Weird to think Madrid may well have the chance to sign Mbappe and Pogba for free this time next year

Starting to see a few more rumours Pogba not making any decision until next summer.....erm that is quite obviously making a decision. To me that is he wants to leave, he probably cant get the choice of club he wants in the current situation.

NO surprise to me and thse are just rumours at the moment anyway. But this is exactly why we should be looking at signing a couple of central midfielders not just one and most certainly looking to move him on for any kind of fee. It isnt about the money for me now as losing £30m worth of trransfer fee is nothing compared to giving out a £100m new contract and most importantly a split dressing room if he stays with a year left

He might have impressed him but is still not willing to offer him guaranteed first-team minutes in the league, which is what I assume Livramento is after. Seeing Hakimi heavily linked in the exact same position can't have been positive mentally either.

Chelsea is producing some fantastic players but many of them don't see a direct path to the first team it seems and are forcing Chelsea's hand to sell them with their contracts winding down. That's not to suggest Chelsea's doing anything particularly wrong, even when they lose these talents they're usually making quite a lot of money on them, but I don't blame the players for betting on themselves and going for a clearer path instead of endless loans.

I've seen quite a lot of Chelsea fans on social media blaming these players leaving for having weak mentalities and not wanting to fight for their place. Feel like that's very harsh although I understand the frustration of losing them.

I see it as positive for the player and club if they can get the contract written correctly, to benefit Chelsea. Marc Guehi’s contract has a sell on fee and Chelsea can match any offer to bring him back. If he develops to a first team player, it is good for him and Chelsea. I don’t think the biggest clubs would agree to those conditions.

I feel like we are hearing the same thing every day in regards to Varane.

But it also felt like that with Sancho, so I imagine it will get done.

From Enrique Ortego:

Real Madrid cannot remain in this economic state

They have to sell 3-4 players

They are waiting to see if they can sign Mbappé in August

The first team has 3-4 Castilla players

From Carlos Bustillo:

Odriozola is NOT in Ancelotti's plans and could go to AC Milan on loan with an option to buy.

From Eduardo Esteve:

Barcelona is opening other avenues for Griezmann

They are talking to Premier League teams with [lots of] money

From Enrique Ortego:

Barcelona not only needs Griezmann's transfer money

They [also] need the [salary] reductions of Busquets, Alba, or Sergi Roberto

if we somehow get Varane whilst giving them Dalot to reduce the fee, it will be the best thing that's ever happened in my life

Surprised then a bigger club than Brighton is not being linked with him
He's seen how Lamptey and so many other youngsters have progressed very quickly at Brighton into a regular first team players in the last couple of seasons. Potter has an excellent reputation for bringing through young players, developing their skills and giving them plenty of first team opportunities. Brighton's entire strategy is based on this as well as not holding them back if the right offers come in, hence Ben White's 50M move to Arsenal.

We're trying to do the same sort of strategy that we've seen from BvB over the last few years, many clubs are now, but thankfully we seem to be be doing it pretty well!

mate its silly season I'm excited
Remember the last time we got so excited after a good summer (no hindsight)? Yeah...Let's hope that doesn't happen again.

Anyways...

Twice it has happened after Fergie - the season where we got Schfield and the one where we got Pogba and Zlatan. Both turned out to be false dawns. However, both the times we were in significantly worse starting position. We actually have a good base to kick on right now.

16.5m for a player I've never heard of and one who's been on loan every season since joining. They really do know how to sell over there.

It is a matter of hours before United and Madrid reach an agreement for the transfer of Varane. The Frenchman is leaving, but he wants to do it in a pleasant way and very grateful to the club and Real Madrid.

Is that a full moon or a new moon?

This is happening. That too during pre-season. Genuinely believe that we're holding off on Sancho to announce both him and Varane together.

This one took a while due to the new work permit regulations - wonder how they will work that on deadline day?

Anyway Ajer from Celtic next through the door I reckon.

I can't see PSG offering 60/70 million when they can get him for free next summer.

Maybe they feel that Real Madrid may come after him next season if he is available for free and want to get him now? I agree they are likely to negotiate down the price to 40 million.
