Clearly does not understand the New FSP rules, if he sold Mount, CHO and RLC for £100m combined he could spend another £400m this summer, but with an already huge wage bill, no European football, their revenue is going to drop to high 300m at best. He will be begging clubs to take the players soon !
Exactly. And if we it is true that he needs to sell until the end of this month then we just need to wait

But the consequences for breaking FFP are what...a slap on the wrists and a fine in 2-3 years?

Its never going to be a big enough deterrent for the big clubs (United included tbh) so I'm not sure why there is so much talk about it this summer. Unless I'm missing something?

Tbh the way Chelsea and City have just completely disregarded it and gotten basically no punishment, I think it would be worth just saying feck it and take whatever shitty fine they want to give out as their "punishment" to be ready for next season.

For Mancheater City and Chelsea yes, but you know they would want to make an example if we did it. Not that we can afford to, but if we could.

I think if Real are interested in Kane then we have no chance. Levy won't sell to us, so it's more likely he stays put than comes here. Unless we pay way over the odds.
Kane would much rather stay in England than go to Spain. It'll come down to how badly he prefers staying in England and if he can force Levy to his will.

What does 'being kept informed" actually mean?

Either we're interested in Caicedo to the point where we want to make a bid, or we're not interested at all.

Surely our interest isn't spiked if/when Chelsea or Arsenal suddenly make a move? If we want him that badly, just go for him.

Imagine Spurs playing a high press, high tempo game with Maguire at the back  :(

We are just transfer muppets.. need the info before the media gets it..
might even be placing some bets to make some ££s

Apart from the Glazer’s effing off, this would be the ultimate list of summer signings. Obviously given we’d have to offload roughly the same number of current players, the total spend would be in the region of £250m..

Rasmus Højlund£52m
Benjamin Pavard£17m
Mason Mount £69
Diogo Costa£65m
Adrien Rabiot£0
Khvi Kvaratshkelia£49

Kvaradona 50 and Pavard 17? :wenger: . In what world?

We have a few good CBs and #10s (playing as #8s), and those are the only positions we seem to be chasing now. I find that a bit weird. Do we really have that much money to spend?

We have Varane, Martinez, Lindy and our first choice LB is our best back-up to Martinez.

How does that equate to a few good CBs? We need at least one, preferably two as Lindelof is not good enough.

Think every club in world football would submit a bid for KK if he was 49 million.

Yeah I thought so :)

I meant how the hell is Mount worth that much with 1 year left on his contract.
We are so so so awful in selling players that we (fans) forgot how that goes. They say 80, we say 40, they say 60, we offer 50 plus add ons. And that is it.
With Ed and Murtough it was;
They say 80, we say 50, they say 90 and we say done.

If the club continues to be run as badly as it has in the last decade, and doesn’t get new owners, we won’t be able to keep spending regardless of what FFP says. The clubs finances seem to be in a mess.

This is the one for me. 21 years old and incredible.

I'll be gutted if another team gets him

Striker is obviously the overwhelming priority though

How can they demand in excess of £70m though when they’re selling the Argentinian lad for £40m?

Should move away from Mount and focus on him then if that's the case, however sadly I don't think Erik is as convinced on him

Well that's exactly what it is, a few good CBs. I definitely think we have far more pressing issues than CB, and I would rather get Malacia-esque CB for 10m than go big. Just deal with it next season and focus on priorities.

IMO because he's much, much better than the Argentinian lad

Seems so strange on the face of it that he's targeting Mount (who i've always thought was rubbish) and doesn't seem as taken on Caicedo when he seems excellent whenever I see him play.

I really hope it's not extremely poor judgement and the start of his clown phase that all our managers post-Fergie go through. And that he see's something we don't.
