If this Mac Allister deal really is "well below £60m" LFC have got a steal.

He's only 24, a World Cup winner, one of the stand out players in a great Brighton team and will prob end up costing less than Mount.

Sigh. We should have been in for him.

Is this how we report transfer fees now???

Just make up a figure and say ‘well below’ or ‘well above’??

Sounds like a made up line from a joke journalist if you ask me.

You're assuming Rashford will match 30 goals next season. He's had a pretty poor end to the season imo. If we can't rely on him to match that target and are relying on a young striker with 9 goals this season we're going to struggle

I would like to think we would have several new players in the team for next season, so we may have more of the ball, and so create more scoring opportunities.

 Good point! If the figures are going to be that imprecise, they're almost certainly made up.

We created chances this season. Bruno created more chance than any player in Europe. We underperformed our xg more than any team in the PL aside from Everton which shows how wasteful our players have been in front of goal. Even Rashford scored less goals than he actually should have. Our problem is clear as day by any metric, we don't have someone to finish the chances we create.

Probably preparing a bid.
Which will take a month while Liverpool signs 3 more players.
Typical.

All reports seem to indicate we are more advanced than most clubs with our business.

Kim Min-Jae, Mason Mount, Rasmus Hojlund all seem pretty far down the line.

Given that we finished our season two days ago I don’t see the panic.

Are there any non-Italian journalists connecting us with Kim Min-Jae? I don't trust Italian journalists, who tend to relay whatever info agents give them without ever bothering to confirm whether it's true or not.

It's also not really a position you'd think we would be spending significantly in given Lindelof as a 3rd choice CB is pretty good (assuming Maguire leaves) and Shaw/Case cover it well.

So, while our situation is likely to change back and forth in many directions throughout the summer, this is what i´m thinking if we assume the ~£100m budget is correct.

In:
Diogo Costa 60m (or any other keeper we go for, but placing Costa, as he´s likely the most expensive option)
Højlund 60m
Amrabat 25m
Kim Min Jae 60
total 205m so far. The below depends on more/better sales than minimum expected
Mount 50m
Total: 255

Out:
Fred 30m
Maguire 20m
Henderson 30m
Martial 15m
total 95m this is minimum amount i expect us to sell for this summer. In addition, i´m kind of expecting:
McTominay 35m
Pellestri 15m
Lindelöf 25m (not expecting it, or hoping for it, but he might not want to go into season fighting for 4th choice CB spot with Shaw)
Total all included: 170
Total budget all included: ~270m
Might also bring in some small change on loans, and possibly on sales of Bailly and Telles. Bailly being most likely, but wage and injury record makes it small change.
I´m also for letting DDG go. I´m more positive to keeping Kovar around as our #2 next season, playing domestic cups and maybe also CL group matches if we go through early.

Most names i put are not because i want them or have an opinion on wether they are the right buys, but due to rumours and positions they fill.
I feel the inbound transfer sums are realistic, and that the outbound sums have a positive potential to be better. Knowing our sales negotiation teams though…

If we were to complete all this activity for the first team, (i consider it unlikely due to amount of transfers, but still)we´ll be in a better position than we´re in at the moment.
We´ll have made efforts to improve GK and CM position for quite a few years, the drawback being we´re making a gamble in the CF position.
If it works out however, great. If it does not work out, we´ll likely have a chance to bring in Kane on a bosman transfer next summer. This is why i consider it the right window to take a chance on that position.

I think its still a place we should target. Varane always has fitness issues so its important to strengthen. I like the idea of strengthening the spine this summer.

In order of priority.

ST
CM
CB
GK

ST, GK, CM, CB for me.

Agree though Varane is a bit of a fitness risk and I guess we don't know how Martinez will recover.

Would love to sign Kvaratskhelia for the lw.

I've been thinking about this for a while, we may have numbers at LW but the quality isn't there.

We need someone who can provide assists from the wings, it isn't happening atm.
We don't have someone providing anything from left wing because ETH keeps playing that useless twot Sancho there instead of Garnacho

You have literally forgotten our sole source of goals
The Doctor, The man who feeds the many, Lord fastquads, Mr. Marcus himself.

If Sir Marcus is the wunderkind of the left, why is Sancho playing there?

Hate to be the one who puts it forward, but if I was Mr Rashford, I'd be getting my agent to remind Madrid and Barcelona that I am only 25.

He would be of no interest to Barca until he’s out of contract

You haven't noticed Rashford playing LW most of the season then? Sancho's been playing there when Rashford's had to play up front, as we have no other strikers.

Jeez those twitter replies are rough. Has he really gotten that bad? Better not be a Schweinsteiger 2.0.

Nah, he's still fine. Bayern Munich tend to be as hysterical and entitled as Manchester United fans. They made fun of Süle in a similar vein, and he was an excellent addition for Dortmund. They pick on Goretzka because he doesn't look as silky and slick as Kimmich or Thiago before him, but he's still a skillful player and covers lots of ground as a box-to-box midfielder.

I hate those kinds of tweets the most. Player x might leave. He really might. He 100% wants to stay at his current club, but it really could happen you know. [Psst, it won't happen] [but never say never]

It's like something from the Simpsons.

Not happening in a million years. Rice isnt going to Bayern to begin with because Bayern wont be willing to pay what any of the top English clubs will pay for him.
