I hate those kinds of tweets the most. Player x might leave. He really might. He 100% wants to stay at his current club, but it really could happen you know. [Psst, it won't happen] [but never say never]

It's like something from the Simpsons.
That's not how I read that Tweet. United are just keeping an eye on Goretzka's situation as Tuchel is pushing hard for Rice. Given that Rice will be expensive and also take up Goretzka's midfield spot, United are hoping that Goretza may push to leave and become a cheaper alternative in that defensive midfield position.

Plettenberg actually says that Goretzka's still likely to stay given the player's personal preference and the lack of talks from United's end.

Ten Hag would go crazy within a short period of time due to Goretzka's positioning. I highly doubt your coach would be in favour of that transfer.
Goretzka would be a better fit at Liverpool. On the flip side, maybe Erik Ten Hag could teach him a few basics for a midfielder...(doubt it lol).
Most Bayernfans would be very happy if he would leave. Behaves like a passenger in most games, doesn't know how to position himself, both defensivley and in the build-up, and basically lives for his runs in the opponents box, while his output has gotten very modest for that luxury-approach.

So, no, he isn't still fine. I defended him for a while; his half season under Flick when Bayern won the treble was impressive, but to be honest, that was his only time where he delivered consistently at Bayern.

I doubt he would leave immediately, even if Bayern lands a big midfield signing. Goretzka would try to force his way back into the team, he knows he has a high standing in the German media,...but i think he would fail, since Tuchel sees Kimmich also an a 8, and Goretzka has no chance to come on top of him. So, if Bayern can get a good number 6 in the summer, big name or otherwise, he is in big trouble.
Also keep in mind that he is on fairly high wages, 16-17M€/year.

The only thing I’ve read that is reliable says it isn’t close even if the interest is real.

Which one? Kim wouldn’t happen until early July cos that’s when the claude becomes active.

Mount looks like talks are happening and so could move quickly.

Sounds more reasonable price with bonuses included
Keep in mind that this is what United are looking to get Mount for. Chelsea will still want more and will push United and other suitors to offer more than €50m.

Wouldn't be surprised if that initial price was from Chelsea briefings to media. Hope we get this done around €50m

This Mount signing doesn't fill me with hope, especially if we are signing Kane also, won't the 3 of them (including Bruno) be occupying the same space?

I hope at the very least we've identified backup options so that we can move on (or credibly signal our intent to walk away) if the asking price is too high.

This one will take all of June, because of FFP they have to get as much money as they can. I don't think they'll budge right now. We have to remember reports of Mount coming here only started like a week ago so let's try to have patience, especially since our ownership is still in an odd state of limbo

Let's see how this posturing works as we get closer to the beginning of July.
Now with Maldini leaving Milan I wonder if that has a ripple affect on the RLC deal from Chelsea to Milan as well.

Where is Maldini going?

I doubt the £100 million FFP figure is true. We seem to get similar reports at the start of every summer and then spend well more. Qualifying for the Champions League will surely increase the budget also
It’s not true even after last season loss of £115m which affects the FSP and FFP rules the most the club still had revenue of £583m and wages of £384m we still spent over £200m.

This year things are now being monitored and assessed from January 23 to December 23, probably the reason we spent nothing in January. This years accounts out soon will determine the true extent, the briefing was turnover of £550-570m, with a loss of £110m and we have to pay interest on the debt at £35m. Wages can not be £384m as the club has a built in Europa League clause so let’s assume 15% reduction in the same way we lost at least £60m from the CL Turnover. Let’s try and make an educated guess Turnover £560m - 90% FSP rule £504m - wages £325m - Financials (Debt £110) (Interest to service debt £35m) = £34m left which can be amortised over 4/5 years so about £150m without player sales. If we sell Henderson for £25m, Mctominay for £30m, B Williams for £5m and Elanga for £10m, all of these players cost the club nothing so are sold as net profit meaning £104m available which could then be multiplied by the length of contracts average at 4 years is £416m budget.

FFP and FSP are not the problem this year, the club being skint under current owners is, if we sold the club earlier we could have gone huge this summer, next year is a much bigger problem as the FSP reduces to 80%.

God bless you Todd Boehly.
Clearly does not understand the New FSP rules, if he sold Mount, CHO and RLC for £100m combined he could spend another £400m this summer, but with an already huge wage bill, no European football, their revenue is going to drop to high 300m at best. He will be begging clubs to take the players soon !
