Cech and Schniderlin and they would instantly be a PL title contenders. And judging by their fans arrogance and delusion we'd never hear the end of 'how great team they are' all over the next year. Apart from Liverpool if I'd like someone to crash and burn then its Arse. And lot of that hatred stems because of the attitude of their arrogant fans.
It would be unbearable, they are still chunttering on about the not quite invincibles!

I hope this is not true. City getting Otamendi would be bad. Why can't we just get him - and Ramos (if that's what Ed Woody wants)? Otamendi is exactly the right tough bastard we need in our defence.

Because we have given Smalling and Jones new contracts, signed Rojo last year and are bringing up McNair from the academy. LVG is not going to add 2 worldclass defenders ,who would both cost us an arm and a leg, to add to that list.

A couple of decent media have claimed Ramos had a meeting this afternoon at Real madrid training ground with general director and his agent to discuss the situation. They claim he is unhappy with Perez (also reason why it was general director and not the Perez himself at the meeting) and seems like he is unwilling to reopen negotiations for a renewal at Madrid and they couldn't come to an agreement to settle things between him and Real and he has told them he wants to leave because of this.

The unhappiness with Perez would come from the following things:

-Firing Ancelotti
-Iker being forced out
-Real doesn't want to honor his wage demands (he is asking for 10m and they don't even want to pay 8m)
-Real not denying the news last week he would go to Barcelona (which as a club legend made him angry because such news pissed off the fans and made him look bad)

In general he feels unvalued and not respected enough and is fed up with the way Perez runs the club and treats the players and trainers.

The fact that the guardian reported it and alot of media are running with it gives credibility to it (also spanish media and madrid insiders are running with it) and it has woken up the muppets.
Sounds hopeful then. Looking forward to see what happens with this.

Although I'd love Schneiderlin, too... but I've seen tweets saying that Arsenal have agreed a fee for £24m :(

Jesus some of you miserable cnuts obviously don't want to win the league

Lvg is here for 3 years, he needs top players now. The league has never been more competitive

I hope not £24m is a very good price for him and only 25 years old...

Would be typical for us to snub Otamendi and Schneiderlin in favor of Ramos and Schweinsteiger not carrying about the age difference and paying twice as much for them in the process. I could so see that happening but I wouldn't be happy with it at all.

I wonder how many of you who want Otamendi more than Ramos have actually seen Otamendi in action if we dont count youtube clips.

Also that younger/older stuff is silly, as it was said Otamendi is just 18 months older.

If I wouldnt know any better and I was reading this forum I'd think Otamendi is 21 and Ramos is 35.

I bet you're a right laugh at parties

I want him to build a side that can win titles for more than 1 season in the future and that means looking beyond players that could do a job for 2 or 3 years.

I'd happily pass up the title next year for it if that is the cost.

Italian journo Alfredo Pedulla: Watford are on the verge of signing Davide Santon and Zdravko Kuzmanovic from Inter for a combined fee of 10 million euros.

Meanwhile, tuttomercatoweb are reporting that Watford are also close to signing Jose Holebas from Roma.

Guess Santon is 10 mil worth and condition must be for them to take Kuzmanovic too.

Only a season ago when we were heavily linked with Porto Otamendi for a lower asking price everyone was depressed and reacted the same way they would react to Gaitan going to us.

Now after one good season and some youtube clips of him tackling Messi they are crying out for someone of his quality and speak of him as if they've always seen it in him.

Fakking snakes on redcafe. Sick of them sometimes.

Exactly.

Ramos or Otamendi, its a no brainer.
If we can get them both that would be brilliant.
But suddenly Otamendi is the next best thing and Ramos is basically in a retirement home with one leg.

Terry is doing a pretty god job at 34 for instance.
There's no reason to believe Ramos couldnt give us 4 or 5 years. Otamendi is not so much younger. Lets say he could give us a 1 or 2 years more than Ramos. So there isnt so big of a difference..

But he is 29!!! I wasn't around when Vidic and Ferdinand were 29 but I bet that no one thought that they were finished.

It's a great thing to write on forums but Arsenal have had this attitude for ages and have ended up with feckall ,by the time you get it working you have a new problem to solve
