Tbh the way Chelsea and City have just completely disregarded it and gotten basically no punishment, I think it would be worth just saying feck it and take whatever shitty fine they want to give out as their "punishment" to be ready for next season.
Steady on! You do realise that United are held to different standards than other clubs by whatever authority is involved. Different rules would be discovered and applied in our case. We'd be mullered and an example set to deter others.

1. feck that.
2. The price for you Dortmund is 80m. And you have to buy Sancho back.

I'd loan him there with a loan that's financially structured in such a way that if he doesn't play an x amount of the time they pay a high cost (and we'd have to extend his contract first).

Well that's exactly what it is, a few good CBs. I definitely think we have far more pressing issues than CB, and I would rather get Malacia-esque CB for 10m than go big. Just deal with it next season and focus on priorities.

That's two I'd trust. We need 4. It's a huge priority given Varane's minutes need to be managed. One injury to Martinez and it's bare bones.

It's quite bizarre you think we can get by with replacing Maguire with some 10m kid.

in fairness, you could replace maguire with a traffic cone.

Apart from the Glazer’s effing off, this would be the ultimate list of summer signings. Obviously given we’d have to offload roughly the same number of current players, the total spend would be in the region of £250m..

Rasmus Højlund£52m
Benjamin Pavard£17m
Mason Mount £69
Diogo Costa£65m
Adrien Rabiot£0
Khvi Kvaratshkelia£49
Kvaratshkelia will cost at least double that from Napoli

Oh for goodness sake. Hendo doesn’t have a future here. Ship him out and spend the money on Costa or Raya. Everything can’t hinge on DDG. These things should be in isolation!
Agreed, couldn't have said it better myself. Why I can't see us ever reaching City, we're just pathetic that cling on players (and I'm tired of the 'well we can't pay like city' argument)

Think the point is we have no Butland, Heaton (I think) so if you get rid of Henderson too without tieing down at least DDG, we’ll be left with no keepers or just Heaton.

Can't help but think a truly ambitious club would simply get rid of the pair of them, clearing almost half a million off the wage bill per week and target a new 'keeper who is a better fit for the team.

Agreed but good news is that we’ll have to get a new keeper regardless of what happens with De Gea. 37 year old Tom Heaton who has barely played surely can’t be the number 2 keeper.

I’ve not heard anything about Tom. I assume he’ll be here next season. Butland was only ever a loan, and we have Vitek and Mastny aswell as Bishop in the unders who could deputise. Hendo really isn’t that important.

I still for the life of me can't understand why we need to tie down DDG unless it's purely financial reasons which tells me everything. It's worrying that we want to tie down players who don't fit EtH's vision and it means that we don't want to progress quicker.

To be fair. The contract has been agreed by both parties by the sounds of things, but not signed. So that tells me DDG is looking elsewhere & EtH not promising #1 says he is willing to make DDG #2 but DDG is not willing to accept that

should be seen as a great opportunity rather then a problem, get rid of all the dinosaurs and lets keep up with modern times - both first and second keeper should be progressive(both via keeping and possession) while there is always a good free market for a third keeper if Heaton is leaving as well.

I think we’re going to sign a new keeper this summer, but don’t want to be in a position where we’re desperate. Let’s say if we sold Henderson already and DDG doesn’t sign, then any selling club could hold us hostage over the fee. Smart play is to get DDG to sign first (1-2 year extension as a backup), then sell Hendo, and then sign a top GK when no gun is held over our head.

I asked this in the De Gea thread but I'll ask here again. What do people make of that lad Kovar who is on loan at Sparta Prague? They won the title and seems like he was first choice.

Reckon he's good enough to warm our bench next season?
