BBC. Good grief! Although it does only say "interested" in so pretty much a nothing story...but... BBC!

Don't think it's anything concrete but the Beeb is definitely a notch higher than anything else. In terms of the players, both are excellent but I have a personal preference to Otamendi and Schneiderlin.

Ramos and Schweinsteiger will have signed new deals at their respective clubs by the end of the week. United jerked off again.

Both would be good signings, I think we do need some experience and leaders in the team so these two make sense. The makeup of the squad at the moment is skewed towards the younger players. As long as this doesn't beckon in a new strategy of buying only established players I am all for it.

Neither Schweinsteiger or Ramos deal seems so easy as if we are interested we will get them.

Depends also if Real and Bayern wanna sell.
As per the German Bayern fans on here, Scheini will be allowed to leave if he wants to. Bayern won't stop them. As for Ramos, yeah that's not going to be easy...or cheap.

Not cocks out time just yet but at least it appears that we are sniffing around some top class players.

Why do I feel like Madrid are going to end up with De Gea, Otamendi and Ramos and we'll be stuck with Evans.

I just find it strange we're willing to spend a fair whack on players, admittedly world class ones, who we'll only get 2-4 decent years out of... assuming they don't get badly injured.

Yet we seem reluctant to spend £35m on someone like Otamendi, who we'd get more like 6/7 years from.

This reminds me of the days when we went aggressively after Ronaldinho, almost got him, missed out, and then over 90% of the Caf at the time thinking that Damien Duff was the best alternative.

Schweinsteiger and Sergio Ramos would be brilliant signings. Imagine them in a United shirt :D

Other factors though, Ramos and Schweinsteiger have been proved at the top for years, are both consistent, both are winners (including the WC) so can deal with pressure, experienced in cup runs and in Europe, both natural leaders too. That doesn't mean I agree with their signings though as it seems quite short-sighted.

So it's been reported by good sources we are interested in; Schweini, Kane and Ramos. Add Depay to that, would people be happy with such a transfer window?

Ah. The caf days when Harry Kewell and Damien Duff equalled Muppet Walhalla, The Promised Land.

How shit did they become/turn out to be...

Yes but...

1: You need to add a rightback to that
2: You need to add a DDG replacement to that or atleast somebody to compete with Valdes for the GK spot (put all our eggs in the Valdes basket is very risky)
3: If we get Ramos and/or Schweini my happiness on those deals would completely depend on the involved fee and the wages they would be on (not a fan of extremley expensive 30 year old players anymore after RVP and Falcao)
4: Kane is not going to happen (although if it did I'd be very happy but it won't !)

We would still need another midfielder imo, but with those signings we could win the league and go for the CL.

That would be nightmare stuff

Surely not

DDG yea probably (where else ?)

Than Otamendi or Ramos or neither of them (please ?)

And Evans must be off, I don't care where just make sure he isn't in the red shirt of United anymore next season.

I wouldn't be annoyed if we got Ramos and Schweini, however for both of them it'd cost a fair whack. I don't really care about price as long as we get the right player(s) in, and I'm not 100% sure these two are.

They'd definitely immediately improve the team, assuming they settle in. I just want us to sign a slightly younger midfielder and a centre back too (Otamendi and Schneiderlin please).

I doubt Ramos would cost that much since he's almost surely being talked about in the De Gea transfer. Schweinsteiger is 31 next year and should come fairly cheaply.

So Athletico signing both Vietto and Martinez...
I hope the Chelsea Griezman deal doesn't re-surface

Didn't Sky report that we were closing in on Gundogan? Also remember Jim White stating Benatia was flying in for negotiations or something.

It's odd that BBC and Sky are reporting the Ramos crap a day after it blew up from their "sources".

Problem i see with both, defenders and midfielders is we have a lot of those at the club already.
For example, we are linked with Gundogan, Schweinsteiger, Schreiderlin (for feck sake don't want them because i can't write their name) and Firmino. That is 4 new midfielders and people want them all. And when you consider we already have Mata, Herrera, Fellaini, Blind, Carrick and Di Maria who can play in midfield we are well stocked in that department.
Of course Mata and Di Maria can play in attack (on the wing). I would go for Gundogan and Schweinsteiger but watch CAF going into meltdown when someone out of those 4 go to other club. In defence there is similar situaton with at least 5 new defenders linked with a move to United and we have a lot of players there already.

So this means we need to sell before we buy. And that takes time.

We should have been in for this guy...

We do actually need a striker that can score more goals than Rooney because else I doubt we'll be title contenders next season.

Not many realistic options available anymore and before anybody says we are not getting Benzema or Kane !
