My first post in the mains after introducing myself on the mains welcome thread..

I have dreamed of posting in this thread for years..

And I get promoted on the day Transfer window is officially open!!:D

Here is to a spectacular Transfer window for United!! Cheers..

Oh right, almost forgot.. About the topic of the thread.. Wish list for this summer for United:

Coleman or Clyne, Otamendi, Schneiderlin, Gundogan, Benzema(if possible) or Benteke..

Plus a couple of young players for the future like Patrick Roberts from Fulham..

welcome up fellow transfer muppet :)

Mirror's David Anderson: Rodgers has a limited transfer budget this summer and is reluctant to meet Saints' £15m asking price for Clyne.

MEN: Louis van Gaal calm over Manchester United's transfer window progress.

edit: it's a shite article, just read it.

Do we hate Falcao if he joins the rent boys?
Don't think you'll see him play enough to hate him. Unless Costa gets injured long term, God forbid. :nervous:

I think he'd play plenty with Costa's recurring hamstring problems and with Remy likely to leave.

Seems Mourinho is on a mission to get Falcao and make a tit out of LvG and United by turning him into the monster he once was.

His ego might just fall on its sword on this one though, he looked completely shot to me, whether that was his injury, or the fact he unsuited to the prem I'm not sure, but I can't see how Mourinho will change anything.

Not picking on you, but I hate this sort of comparison. Fulham never had a chance at any time to sign Marchisio, Khedira, Pogba or Pirlo and Vidal moved to Leverkusen at 20, so they would have had to have been in for him at 19 or younger.

It's like Real Madrid about to get De Gea for 18 million pounds. Atletico paid about 2/3rds of that for Oblak, but it's disingenuous to compare them. I guarantee they'd have shelled out the extra 6 to buy De Gea back if that was an option.
I have no idea what this has to do with my post.

If 15M is the asking price, we should definitely give it a shot with Clyne..

But if that would mean, they won't sell Schneiderlin, I would rather us get him and go for another RB than Clyne

Honestly after the way Tevez, Ronaldo, Pogba, Fryers, Vidic, Welbeck and now DDG have left and acted in doing so, I'm struggling to give a feck anymore.
I kind of get your point and see where you're coming from but chucking in Fryers name with those other guys made me laugh.

They can piss right off. We should be holding out for at least £35 million for De Gea or try to get a good player in return as part of the deal. He's one of the best keepers in the world and the fees that are being reported in the media lately are a joke.

 True enough, though with him being an academy product that particularly pissed me off the way he went about things. Point is you can't expect loyalty from players in their conduct towards United, though TBF the same argument can be made from the other angle as well I guess.

In terms of Falcao, it might be different since he was never ours in the first place, but it will be fecking annoying when he inevitably re-finds his form at Chelsea

I'd be pretty annoyed if we sold Remy already. Scored nearly every time he was on the pitch for us.

Every transfer article from the MEN is shit. Compare it to the Liverpool Echo who have some excellent inside info and it's embarrassing.

Yeah, MEN are embarrassing, especially for a local media.
I've always thought they were just much closer to City/pro-City than us, but then again I can't remember many particularly interesting City stories from them either. Maybe they are just useless.

My City supporting mates find them useless as well. Granted most media outlets are regarding transfers but you'd expect a local paper to have some contacts. Mathieson was alright under Fergie and Mike Keegan was good for City but they don't get anything nowadays.

Implies a few of the more established players could be leaving. I'd guess at Nasri and Dzeko. Both were frozen out of the side at the end of the season.

So much wrong here. But what really confuses me is.... Vidic? The man pretty much said he'd have stayed if he'd known Moyes was getting the sack.

I have no idea what this has to do with my post.

You quoted that tweet about Juventus' midfield costing less than Ross McCormack and I didn't want to bother to go back to find the original.

Ohh. So you were agreeing with me?

I was debating whether to include him, but eventually did since he announced he was off half-way through our worst season in decades (entirely self-inflicted by the club, I accept), which I didn't think was ideal in the circumstances, much less for the club captain. He's still one of my favourite players of recent years, but his departure just about qualifies him for the list in my view.

Would you like to expand on what else you found wrong there? It's potentially a good debate to have I think (though probably not in this thread ).

What's the deal with Jovetic?

He played the other day for Montenegro and scored against Denmark but was injured and had to go off after 42 minutes which pretty much sums up his career so far. He's been linked strongly with Inter and talks have apparently been held a few times but so far nothing concrete has emerged. Liverpool have been mentioned too, and Juventus, although given they've just signed Dybala it seems unlikely. At any rate it seems to just be a question of who he leaves City for rather than a question of if he does.

Atleti are after so many South Americans. Do they have room for them?
Who else are they after? You're allowed 3 non-EU players registered in your 25 man squad. A lot of these South Americans have dual-citizenship with countries like Portugal (Brazil) and Italy (Argentina) so class as EU.
