With Sancho starting to look nailed on and Varane looking likelier by the day that puts our spend around the £120-130m mark, add in a few sales like Lingard and we could have another £50m-ish to spend on a CDM (I'm going to assume we don't get Trippier and keep Dalot). What does this get us? It's definitely not Rice or Ndidi money, and Locatelli will likely choose Juve over all others.

Would be getting a top young player like Tchouameni or Camavinga be our best (only?) option with Ligue 1 clubs being in financial peril this summer and forced to sell? I'd love us to take this route, but we really haven't been linked to anyone by any decent sources when it comes to a CDM yet. If you don't count the loose, we're interested in Rice throwaway comments. Beginning to worry we won't get a midfielder once again and it'll be another season of geriatric Matic as our top reserve there.

Basically, everything is in Arsenal's hands. The player's chosen Arsenal, so unless Arsenal decide not to sign him, Lokonga won't be going anywhere else.

I haven't seen any links for us and a midfielder. Or they haven't been concrete. Thus I doubt midfielder is on the shopping list this summer.
Once Sancho is complete we'll turn our attention to a CB - hopefully Varane happens. Once that's done we'll work on players leaving and bringing a RB back up. Which might be done, might not. But it's a position that needs addressing. However I don't think Trippier deal will happen. We don't have that much money for him.
150m pounds is 170m euros. 90 for Sancho and 60 for Varane - that's us left with 20m Euros. It has to be rabbit out of a hat deal to get a Trippier/Telles type of full back. Fairly experienced and having a good whip.

Nahitan Nández's agent Pablo Bentancur on the Leeds links:
It is very likely that Nandez will leave Cagliari. He is ready for a big one. We have had many contacts. The market, however, is a bit slow due to Covid. In England someone asked for information, as well as in Italy. We are working.

Timo Werner's agent Karlheinz Förster (not sure if it's actually the former player or just a namesake) on whether Nagelsmann can convince him to join Bayern Munich:
You can’t rule out anything, but if I had to assess it at the moment, then I would say very clearly that Timo will stay at Chelsea. He feels comfortable there. A move will not be an issue in the foreseeable future. Julian let Timo play in a different position at Leipzig. A bit like Thomas Müller at Bayern. Julian and Timo appreciate each other. Of course, I don’t yet know what will happen in three or four years. Football is fast moving.

A couple of Marseille transfers:

Medical examination scheduled for the beginning of next week for Konrad de la Fuente at OM. Slight purely logistical delay for the player. The agreement is complete, finalized. 4 year contract. €3.5M. Percentage on resale for Barça.

Gerson is expected in Marseille on Sunday to undergo his medical examination Monday or Tuesday before committing 5 years with Olympique de Marseille!

Emil Krafth on his future:
I assume that I will stay. I have two years left on my contract. As it looks now, I will stay, 100 percent. Then you know that things can happen overnight when it comes to football. But I thrive very well in the club and the city. I really want to stay.

So this is what Ornstein's Tweet was based on. There's some hope that a compromise can be reached on 90 million Euros (or what Dortmund were always okay to go down to according to the German outlets).

Will Nuno's team play better football if he had at his disposal the quality that's in Tottenham right now?
They have a good chunk of decent players, besides the obvious Kane and Son, they have Lucas, Dele Ali, Bergwin, Lamela, Lo Celso, Ndombele.
It will be a curious case.

Werent they playing quite counter/transition ish under Mourhinho anyway?

Very good price if you ask me..
£108m was what they asked for last year. There's debates to be had as to whether the year wait was worth it, considering all our draws in the league, but financially we've done well here in a tight market.

So Real Madrid and Tottenham are after Kounde eh? Decisions decisions..

Diogo Dalot's father Jacinto Teixeira:
Diogo spent a year on loan at Milan and will now return to Manchester United. It was an absolutely extraordinary year for him, with a great evolution, where, above all, he managed to recover his physical form after two very serious injuries in the last two years.
