world's best midfielders with the rest of his career ahead of him. It would be money well spent. Fair enough if you think he's overrated, but any questions over whether he is overpriced or not have yet to be answered.

Juve has put a price on him. That's what I'm going on. If I walk into a store and a shirt costs $300, I'll probably tell you it's overpriced. I don't need to buy it for that to be true. If Juve drop their asking price I might change my tune.

And there are a lot of IFS in your post. If he keeps developing, if he fulfills his potential Etc. He's far from the finished article, and the prices quoted should only be for a finely polished gem.

Yeah, Arda being the Iniesta replacement & Pogba the Rakitic? (As harsh as that would be to Ivan). But yeah, it's football, anything can happen. Arda could end up on the bench, or as cover for the wings (if Pedro leaves).

Just think it's a bit overkill. Read interesting comments from Bartomeu saying the coach has identified a midfielder which they're after but he can't name yet (comments along those lines). Obviously comments hot on the heels of Laporta saying if he's elected as president, he'll bring Pigba with him. So Arda could well be the player Bartomeu was referring to.

Maybe @Mitchell Nicholas @Brown Toothpick could shed some light.
I'd rather wait a year for Pogba if Laporta is elected president if that's who he wants. Iniesta will be 32 next year. While that's not too old, some succession planning of some sort would have to begin in the midfield. I'm aware Pogba and Iniesta are different players. Pedro ain't leaving, I hope there aren't any signings until after the election, but we'll see. As for Arda Turan, is he good enough? Is he required? I'd say no on both counts.

So where does this chap fit in? Does Sergio leaving RM affect any of this?
The Espanyol president, Joan Collet, has admitted that a deal is in place for Lucas Vázquez to return to Real Madrid.

"We have a verbal agreement with Real Madrid for Lucas, one which is positive for the club", Collet told reporters.

The 'Pericos' supremo did not volunteer the financial details of the transfer, but did say that the board believes it is a "good" deal for Espanyol considering "we could also lose him next year".

What Collet did reveal is a sell-on clause meaning that Espanyol will pocket 25% of any fee if Vázquez is subsequently bought by another club.

Real Madrid loaned Lucas to the Catalan outfit last summer in a deal including a purchase option, which Espanyol triggered at the beginning of June following a season in which the winger established himself as a key player at the Power8 Stadium. However, another clause allowed 'Los Blancos' to buy their academy graduate back; the decision to do so was taken with Rafa Benítez's approval and with one eye on the Champions League home-grown quota.

Hence it's not actually worse in the end than what you make of it.

Going from Ramos to De Vrij.... and Schneiderlin to Clasie...

It's maybe like going from Alves to Van der Wiel and Bale to Wijnaldum
