Why are people so hung up on the 1m transfer fee.. would 3m have made it better?
We usually try and get a good club for our players.. he probably went and found the club he wanted to go to.. we got a token fee.
If he wasnt going to cut it here, let him go to the best possible club where he can get regular minutes.

No point pricing him out of a move where he gets first team minutes and sending him to be a reserve team player at a premier league club for a little more...

I'm surprised its a permanent deal. I dont care about the transfer fee.

Typical just Typica with this Club, we never do anything early, we keep delaying until it's late then we splash out huge out lay for fees on bang average players.
Joel can’t make quick decisions apparently.

2 out of McT, Fred and DvB were likely to leave with us looking to sign 2 midfielders..
Mainoo, Rabiot and AN Other, and let all three of them go. I would be happy with Mainoo, Rabiot and AN Other (one of Mount, Rice, FDJ, Caicedo, Lavia, Le Fee) taking the minutes played by the three leavers, and some of Eriksen's minutes as well. We also have Casemiro, Eriksen and Bruno, so don't need any more.

People are, typically, misguiding their 'anger', 'frustration', 'blame', on this small transfer. The transfers that need to be done and seemingly are being lined up are for the actual first team players with value such as Henderson, Telles, Maguire, Bailly, Laird, Williams, McTominay, Fred, etc.

Rice, FDJ, Caicedo, brillant, you made my night ….Im still laughing.

Fred is for sale? Now I'm no fan of his by any means, but I hope we have a replacement lined up, as the midfield is already pretty light.
Trouble is he's either brilliant or atrocious, and we never know which we're getting. It's making him unplayable.

I don't disagree at all, and in fact I wholeheartedly support selling him. I just hope we're able sign somebody to replace him sooner rather than later.

Both Bayern Munich and Manchester United have gotten down to business in recent weeks for Randal Kolo Muani. Erik ten Hag is leading the talks with his targets, but the takeover could slow things down when it comes time to wrap up.

Inter have lined up Guglielmo Vicario of Empoli to replace Onana.

What the hell, Liverpool, Chelsea and City be getting 15 million plus for their academy players, we get 1 million...

Which academy player these teams sold for 15m, given said academy player never played a minute of senior club football anywhere?

Huh, you're right... I must've blocked those out of my memory. Mental trauma I guess. In more recent competitive matches Tite preferred a 4-2-3-1 with Paquetá and Casemiro in midfield.

Yeah, we might be in the downturn period of Fred's Brazil career. For a while there, especially in Copa America, I remember watching him play in central midfield alongside Casemiro but more forward, linking then with Neymar on the left side. Probably that era is coming to a close now, though. Memory is weird, though, for sure. Your post made me question my own memory, so I had to go check for sure.

Imagine what a team we could have had if our people in charge had actually done their job and signed the players our managers actually wanted. OGS wanted us to sign Caicedo, Haaland and Bellingham - not sure what happened to those guys, but they might get a decent career in the future. Rangnick wanted ut to sign Vlahovic, Nkunku, Gvardiol, Haaland, Diaz (oh and Morata)

Makes you wonder which players ETH really want - that they yet again will screw up.

Seems like we are competing with Bayern for most players this window.

I know his options are hampered by the owners, but I am yet to be convinced of ETH's choices in the transfer market.

Onana, Mount, Rabiot and Hojlund will probably be our summer business.

Fred, Beek, Telles, Bailly out and we might have enough for one more player

Is Adrien Rabiot's mother the most infamous mother in our club's history since Rooney shagged a grandma

To be fair, that's a pretty good set of players and will really strengthen our first team and squad. I would like Timber to be that extra player, and he can do a similar job to Shaw, playing at RB, and covering RCB. Ideally I would love us to try for a cheap "surprise package", someone like a Gift Orban to take a bit of the pressure off Hojlund and be a bit of an unknown entity. He appears much further down his career path than Pellestri or Amad when we signed them, and could make an impact like Garnacho did last season. The added bonus is he is already winding up arsenal!!!

Completely agree - I'd not be upset with those 4 signings as I think they make us stronger than we are now and hopefully the takeover then happens before January so a couple more can come in then if needed. We could be closer to a title challenge without being expected to actually win it this season and try to have a good run in the CL. Play the kids in the league cup and go for another FA cup run if we get a decent draw. Then go all out for the title the season after.

A few voices here thinking Bayern is still perceived as a better move. I disagree. I think we’re at a good turning point and Bayern have a lot of work cut out for them. Trying to put myself in a player’s shoes, I’d be leaning towards a United move.

They can, but do they? From my perspective United are better at producing professionals than most.

Your last two paragraphs are a bit contradictory. I suppose you're arguing they'll get a better technical education elsewhere but at United they'll be have a better chance at turning pro? If so then there's clearly something United do better than most. What's the point in making kids good at football if they end up in careers outside of football?
Do you think these city players are coming out the academy and not playing football elsewhere or something?

Do you think these city players who are dominating at youth level are not finding themselves clubs if they don't make it at city?

It's this thinking that were amazing are bringing players through for the sake of it that's allowed fans to accept weve actually fallen behind in youth development. We get one wonderkid every couple of years and it's "United's done it again." The owners have put no money into youth development and the structure has constantly changed the past couple of seasons. There's no shame in admitting we've fallen behind in that regard. We've not put any money into our youth whilst city have pumped money into there's.

At this point, i'd take Rabiot on a free even with the high wages and shift Fred for £15m-20m. That sounds like good business to me.

i think clubs must have a nicely laminated sheet with our transfer intentions listed. i think ' to be kept informed' is probably just above 'monitoring' and below 'considering'.

Be very frustrated if we don’t get rid of Maguire and McTominay. Both hold some value and would have suitors. We should be pushing both towards the exit door.
