I may be the only one but I would rather sell Eriksen and keep Fred.

Controversial take but I agree with you. Fred has got his uses. Eriksen hasn’t got the energy nor the legs to play as a mid anymore.

Yesterday, €45M was enough though.

Just goes to show, these idiots haven't got a fecking clue. I can't understand why everyone hangs on their every word.

Think there's a middle ground.... Some stories (most, possibly) will be a combination of generating stories to keep people reading and engaged - YouTube channels currently doing exactly the same thing, it just is what it is - and people who get a degree of information, probably ranging from whispers on the grape vine to fairly solid sources, who indicate an interest.

There will be so many conversations, thoughts and hypotheticals banded about but people are just desperate for news, so people cash in on this and keep generating stories.

Fans fuel all of this. They keep clicking, watching and reading and generating that sd income or engagement for algorithm boosts.

It's no different to old school teletext, where you'd ring and pay £1.50 a minute and be kept on for 5 minutes whole they dragged out some lame story.

People are ignorant and desperate for 'news', it isn't a new concept to cash in on this. I've pretty much started going blind in transfer windows. I'll pop here on occasion and a couple of YouTube channels which I'll check in on every few days but other than that, just not worth the brain space. Can't control any of it, 90% of it is content milking and you just end up wasting loads of your day just doing nothing with your time. I see people who spend a few hours a day commenting etc, none of it gets them anywhere. If you enjoy it, sound, but most people I see appear to spend the whole summer being very frustrated.

Why waste the time haha? I think it gives people the illusion that they are involved etc. Check in once a week, see who has signed or close to signing and do other stuff until ore season starts.

Pretty much everything we read is Chinese whispers. Some are more reliable than others but mostly it's half truths. I have no idea why people treat this as briefed information. They spend so much time getting mad and complaining about things that are either stretched, made up or exaggerated. Unless the club brief something, treat anything you read with a handful of salt. Why people continue to treat articles and tweets as though they are official club briefings, I have no idea. It's just dumb people being rinsed, as has happened all throughout history. This is just the latest incarnation.

Lot of rumours we are close to signing Sofyan Amrabat

Great signing if true 26, CDM-CM knows ETH and he’s a physical monster, not super quick round the ground but quick enough and quicker than Casemeiro, physically those two would scare most teams and means United could play 4231 as well as
4-1-2-3 and 4-2-2-2- as well but we need Frimpong as well later in window.

After re watching a few Sofyan Amrabat highlights a Mount analysis I’m seeing a trend in the transfers I think we’re genuinely after. What most stood out in players like those mentioned and even Kim and Hojlund is character. I mean this as in how they approach the game. They all have different traits but all have energy, most tactically sound and a no nonsense approach to the game. Ten Hag type players.

This phrase will seem old fashioned but I mean as in do the right thing at the right time. They press when you need to, be pro active, clear the ball with a physical challenge. A bit like Casimero and Martinez. Players that can come in and perform relatively quickly. Hopefully these guys that come in can match their performances.

Can't see that happening until GK and striker are sorted out.

Not sure he's good enough, but I'd imagine he'd predominantly be DM cover for Casemiro.

Hope so, good quality player. Might not be one people want but I’d be more than happy with him. God forbid I have to watch Fred and McTominay piss about for another season.

When you come on the caf on a Monday evening and expect to see the day's tweets and there is literally none.

Well you can take Min-Jae out of the list

From another Dutch site (Voetbalzone, not so reliable)

Sofyan Amrabat is tot een persoonlijk gekomen met Manchester United. De Engelse grootmacht is nu in onderhandeling met Fiorentina over de transfersom voor de middenvelder. (La Nazione)
Sofyan Amrabat has come to a personal (agreement) with Manchester United. The English superpower is now negotiating the transfer fee for the midfielder with Fiorentina. (La Nazione)

Source (Tier 1):

Manchester United, who are considering making an offer for Onana, already know that Inter will not let him leave for less than €50m.

In the event that they do not sign a top goalkeeper, plan B involves the renewal of De Gea and the arrival of a young player to compete with him.

No doubt the transfer fee will include the obligatory "UTD tax", any other club wants him & Fiorentina & the convo goes like this;

Buying club - We'll give you £20m for him
Fiorentina - No, no, no, I wouldn't dream of it, just give us £10m & he is yours
Buying club - Are you sure? We are willing to pay £20m
Fiorentina - No, £10m is more than enough, thank you

Convo with UTD goes something like this;

UTD - We'll give you £20m for him
Fiorentina - You have having a laugh? Best midfielder at WC2022 for £20m, don't think so, £60m not a penny less
UTD - £50m & £20m in add-ons
Fiorentina - Done

Onana, Hojlund, Amrabat and Mount would be wonderful signings in this side with this system. I reckon we'll end up with those 4, once we get the sales done. We have a lot of players to shift.

Source (Tier 1):

Inter, Manchester United have 40M ready for Onana. Frattesi, however, is also being pursued by AC Milan who have a meeting scheduled with Sassuolo

Also in the article:
  • Inter want to bring in Lukaku on loan with an purchase obligation.
  • Inter won't spend a huge amount of money on Frattesi with AC Milan now entering the race for the player.
