I asked this in the De Gea thread but I'll ask here again. What do people make of that lad Kovar who is on loan at Sparta Prague? They won the title and seems like he was first choice.

Reckon he's good enough to warm our bench next season?
I think the deal was for a 2 year loan, but I'm not sure

Sell him and Hendo (and Maguire and Mctominay, Martial if you can)

And go buy some solid 4-6 players

But the glazers are still there so who knows how this summers gonna go

Need to back ETH
Everyone keeps blaming the Glazers but we have spent billions. The managers bought the wrong players. All of a sudden ETH has joined, signed a few decent players, got them playing to his style, and we are suddenly looking like a team again. Once he has finished his makeover, we will be right up there with citeh.

Who has he screwed with?
Henderson and Forest. He‘s known for months Henderson doesn’t want to play for United so if DDG doesn’t sign is he actually going to scupper the deal? I presume he has other GK options in mind so would the plan be to keep Hendo as No2?

What is ETH’s problem? He does enjoy screwing with players. It’s in no one’s interest for Hendo to stay at United.
United want to wait till we get a GK ( De gea signs the deal or we get a new one).

Selling GK without backup will make our position weak. Obviously NF can pay obscene money and get him anytime they want.

ETH problem is that he is manager of Manchester United and dont think he cares about Henderson or Nottingham Forest

Why would we sell him before either Dave commits or we get a new keeper?

So ETH thinks having a player around who doesn’t want to be there is good for Man Utd? :wenger:
Is Baldrick his assistant?

So you think from a negotiation standpoint for Man Utd, it’s good for us to approach teams with potentially 0 first team goalkeepers? I’m sure they will sell them cheaper to us out of pity.

You think he wouldn't want to return to United if he was the only first team goalkeeper at the club?

Right so ETH‘s cunning plan is to make Hendo the number 1? No plan B

Really bungled the whole Henderson situation. He has been ready to be first choice for this club since 2020 and Ole screwed him over for calamity Dave. Now we have to go spend 60m+ on a goalkeeper that could have been used elsewhere.

Not really, was just bad timing. Ole dropped de gea for Henderson, he just got COVID and de gea came back in and played well.

I’m wondering why Forest want to spend big on Hendo when they have a much better keeper on their books (Navas)

He was never actually good enough.

I am with the Forest Fan here. Why dither and worst case risk Forest getting fed up and sign someone else? If United and DdG can’t agree on reduced terms let’s say until July (seriously we should just kick DdG out, daylight robbery in terms of wages for so many years, now he should as a back up not earn more than 100 k) then we don’t decide on Henderson’s future either?
He is not good enough for us, doesn’t want to be here so what’s the point? Just use the fee to find another goal keeper instead. If we “force” him to play for us as a stop gap due to lack of motivation and uncertainty he won’t play well anyway.

Some sources quote Henderson for 30m gbp. If that's the case AND we manage to sell Maguire for a minimum 20, then what an amazing job our transfer-team is doing.

Think we'll get at least £30m for Maguire if Tottenham come in

Seems like you’re just eager to get Hendo in and throwing toys out the pram because it’s not happening as quick as you’d like
No - I just don’t get why United are holding the deal up. ETH is essentially saying that if DDG doesn’t sign then he either intends to keep Hendo as the new No1 (let that sinkin ETH devotees) or as No2 which is just plain bad man management. None of it makes any sense?

Another ambitious player we need to get rid of. Good to see. Henderson, McTominay (according to reports), and Fred happy to seek playing time elsewhere. Hopefully Maguire, Telles, Bailly and Martial all show they are desperate to revive their careers elsewhere.

No, he’ll be number 2 because that’s the plan for David.
It’s not that complicated

Try to remember 99.999% of tweets are utter garbage.

Getting annoyed because Henderson hasn’t been sold yet is a bit daft.

It’s been 3 days since the FA Cup Final. The summer transfer window has only just begun.

I can only really assume that this is a ploy to raise the offered price for Henderson but still keep their offer on the table. I expect seemingly strong (but false) links for Tottenham to sign him to become prominent in the coming days, encouraging Forest to up their bid. If Forest hold their guns, I suspect we’ll take the money anyway.

Looks like we're not interested in Raya since he seems to be available relatively cheap this summer and Brentford have already agreed the deal with his replacement. Seems like we've decided it's going to be Diogo Costa. Makes more sense to just spend the money on him this season than giving De Gea a new contract if ETH has decided he can't be our starting keeper. Don't really see any situation where keeping De Gea as a backup makes sense and can only see Costa's cost going up since he has 4 years left on his contract.

Telles 5m
Bailly 5m
Williams 10m
Henderson 30m
Maguire 30m
McTominay 40m
Fred 25m
VDB 25m

That's 150m right there, and I haven't exaggerated any of those fees. There's also a rumour flying about that Sancho could be on the table, so there's another 50m. Bring back Amad, and you will have Antony/Amad on the right, and Rashford/Garnacho on the left.

With 200m generated from sales, and whatever is available in the transfer kitty, there's a realistic chance of getting in some of our main targets.
So far the noise is around Mount, Kane, Hojlund, Caicedo, Rice...but like we all witnessed last summer, Ten Hag has his own targets that not everyone else knows about, so we might see some leftfield additions.

Either way, I will trust his judgement.

Literally never screwed a single United player. Wants to make sure he has goalkeeper cover, how weird eh? Wind your neck in.

The Glazers are responsible for having a corporate banker in charge of football operations. He’s actually cost them a tonne of money.

Van De Beek we’d do well to get £15m. He’s shown nothing since he came here. Ajax might be our best bet.

McTominay and Maguire seems optimistic. Particularly Maguire given his age.

Fred only has a year left so might be £15-20m.

Regardless, we have loads of players to move on if we can shift them.

If Sir Jim comes in maybe Martial can go to Nice.

Sparta is levels below what we should be looking at, even for backup.

Doesn't always work like that does it ? Or you would be only buying players from other top teams.

I just wanted to check if he had shown any ability during his time there to be atleast a backup for us.
