He’s a bang average player but we’d basically have no back up at either right back or left back if we let him leave. If there was a circumstance where it made sense, I’d have nothing against us selling though.
If we sold him for 15m or 10m I'm sure there is a young LB at the club that could sit on the bench, Telles won't play except maybe cup games.

Shaw has just had is first season of remaining fully fit without injuries, £15m is nothing if god forbid he has a setback. All the talk of Telles when we signed him, I hav ebeen very underwhelmed too to be honest....but he is decent an dexperienced, Williams hasnt done enough at all last season to show he can play for 2/3months if Shaw was injured. Dalot has been pretty poor and I dont get all the plaudits on his season at Milan when he was average? Laird could be great but he hasnt played at the rigth level an dhad injury problems too for a while now. NO sense at all in sellign Telles at the moment, next summer defiantely a pssibility, £15m now...bad move

Brilliant keeper, I cant believe he is just 22 still....but that is the most important part, he is only 22 and talking about needing to try something different, after runnin gdown his cotnract so the club he loves so much gets no money....it goes to him in wages....and lets face it, he is an £80m keeper already and probably worth far more....that letter is an embarrassment in my opinion....timed it well though being a national heroe to be fair

I think average is harsh, he came with a big reputation on deadline day having had no pre-season with the team and he's got the current BITW ahead of him but I think theres a decent player in there. I certainly wouldn't want to see us let him leave.

Hmm, I doubt anyone who bought into this reputation watched him play often. My suspicion is, in keeping with the current phenomenon of reading football instead of watching it - people were drawn in by numbers. Telles is a goalscoring left-back, some of which are free kicks, some of which are long range shots. That stuff is eye catching. I think that was the starting point and then a lot of blanks were filled in from there. He’s really not that good. He has no pace, dribbling ability and isn’t a great defender either.

What's weird to me as this contract stand off with Milan was the second time too, which baffles me.

I know he was pretty much in the first team by 16 and a starter by 17, he and his agent just seem like way more hassle than they're worth.

How exactly do you know he's bang average since your experience probably comprises of seeing him a handful of times for us this season.

Posts like these makes it easy to understand why other nations wanted England to lose - god knows how much MORE hype English players would get if England won the Euros and we'd see more of these uniformed posts.

If Roma want Telles they should pay up. I’m sure Mourinho will exert some pressure if that’s what he wants.

What on earth are you on about and why does @Rozay talking about Telles trigger you to rant on about the England national team?

Bizarre.

I'd not trust Telles to play for Utd for 3 months so not much difference tbh. Can't defend at all. He's basically a fragile winger.
I don't know our youth players but I bet someone knows if there is a solid LB there.
There is no LB in the youth team (Maybe Fernandez in 2 years).

Telles is good back-up and a reason why Shaw is currently so good.

Or he could come in for Dalot who he dubbed the best young full back in Europe when we signed him. £20m should do it fella

I like Telles, but he's not great defensively. It doesn't make sense to sell or loan him unless we can find a decent replacement for around the same price. Maybe Trippier would be brought in as a back up for either fullback position when needed?
Trippier has played 5 matches as left-back in his career.....he is not a left-back option just because Southgate has played him there against Austria in a friendly and against Croatia in the Euros.

Strange if true. Bakker's been sold and
Bernat did his ACL and is injury prone. Apparently they have an agreement with Theo Hernandez, but Milan isn't willing to let him go (contract 'till 2024):

PSG mean business next season.

Getafe's Mathias Oliveira is the alternative option to Emerson Palmieri. Oliveira's preferred because of his lower wages. Getafe want 15 - 18 million Euros.

Borna Barisic of Rangers. Croatian International with a wand of a left foot. Probably get him for £10/15m

How times change, I remember the days when big name strikers left Italy to finish their careers and get a final payday in the Premiership, yes I'm looking at you Lombardo, Ravanelli, Eranio and Vialli .. even Zola was 30 when he came to Chelsea.

Total transfer cost to another club is 0. All 3 players have probably received a huge sign on fee comparable to a transfer fee.
They don't give a feck, all they have to do is hiding the fee to balance the books and escape FFP. It's hard to hide the transfer fee to another club in the market though.

I’d sell Telles and stick the money towards Nuno Mendez
Realistically how much could we get for Telles, 25M tops? Nuno would cost 40M at least and I can't imagine him agreeing to come here to compete against Shaw who is only 26.

Reality is we need either an academy player or a experienced player which is happy to sit on the bench and get some minutes here and there.

I agree, over spending on one of the few areas of the pitc isnt a problem area. I think Nuno Mendes is a fantastic young full back, was surprised he didn tget more time at the Euros and I think he will go on to be a top full back, but very much a case of right player wrong time for me

Don't have a tweet, but Mundo Deportivo has Liverpool bidding €40m for Saul Niguez.
Atletico want €50m.
