19 games for Birmingham, 1 goal 2 assists. If that’s all he is getting at Birmingham what makes them think he can do it at united? Maybe I’m wrong i haven’t really watched him, is he good enough?

When Tuchel had his first off season with Chelsea, he brought in all loanees before the preseason to evaluate them for himself, the entire loan army. Chalobah and Loftus-Cheek earned a spot. He was very high on Gallagher and Broja and sent them on loan with PL teams to get another season of starting minutes. It could be that ten Hag wants to evaluate everyone MU owns for himself.

He's been decent in a shit Birmingham side playing more centrally, more decent in the "shows a lot of effort" sense than anything else though and compared to Garner's season he's nowhere near. Don't think it's enough to earn him a stretch in the first team squad next year anyway.

Pretty sure hes been one of their best players and is playing CM

Correct, blues fans loved him when he played. Regularly got their MOTM, vut got a bad injury and was out for a while. He's bloody everywhere and can press like a madman, so depending what ETH wants, he could add to the squad quite nicely.

Only 21 and already has a receding hairline bless him. He's lucky he's set for life financially!
Straight from the book where everyone should learn that cyberbullying someone for their look is not okay. Sheesh, do better!

Even Ajax and some "German clubs" have a bigger budget these days. ETH would have a second thought if this is true. And our squad is a mess. On their days, Ajax can sweep the floor with us playing like this.

Might as well keep that £20m then for the inevitable compensation we’ll have to pay ETH and his coaches when we sack them after continuing to be shite with our current shite players.

No way this is true but fair play to Chris for sticking to his guns.

It would be 20m + sales though.
Which might have been a good idea to sell Pogba before his contract runs out, a few others as well. Instead we will could be selling players who might have been of use to this manager just to get some funds together.

Absolutely ridiculous to think Ten Hag would come here with a confirmed transfer budget of 20m and 6-10 players leaving.

Next, spending the whole summer trying to sell overpriced overpaid nobody want players in vain. Then panic sign some more duds before deadline.

Agreed, but I think we'll get a fair amount for Henderson, someone like Bailly could go for a bit of cash too. Freeing up wages could mean we target players whose contracts are up or close to - which actually opens quite a lot of opportunities:

So 25m then
I personally feel we can raise a fair more than that

Would you not think this would at least stop us from wasting time on chasing over priced players?

There is no at least here.

Either you come up with the right target or you don't. Having a workable is another issue. 20mil (if true) without sale is a joke these days. Even bottom half PL teams can do better than this.

Why the new manager get punishment for his previous mess?

If we're resorting to this, RR, ETH should be better jump the ship and call out the Glazers even more. Perhaps, it's time to sell.

It's naive to suggest coming into a business, you are not burdened by all the past decisions. If it was being run well, ETH wouldn't be getting hired.

A good point on if it's true or not, because I doubt ETH would be ok with United saying "you only have 20m to spend in the summer" - unless we've already calculated worst, average and best case scenarios for him based on sales, and he was OK with that.

20 million would be enough in case our plan is to sign 6-8 players from the Bulgarian league.

Coming into new job, you should know the situation and work from there, not "being punished". If it's being run well, it wouldn't have given Ole the authority to spend as much as he did. So why U-turn now?

Nobody know at this point. I have my doubt on the 20mil figure. However, it's stupid to accept 20mil + sale with a straight face, when this club has track record of being bad at selling. Timing is also as important. Overpriced, shit deal more often than not is the panic deadline signing.

 No chance Ten Hag comes here if he's getting a £20m budget. He'd have more than that to work with at Ajax

I'm glad that this 20m budget thing is gaining traction..better to say we have nothing to spend than say we are Disneyland.... look where that has got us before. We need to stop the 'United tax' applied when we buy players.

Obviously it's nonsensical to think we will only spend 20m but no problem if everyone wants to believe it.

I mean, its so ridiculous that its pointless. Thats like going to a porsche dealership and telling them you have £10k to spend. You won't get a good deal on a porsche just because you lie about the amount you have to spend. If you have £10k they will tell you to feck off and if you have more than £10k to spend then you won't save any money by saying you don't.

I imagine we will have about £150m to spend this summer and a fair chunk of that will be based on the likes of Ronaldo, Pogba etc leaving and freeing up huge amounts of wages.

I would like to see us spend it on 4+ players who are around £40m but who have the right attitude and work ethic than on a couple that are in theory better players.

We need to build a foundation before we start to worry about finishing touches. We are losing a huge number of players this summer so there will have to be some acceptance that we need to bring in more than a few new ones.
