Transfer Tweets - Manchester United - 2024/25

I haven't looked at it in details but after next summer it should drop when many of our big earners from the last 24 months are gone (DDG, Eriksen, Casemiro, Martial, Maguire and Lindelof)
I would assume only Bruno, Mount and Rashford are on really big wages now
Plus Antony is still on £200k per week and you can be assured United are paying most of Sancho’s 275-300k per week this year. The 11% reduction would be quite worrying if true as all the players have a 20/25 % drop in wages built into their contract if the club does not play CL football the following season.

Which is why I said it's not that bad anymore. Every club has a bad contract here and there but we've made huge strides in improving our wage bill in the last 3 years. Allowing the likes of De Gea, Varane, Ronaldo, Martial, Sancho, etc to all leave.

Recent reports now have us as the 2nd or 3rd highest wage bill as we have trimmed it down. Still work to do but it's an improving picture.
We should be nowhere near 2nd or 3rd highest without Champions League Football, my guess is they accounted for ETH being sacked and Ruben Amorim buy out being paid which is probably £30m cost or £7.5m per quarter. The 11% drop would be good financial management if it accounts for pay off to ETH and his coaches plus the £11m to buy out Amorim’s contract.

It was funny scrolling down and seeing the two pics of Davies. I think the first one was in reaction to Real’s interest and the second when heard United was interested.

Improvement in form? Huh? He's played 1 game under Amorim. These journalists don't half talk some shit.
He's most likely referring to the player's form during the training sessions, not his matchday performances.

I find that very hard to believe.I don't think I've ever seen a journo refer to training performances as form.

Keep in mind that English isn't his first language, and that plays a part in the Tweets that he sends out.

We should get him in summer. Top player.
Turns 30 in two months. No thank you.

This squad is at least 2-3 years away from really competing. No reason to target anyone over 25. Even 25 year olds would be starting their decline phase (except for CBs and GKs) by the time we're any good.

Just can't get interested in incoming players at the moment.

I'm hoping Amorim can get more out of some of the players we currently have rather than looking to build a full new squad yet again.

By the end of the season I expect to see a core group of players that look a lot better than now.

Same. No matter how good or promising they are they always seem to turn to shit within a season or two of being here. Hopefully things will finally change under Amorim because we’ve had 10 years of this happening now.
