I would take this. Only problem is that we'd need a 4th or preferably 3rd choice CB to replace him. I don't think this £30m fee would be enough to cover one.

So if we sell Maguire, there has to be an additional sale somewhere to help us afford Todibo or whomever.

I reckon McTominay is staying, so it would need to be somebody like Henderson.

Murtough needs to prove his worth by doing something Woodward never properly could: sell multiple players to clear places in the squad.

McTominay will need replacing if he's sold preferably with someone good in the air. Him and Maguire need to go but we're short on aerially strong players now.

There's gonna be some meltdown when he rejects the move and says he wants to fight for his place.

Good thing you're not involved.
We've been burned before with overvaluing players in negotiations (Lingard, Henderson, Bailly allegedly, amongst others) way beyond what selling clubs at the time would offer and burdened with players and their wages for the next season or two. Hence it's not an unreasonable position to be more conservative rather than optimistic in pricing. That doesn't mean that you quote the 25mil to clubs immediately, but rather that you're willing to negotiate down to it without engaging in [protracted] games and see them walk away..

Pellistri on his future:
Well, we have to see. Of course, both scenarios are good. If I go on loan, it's because I hope to get minutes and then return stronger. And If I stay, to play all the time, I can play and contribute to the team, so we will see what happens in the next weeks but now I am enjoying this moment. Of course, being part of the Man United squad is the thing every player wants. We will see. But both cases will be good because both of them will be for my best. Each case, is good. We are speaking all the time about that. the manager speaks with every player all the time, so in that case it's very clear. So we will decide together what the best option is for me.

Source (Tier 2 - Gary Jacob & Charlotte Duncker):

United value McTominay at £45m. There are some doubts over whether both players want to move to West Ham.

He's not going to stay and "play all the time".

I would have liked to see him stay as an impact sub. But if his (understandable) wish is to "play all the time", it means he's definitely going on loan.

Have never really though the West Ham interest in both would amount to anything but if they get to £60m for the pair it feels like it could happen with the inevitable bit of negotiation.

Assuming both players fancy it of course.

Will be great to get Martial and his massive wages off the payroll next summer. Thank feck Ed 'Economic Maguire' Woodward isn't in charge anymore, or he'd be preparing a new contract with a pay rise to 'protect his value'.

Leverkusen would be massive for Kovar if he could become their #1.

Ed knew that he'd out sooner rather than later, so he did a classic "kick the can down the road". Book values look great while he's in charge and mess will be on someone else's head after he's gone.

60 mio £ for both - what a great deal this would be! Take it, thank them and leave! Put up a Moyseh statue in front of Old Trafford!

Since we value McTominay at 40million I think the club will feel this is too low. More like 70-75 million for both and they should bite.

I was thinking the same, but I hope we're prepared to drop lower than that if necessary.

What we reckoning then based on current rumours?

Out
McTominay
Maguire
Fred
Van De Beek
Bailly
Martial

In
Amrabaat
Mainoo (promoted to first team)
A CB? (nothing concrete currently, but there were murmurs earlier in the window, dependent on Maguire leaving)
A ST loan/short term deal? (Dependent on Martial leaving)

£60m allows us to get rid of two players we don’t want and get in two players we want. Plus Maguire’s ridiculous salary gone. Hopefully we don’t get too greedy.
