I don't understand why everyone gets so flustered about the Arsenal link, has anything even relatively believable come out since Canal said he's very close to us?

People tend to believe hardly anything when it's players linked to us but when it's those players linked to other clubs everyone loses their minds.

The truth is, the only people who honestly know what's going on is the clubs, the player and their reps. I mean look at the Depay deal, that came out of the blue. Just because things are quiet doesn't mean they won't happen.

Flabbergasting that people think this is a fair deal.

We'd be paying €60m for a 29 year old defender

And receiving less than €30m for our best player in the last 2 years who is 24.

not saying im agree or disagreeing that we are overpaying.. just curious about the math.

they say its 30 million + ddg which for you puts its at 60... which would mean you have put ddg at 30 million valuation

and then you say we are recieving less than 30 million for him. Has me a little confused

EDIT: Seems someone else has been confused about your arithmetic aswell

I was just kidding. Ronaldo is everything but captain material.
 I genuinely can't think of a more appropriate captain for Real than him - the ego, the greediness and the strops he throws on the pitch = perfect representation of Real Madrid :nono:

I think Ronaldo is a sure thing for the captaincy at Real if Casillas and Ramos leave the club.

Yea reading it now confuses me to

I guess what I tried to say was I value DDG at more than €30m, so if we are giving them €30m on top of that it be like paying more than €60m for Ramos which I find really excessive considering his age which wouldn't make it a fair deal.

And if people say it is not like €60m but more like €50m then it also wouldn't really be a fair deal to us because than the DDG valuation would be far lower than €30m.

Did that make anymore sense ?

DDG with one year left on his contract isnt worth 30 mil.

 getting our pants pulled down once again. €8.5m, pah

Benteke would've a decent singing for you as long as you didn't get your pants pulled down over the price

Perez must be laughing his ass off pulling our pants down every year. He doesn't even need to pull it down himself anymore we just don't bother to wear pants anymore to negotiations...

This transfer doesn't excite me in slightest. Anything other then straight swap with DDG and we're getting our pants pulled down by Madrid.

Whats with all this pants being pulled down stuff here in recent weeks. Everybody loves that quote. :D

For arguably the best CB in the world? Is €15 Million (10 Million pounds) really much more especially to a club like ours?

I don't think he is the best CB in the world.

€15m might not be alot of money to our club but still doesn't change the fact it is €15m too much imo

Cech and Schniderlin and they would instantly be a PL title contenders. And judging by their fans arrogance and delusion we'd never hear the end of 'how great team they are' all over the next year. Apart from Liverpool if I'd like someone to crash and burn then its Arse. And lot of that hatred stems because of the attitude of their arrogant fans.

I was out playing football, why's this thread and the Ramos thread blown up? Has something been tweeted?

Also, what's the situation with Schneiderlin too?

Pounds maybay not in euros he definitley is atleast in my view. In fact I think it is even on the low side.

Forget his contract situation atm if he had a full contract and he'd ask to leave and we'd agree, I think we would should be asking for a figure in excess of €60m atleast. For example I don't think Courtois or Neuer who are the only two comparable keepers in his class would go for anything lower than that.

Now 1 year left on a contract, I know it is a bit arbitrary, but as a rule thumb I always say minus 50% that would value him at atleast €30m.

It's muppet season, everyone wants their cock out. Since Woody is a nice guy he pays a bit more so that the other club will pull our pants down for us?

The one thing that goes against Schneiderlein to Arsenal is that the Arsenal journos haven't reported it , unlike the journos that cover us the Arsenal group are really well connected and usually get the Arsenal transfers pretty early.

:D We've some every year. Last year it was "dead in water" during Vidal saga and "ship has sailed" when Sneijder rumours picked up again couple of years back.

Care to elaborate?

Well Ramos story is heating up, Guardian reported he told Madrid he wants to join us, in the same time some posters are claiming figures going around (DDG + 30 mil for Ramos and similar) means we're gonna get our pants pulled down.
Oh and for some reason people are convinced Schinerlin is going to Arsenal.

I think the lack of much on Schneiderlin after the update weeks ago that it was close is a good sign for us. We've been much better about keep things close to the chest until the 11th hour after LVG came on board.

That's true. They have a fair few journalists who are usually in the loop with transfer stuff compared to us.

Don't forget 'embarrassing' during the summer that was Moyes.

I hope this is not true. City getting Otamendi would be bad. Why can't we just get him - and Ramos (if that's what Ed Woody wants)? Otamendi is exactly the right tough bastard we need in our defence.

Also, what's the situation with Schneiderlin too?

A couple of decent media have claimed Ramos had a meeting this afternoon at Real madrid training ground with general director and his agent to discuss the situation. They claim he is unhappy with Perez (also reason why it was general director and not the Perez himself at the meeting) and seems like he is unwilling to reopen negotiations for a renewal at Madrid and they couldn't come to an agreement to settle things between him and Real and he has told them he wants to leave because of this.

The unhappiness with Perez would come from the following things:

-Firing Ancelotti
-Iker being forced out
-Real doesn't want to honor his wage demands (he is asking for 10m and they don't even want to pay 8m)
-Real not denying the news last week he would go to Barcelona (which as a club legend made him angry because such news pissed off the fans and made him look bad)

In general he feels unvalued and not respected enough and is fed up with the way Perez runs the club and treats the players and trainers.

The fact that the guardian reported it and alot of media are running with it gives credibility to it (also spanish media and madrid insiders are running with it) and it has woken up the muppets.
