Agreed. I'm in the beard club as well, have been growing one for 4 months now and it looks/feels epic, even though my girlfriend has been moaning about not being able to find my fecking lips. No going back now and as Sam said, when you look back you look like a 12 yeard old beardless.
Otamendi should keep the beard if we get him. We need a tough, bearded bastard in our team and he looks like he could be a leader.
Wouldn't be fun to face our defense if it's a Otamendi & Rojo pairing. Ones a bearded hardman, the other is a baby faced psycho.
I would be delighted with such CB pairing. They know each other from the national side and would be able to communicate well on and off the pitch.

As for Otamendi, any contract should have written into it that he isn't, under any circumstances, allowed to shave it off.

I had mine for about 8 years, long enough to plait and always fancied going for the massively long kung fu master type deal. However I got very bored on Wednesday and lopped it down to standard length, then while tidying it up with clippers my missus' head just appeared behind me in the mirror looking over my shoulder, scared the shit out of me and the clippers took a chunk right down to the skin. Now I have no beard at all and am thoroughly gutted.
Worst thing that's happened to me in a decade. 10 years younger and my face looks a weird shape. The bottom half of my face is pale as too. My face looks like Frankenstein could only find a top half and bottom half, top from a slightly pale person, bottom from the most pale person on the planet. Never realised how much I hate the wind on my face either....

I feel your pain man! Shaving too much off your beard is the most sinking feeling ever, totally get the weird face shape too. I haven't seen my actual chin in about 5 years. I remember years ago I shaved it all off, and I developed a proper hatred for my chin. It just looked so weird to me.

Varane is two years older than McNair, in CB terms (so early in a career) that's a lot.
That's really harsh. McNair played a few games last season where he looked like our best defender -- very comfortable on the ball. Sure, he made mistakes, but he was 19 years old and shoehorned into a choatic side that didn't know its best 11 or even its best formation. Fwiw, Varane had a poor season last year -- at least, he looked poor whenever I saw him play. Someone like @carvajal or @Vato would know better than me though.
To summarise it, Super Deporte are reporting that Valencia want €50m, which could be including bonuses. They are basically just saying that Otamendi has confirmed his agent's claims and wants a move soon. Marca say that Real Madrid aren't in the picture and that Otamendi wants the move to us. Super Deporte, however, claim they are indeed after him. According to Ole (Argentinian newspaper), we agreed personal terms with Otamendi back in May.

Nah they're much more than that. They might be moving towards click bait headlines these days (welcome to the Internet) but there's a lot of integrity to their reporting. They scan through media sources the world over and to the best of their ability try to figure out the source of the rumour and if there's likely to be any truth to it.
Don't really know anything about him tbh but we do need a new keeper soon. Howard did have excellent moments last season but he was by and large very average and declining.
