It already is, Woodward is out and we're getting footballing people in to key positions. I'm personally looking forward to seeing Ralf's influence over the next few years.
We are yet to see this. Said footballing people spent shit loads on Ronaldo (or was this Glazer\Woodward mandate again?) , making same mistakes as we were before it seems.

Lets see if things actually change and we didn't just promote people within again to appease fans but actually change nothing in real terms.

I don't care if he's the second coming of Pep - just keep all the ex United players away from the job.

Pretty senseless if he proves himself a worthy candidate. Ole never had a good enough managerial record and was a bad appointment. We can't judge all our ex players on how Ole went.

Big if. Right now keep them away

To be honest Varane, Sancho and Ronaldo was a good summer and they suited Ole's brand of football. Just a shame we retained a few players, that we really should have sold/ moved on and didn't get in a decent holding midfielder.

....The information comes from Youtuber Gustavo Henrique, who on his channel, comes up with the information that Manchester United have been following the 21-year-old.

“There is a situation involving João Gomes, Manchester United are watching the player. The English are willing to pay more than R$ 200m (£32m) to sign the player, it seems,” said Gustavo Henrique (via Coluna do Fla).....

Ronaldo wasn’t a good signing for the wages when we had a gaping whole at CDM
It was clearly a reactive signing based on the commercial aspect of his value. Which is why we blew our wage budget to sign him even though it was said we wouldnt do this after the Sanchez deal and after we intended to develop Greenwood centrally.

We'll give him way too much time if he ends up underachieving just because he's a club legend. I don't trust the board to be sufficiently ruthless.

Chelsea FC are normally ruthless enough and even they gave Lampard way too much time.

The clubs are probably Madrid and Spurs so you should be safe

I highly doubt it's RM. One of the only clubs in the world whose media circus is bigger than our own, so we'd have known.

I do think Ancelotti is getting the sack but they've been awfully quiet about who might replace him. Maybe they still believe in Ancelotti enough given they're winning the La Liga.

 What?!

Average player. I wouldn’t spend £10m on him, let alone £32m.

I’ve noticed a lot of talk about him recently with regards to transfer links and I find it bizarre. His agent is trying to get him to look like he’s one of the talented Brazilian kids but he really isn’t.

Genuinely just another average midfield runner. He’s not even ahead of Andreas in the Flamengo midfield.

CDM was for another window, we'd already splurged over 100 million on Varane and Sancho, we'd have been pretty screwed without Ronaldo' goals this season. Greenwood would have gotten plenty of games, had not his issues arisen. Wages weren't the issue (I don't believe) it was more spending 150 million in a window that was going to cause issues. We wanted Rice and were priced out of any move, even without Ronaldo we'd not have had the funds.

A non commercial club prioritises the gaping whole its had in defensive midfield for years. Especially when its only CDM is Matic.

It also probably avoids the injury prone Varane too

Why would we be safe if its Madrid?
Because it does not look like they will get rid of Ancelotti yet and that they're always sounding everyone out. Plus i don't think ETH would go for such a risky job after Ajax. If things go wrong he'd be booted after a year wheras United should in theory give him more time.
And Spurs, well, you know...

Varane has played over 50 games each of the last 3 seasons, so not sure where he's 'prone' to injury.
Enjoy the negativity I'm pretty much looking forward to the new direction we're taking post Woodward.

At the moment Ralf Rangnick is still involved in discussion with the board every time they decide on contracts or the managerial situation. [FabrizioRomano]

Hope he wasn't the one who adviced them to give Bruno 275K and Shaw more than 180K

Rooney has been very different in the media to class of 92.

Has he though? I only see a bunch of mentality monsters type stuff from him. About him seeing Pogba / Lingard listening to music in the dressing room after a loss and getting pissed off or sticking with Derby through lawsuits because loyalty. We've had enough of that for about five years now.

This is bog standard class of 92 stuff.

Working hard, being loyal etc. are important but I don't see how that's enough to run a club like United.

By the time we've finally sorted the manager job out a lot of the top talent looking to leave this summer will be close to being snapped up.

Not like the club have had last 4 months is it? Utter farcical how bad we are at literally everything.

You don’t care if he’s as successful as Pep, you still don’t want him because he’s an ex player? That’s called cutting your nose off to spite your face

It's obviously an exaggeration.

Primary objection:

Maybe they're trying to include players in the deal for Andreas, seeing as they clearly don't want to pay any money and better to hype up one that wouldn't sell for much anyway!

Annoys the hell out of me how Laporta can openly talk about liking players under contract elsewhere

Who are these people that "consider" this type of stuffs?

While the Football Director should mostly take care of this stuff to lessen the burden on the manager. However, at this stage where the new manager appointment is nigh, why the rush, and not let the manager has his input however little it is. You can't force the "commercial" mistake on new manager, undermining him the process for the next few years, then expect him to fix it.

RR before joint us as interim manager didn't rate Shaw. Doesn't look like much change when he now manages this squad. Would his input have any influence?

Supposed to be Tier 1 for PSV news.

Arsenal seem to be in pole position to sign Cody Gakpo the PSV attacker. Would be 40M+ which seems a bit pricey for an option on the LW unless he's capable of playing up front

This is the PSV correspondent and he's reporting the same about Arsenal looking to spend a pretty penny on signing Gakpo.

Not a transfer tweet but a thread about Romano
That guy seems to completely miss that most twitter journalists have an absolutely horrible record and copying tweets from Daily Mail journalists is not a great way to build anyone's credibility.
