Sounds like a madeup role tbh, not sure most top clubs have this role.

His JD sounds like stuff the head of recruitment, DOF and Head Coach should be dealing with.
Literally every role is made up at some point of time. Never heard of a CEO being found in nature in the 17th century.

It's not a made up role. You're just annoyed that a clear remit was explained to you.

He’s the fecking technical director for petes sake. We have absolutely no idea what his remit and job responsibilities are (because the club hasn’t specified, just before that becomes Darren’s fault too.) He’s only on the bench assisting Rangnick because our club is such an absolute shambles that we had no Plan B when Ole went pear shaped. When are we going to end this perpetual witch hunt?
You don’t know Sir Alex had anything at all to do with his appointment, and on that basis I assume you oppose Steve McClaren working under ETH too? The dreaded United DNA?!! Give me strength!
If we want an player, Carrick can do that role, he's spent years at the club but he's still an outsider, don't want any of Fergie's puppets both within the club and outside it to ruin it further.

I’m sorry but Carrick has been the one constant factor in the Moyes, LVG, Mourinho & Ole years. Whilst I’m sure he wasn’t the main problem, I don’t want anyone associated with that shitshow back involved.

   Why the feck is Carrick any less than a 'puppet' than Fletcher? Are you attributing it to Fletcher because he's Scottish?

Also how the mighty have fallen that people are using SAF's name in vain. Deary me.

Fletcher led the push for EtH instead of Pochettino. It's pretty obvious that Ten Hag is another Ferguson puppet. Open your eyes, sheeple.

This run of form after the last 10 years has brought out some nutty conspiracy theories. Everyone's a feckin puppet and/or up to chicanery.

  • Instead of looking for a direct replacement, Juve want a left winger for a 4-3-3.
  • They prefer a young player but are open to getting an experienced player in should an opportunity arise.
  • Juve are also looking at Roma's Nicolo Zaniolo and Shakhtar's David Neres
    • Zaniolo: Negotiations on hold due to financial considerations + Zaniolo establishing himself under Mourinho
    • Neres can leave on more favourable terms because of a clause in his contract.

Not sure why they haven’t wrapped up a deal for Berardi yet.

OM are back on the attack for Man Utd defender Éric Bailly.
Pablo Longoria attempted a loan in January. He is now leaning towards a transfer this summer. The Ivorian, who has several offers, particularly in Italy, will make his decision at the end of the season.

Its the opposite of clear because Technical Director is exactly the kind of jargon that means nothing. Seems like you are projecting to me. Chill its not that serious, i dont think Fletcher has much pull anyway.

It's not jargon. He literally said what his job was. I agree its not hugely serious but hes qualified for the role.

The deal with Karim Adeyemi is on the home stretch. According to @SPORT1 information, the base transfer fee is 38 million Euros, 3 [million] more can be added with bonuses. The striker has a 5-year contract. A completion is expected soon.

I can't recall anything other than the fact that he is German that would make me believe he's worth more than say €20-25m. It's especially hard to understand why they are so desperate to sign him, since they already have a fairly similar player in Malen.

I'd forgotten the mad bastard even played for us.

Good lord are you Carricks agent?!
Carrick has left the club. He doesn’t work for Manchester United anymore. Furthermore he was signed by Sir Alex, played out his career here and then immediately joined the coaching set up and stayed for years with Mourinho and Solskjaer. He is the definition of an ‘insider’ what ever difference it makes.
Fletcher left the club and played at Stoke and West Brom for a couple of years before doing his badges. He came back to the club to coach the kids and for this role.
In summary, and in keeping with forum rules, your post is an idiot.

Leipzig doesn’t need the money. If he leaves he will be very very expensive.
They don't but they dont usually sell expensive players, their model works because its a platform where they can get promising youngsters and sell them to big clubs. That works for them to get income and for the players to be attracted to them since they know they wont put many obstacles in their way.

They sold Keita for 60M, Werner for 53M, Upamecano for 42M, Konate for 40M. I expect Nkunku to be around 55-60M.

Theyve got great money for good but not great players, with the possible exception of Upamecano, dont know how he has done at Bayern. ALways thought Werner was over rated, remember the fan fare when he went to Chelsea and how we ad missed out big time....drivel. I think Keita is a godo midfielder but not the world beater made out to be and Konate is a very good centre back but didnt understand people saying he was better than Upamecano.

I feel similar about Nkunku, very good player and versatile, but £50m+ for someone that is probably best on the left or as a number 10 (dont understand some saying he should be the striker for us to sign?), I dont see that as a godo deal at all, personally dont see him as a payer we need and for that kind of price you want someone that massively improves the side, I just dont see it considering his best positions, bring more consistency for sure than Fernandes for example but is his ceiling any better, not so sure? I genuinely dont think we are even looking at him as a genuine signing, its the RR links either by press or a smokescreen, dont see him here and though I like him, dont really want him either

He looked like a budget Grealish when they were up a few years ago but it feels like I've barely heard of him doing anything or even playing this season. Anyone know where he's at at the minute?
Norwhich's performances are ridiculously poor so its hard to rate anyone in that squad. If you mean Cantwell, he barely featured this season with Norwhich and was loaned to Bournemouth in the winter.

Upamecano is a starter for Bayern but he hasn't lived up to the hype. I see him in a similar situation to De Ligt, hyped youngster with ok/good performances but not great.

Nkunku is really versatile, that would help. Bruno has been poor for most of the season and we dont really have anyone putting preassure on him to take his role. I dont think Nkunku can replicate his bundesliga numbers in the premier league but anyone not wanting a player with those stats would be mad. It all depends on the price, 55-60M tops is what I would be willing to pay.

Would rather have had RvP in the dugout. Imagine seeing him on the bench every week and chipping in with some striker finishing coaching.

Completely disagree.

One of them is a proven top class coach (even if he didn't make the most fantastic manager) and the other is recently retired footballer.

Plus RVP is adored by the fans so would definitely overshadow the new boss.

Honestly think RVP would have been a disastrous appointment.
