Independent: Manchester United and Real Madrid end interest in Arturo Vidal after drink-drive shame. (according to Chilean newspaper El Mercurio)

Inter Milan have agreed a fee of 20 million euros with Marseille for Giannelli Imbula, according to RMC.

Marco Verratti wants to leave PSG and move to Spain, according to Marca. (basically the same story as the Pogba one from yesterday)

Was we even interested this summer?

Verratti will stay at PSG this summer. You can bet your house on that.

Ings, Milner and Gomez  Brendan working wonders in the transfer market again the squad is literally overflowing with mediocre players and he just keeps adding to it.

Don't forget Bogdan!

In all seriousness I haven't seen Gomez play so can't comment on him.

He's 18 years old though. Wouldn't even count in the squad figures

Do these sport witness chaps report anything other than issues with stuff reported by others ?
They're very good for disproving the bullshit and reporting their opinion on things, which can be deduced from sources from all round the world. They're a good follow, in my opinion.

Yep, seems a great prospect. But then so did Powell.

Gomez has already impressed in The Championship. Powell had starred in League Two when we signed him. It is a fair point though but I would have liked anyone but Liverpool to have signed the kid!

Still a good signing at £3.5m.

Fair enough. I just found their "exclusive positive United news" recently being Januzaj wants to become United legend, funny.

he has a point, both are way over priced, I would want both for the price quoted for one of them.
Rio Ferdinand trying to look like Jock Stein but in reality for every 5 Andy Carroll's there is a Shearer on the loose and for every 5 Andros Townsends there is a Gareth Bale on the loose so sometimes you have to take a punt. Harry Kane is definitely no Andy Carroll type Donkey and Raheem Sterling is definitely no Jermain Penant so Rio's rant is not exactly 100% accurate but it definitely makes good reading

Oh yeah that pissed me off! "Exclusive United news coming up later" in the transfer season, but not being about a potential transfer is clickbait to the extreme. They're a lot better for stuff like that than other media outlets though.

I don't think some of you know what clickbait even means.

Clickbait is deliberately vague headlines designed to entice a click down to how salacious the headline makes the story sound.

A clickbait headline would be something more like "Exclusive: Januzaj agent talks about transfer" and then the article says the opposite.

SW say very clearly in their tweet "Exclusive: Despite offers from top clubs, Adnan Januzaj wants to stay at Man United and become a club legend". No bullshitting, no clickbaiting, just exactly what the story is right there. Which is the case with 99% of their tweets/headlines (sometimes the 140 character limit is a restriction on clarity).

They do great work and should be lauded for their actual journalistic standards, rather than belittled. They actually chase the truth of stories, rather than printing any old nonsense.

Of course they were clickbaiting. They tweeted something like 'exclusive United transfer news coming up' before that Tweet.

As far as Tweets go, SW are reliable as it gets (well, after the BBC and "SSN Can confirm"). Twitter is a web of nonsense though.

We're getting linked with Lukaku, I hope that's nonsense.

Completely agree. They are an island of sanity in a transfer window ocean of pure feckwittery

Thats not click baiting. In fact, it's the exact opposite, it's telling you to wait until they actually have something.

No they didn't. They said exclusive Man Utd news coming up with quotes direct from an agent. Which is exactly what the story is.

And you still don't understand what clickbait means.

They tweeted about about an upcoming exclusive at 4:34. Then at 4:57, they posted the article that they'd written. It obviously took them that long to type it up. I don't consider that to be anything untoward.

Why the need for the precursor tweet to their massively underwhelming 'exclusive' if it only needs 20 minutes to get the full story up? They are fishing for hits with the key buzzwords 'United' and 'Exclusive' in a disengenuous fashion. It's not as bad as buzzfeed and all their sensationalist bullshit, but it's still clickbaiting.

Because it's a big deal for a small website run by a couple of people who started out as a tiny operation and are now established enough that they can get exclusive quotes directly from agents. They obviously get excited about being able to provide their own exclusive quotes. Nobody else got quotes from Januzaj's agent about the alleged deal done with Moyes in Marbella. All the papers were happy spinning the rubbish about that without even attempting to verify it, but only SW were willing to chase it down and prove it false. And then, guess what? All the major papers stole their Januzaj quotes without attribution.

textbook clickbait. I understand why they're doing it though, they want to make money out of it and it's only natural.

Barcelona "ace"? I thought it was going to be Messi or Neymar based on that, hasn't this guy been a bit part player?
