@Suggs, why didn't you just link the actual tweet from the proper reporter rather than your mate?

Keeps everyone happy and complies with the thread rules!

Because i thought some of the most interesting parts of that article is that he's mentioning the possibility that Lindegaard might extend his contract and that LVG wants to spend the transferbudget elsewhere, which his brief overview doesn't mention anything about.
Figured that it'd be easier for people scrolling through the twitter timeline to have the important parts of the article translated, rather than having to open the article and (most likely) having to use google translate or something else to understand what's being said in there.

There are several Real players I would not want to have at United...Ramos is high on that list. In fact, the list is way shorter if I listed the players I would want at United. I would rather Real just payed a high price for DDG and carried on.

Modric, Varane, Kroos, Isco, Bale Benzema, Ronaldo. Surely a list from 'i want players from Madrid' is a bit broader then that, not ? Or perhaps i misinterpreted your reaction and you mean a list in general and not specifically Madrid.

Cope: if Real like Uniteds offer then he could leave this summer

Cope: Real won't make a counter offer and are upset with his attitude

Why would anyone not want Ramos? I just don't get it. He's a top class player, in a position that we're absolutely crying out for a proven, experienced, player in.

Yes, he's a massive cnut on the pitch. But actually, I think thats something we could do with.

Not sure about that Lindegaard tweet. When Van Gaal was asked about him after Valdes' arrival, he said he wanted someone with a different skillset for the goalkeeper's position. Unless he's learnt and shown something since then, I can't see him being retained.

Because some can't dissociate his current performances from the past narrative of being a reckless, red-card magnet, Luiz type pseudo defender. You're actually spot on. Our defense could do with older head who's been there and done that, someone with heart and genuine leadership ability, who can make up for the experience void created by the departure of Rio, Vidic and Evra. And Ramos is probably the most experienced, and decorated defender in the upper echelons of European club football with Terry and Lahm.

Yep. I think you need a bit of a prick at the back. If you take a closer look at Vidic, he was absolute filth at times but when he plays for you, it's fantastic. His shirt pulling was absolute gold, brilliant at it.

Agree. We're too nice. Could do with some authority in the team.

It'd just wouldn't sit well with me. But I'm not a big fan of just spending money on our competitors established players to try and win things. I prefer to sign players who want to come here and make a name for themselves, potentially become United legends.

Not to mention the fact that I've always hated him. He's always been a cnut and I can't just change my mind because we're linked like some seem to. Opinions change like the wind on here.

Fair enough :)

What British paper is AS the equivalent to? The Sun or something?

What about Marca too? Just wondering cause a lot of reports out of Spain come through those two papers, just like they do with the tabloids here.

Seems like we've been or at least trying to tap up various Real players for a while now. That will teach them not to reach out for a player of ours again (or not).

But we are signing those players willing to make a step up and improve.
Shaw
Rojo
Depay
Herrera
DDG
Blind even.
Depending on the De Gea situation, half our team could be based on the transfer policy you're in favour of.
It's not as if were going out bidding for Messi and Naymar and abandoning the rest

This reeks of contract extension tactics for some reason. Would welcome this signing though I have already had my mind set on Otamendi coming

There isnt a single newspaper, broadsheet or tabloid, worth believing when it comes to transfer rumours. Its all speculation which looks good when its correct, an event which happens every blue moon; and when wrong, no sh*ts are given.

Take everything you read with a pinch of salt.

Transfer rumours are interesting to read and thats it.

Jesus if we somehow nab him and schweinsteiger then we will have an actual backbone in the team again
We'd have grown an actual spine almost overnight.

As clichéd as it may sound, a team desperate to win trophies again, needs people like these.

Oh yeah I live by that already, especially the tabloids. Was just asking whether Marca and AS are as bad as say The Sun or The Mail, or are they even slightly reliable?

Marca is very sensationalist and more in summer . If they advertise something in the cover it is because there is a real interest . If they are wrong later is because they have exaggerated or because the negotiations were not well . Marca is more global (or they pretend to be). As is more conservative when it comes to news and is madridista 100%. Marca has an ambiguous attitude towards Florentino , As is against him. They are editorially linked to general newspapers so they are more reliable than years ago , although as they told you in transfer market is impossible to be totally sure

Cheers mate :)

Benzema...maybe? Add James Rodriguez to that list. You are right...there may be more that I would like to see on our squad. I guess you could say I am indifferent towards most of them.

Need to get atleast someone to compete with Valdes in that scenario, as Valdes is a big risk.

Lindergaard isn't good enough.

Not anyone looking at it logically, he can't catch cold let alone crosses, he's a sweeper keeper not suited to the PL at all.
I agree he's not suited to the Prem. He's too small for one thing. However, we all know how good* he can be, and he's certainly vocal when confident.

I wouldn't be too gutted if he was our main keeper.

If we become good enough, we won't be facing many typical PL games. It's a big IF though so I can see your reservations. I myself am torn on this one. On the one hand I think it's worth giving a shot and that it would be worth it to have the odd mistake here and there if it meant we are dominant and authoritative most of the time. On the other hand, I think if we do not reach a certain level, we will be left with eggs on our faces. Up to Van Gaal to decide the potential of this team I suppose.
