With this whole argument over whether or not Ramos is worth the reported money plus de Gea, people are forgetting that we're lucky to be even having an argument about a player swap plus cash deal for Big Dave. A couple of weeks ago most of us were resigned to him walking out the door and us being stuck with nothing but a few million yet here we are now talking about a possible deal including Sergio fecking Ramos. Even if it's just us trying to get something out of the deal at least it shows that we aren't just willing to submit to Real's demands.

We have far to many accountants at this club.
My view at the moment is that, if we can afford to spend the cash, just bloody do it. Our squad is in dire need of top class improvement and, for all his brainfarts, Ramos is one of the World's best defenders.
It pisses me off that we would effectively be letting Dave go for peanuts in that deal but it's not my money. I'm sure I'll get over United having a bigger hole in their bank balance than they really should when good players are in the shirt come August.

In my opinion he worth that much. We have to realize that De Gea worth nothing financially. That would be a valuation of 35m£ for Ramos.

We're still very likely to sign Otamendi and Scheinderlin and I wouldn't exactly write off the possbility of signing Gundogan. I don't think we need Bale that much and it's definitely not going to happen.
Buying a striker/ attacking mid to play at the back would be extremely interesting!

With Bender and Sahin's injury problems, I would think so. Gundogan's also been fit only for half a year now and he still has to prove his fitness.
Even without the injury issues, they need to freshen up their midfield and squad as a whole. Sebastian Kehl retires this summer and would need replacing as well.
It's just weird as Geis was seen as a sure thing for Dortmund after Tuchel was announced, but the fact Schalke got him leads me to believe they were never in for him, at least seriously.

Why does it always have to black or white ? And why can nobody understand that we need to stop investing so much money in players that are almost 30 years old ?

De Gea is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and has atleast 10 more top years ahead of him
But somehow everybody seems to think we'd e doing a great deal by not only swapping thm but also paying another €30m on top of it...
I don't know why we should accept Reals low valuation of De Gea he is certainly worth more than 20m even with his contract running down. They paid 30 million for Kroos with his contract running down I don't see why they should pay a penny less than that in fact more because De Gea is far more important to us than Kroos was to Bayern.
And it isn't about the numbers but we really need to stop accepting every lowball offer that is thrown our way and keep on paying through our nose ourselves. It is time we need to start showing some teeth in these negotiations. I'am sure if De Gea was at Chelsea in this situation they'd somehow manage to get Real Madrid pay cash + Ramos to get De Gea but we are somehow happy with letting him go for peanuts and paying through our noses to get Ramos involved in the deal just so we don't lose face. We have the worst negotiators on the planet if this goes through.

If this harebrained De Gea- Ramos swap goes through at the reported terms then the Glazers simply need to fire everyone involved in that deal from Woodward to Van Gaal, period. If we conduct our transfer business at this rate we will be broke in five years time even if we sold the OT naming rights!
Losing De Gea and getting Ramos will be akin to us spending money just to weaken our backline further, not that I don't rate Ramos highly because I actually do but I rate De Gea's impact on our team higher. Ramos, as good as he is, won't be bringing our defence as a whole to another level to justify spending £40m+ on him at his age.
