I think it is. I feel the owners had doubts over Ole last summer but, now seeing the team come closer to the league then expected they will go banana on spending to bring the title. Not that they care about the fans, but United back at the top would increase the value even more.

We are in for a mega summer spending IMO.
Can I have some of what you're smoking?

This is a clickbait Tweet with a clickbait headline. Tuchel's quotes:

I've provided every Tuchel quote in the article to avoid misleading anyone in any way.

EDIT: Here's the Guardian article covering the exact same topic. The fact that the overall theme is so similar tells me that this could be an agenda that Chelsea themselves want to push.

Chelsea would need to be the only club offering the required price...and even then Levy would not sell to Chelsea his top player. Too much bad transfer blood between the clubs.

It's not the transfer bad blood, they are direct London rivals.

That's the only way I see this unfolding, too. Our links to Rice only strengthened once Lingard was loaned out to West Ham. If West Ham can't afford to get Lingard from us, our chances of getting Rice get slimmer.

Yeah think it's a complete no go if West Ham can't afford Jesse and Romano is even suggesting any CDM very much hinges on what happens with Pogba & Donny and quite frankly that is nuts in my opinion.

The important bits are:-

“I feel like I can have another shot at the top teams, because my dream is to win things,” he says. “I’m good enough to go out there and compete with the best. If the opportunity came, I wouldn’t turn it down, because I feel like I deserve it. It’s so I can show my kids: ‘This is what daddy won.’”

Ominously concerning. Not many outgoings, players coming back from loans stronger, talking to the likes of Mata. I know he has said similar even about Sanchez. We have some really interesting yougnsters coming through, so why are we not clearing out the deadwood, sounds as if possibly no major outgoings which means no huge amount of fees incoming.

My gut feeling this summer was we would see two big signings and 1/2 smaller ones....over reacting maybe, but this makes me feel maybe one big signing and two smaller ones....fast forward 12 months and again we are talking of 3 positions need upgrading, simply not doing enough in each transfer window in or out, not ruthless or ambitous enough numbers wise, put the transfer muppetry away and prepare for another summer of disappointment, bar one signing....Why do we do it to ourselves each summer.

So ONE big signing and two small ones, who would it be?
In defence, not many, is just the clubs way of not giving much away. He knows there are far too many fringe players that need to move on. Saying 6 players have to go will result in panic stations

Of course that could be true....but without going through all the names, a fair amount of them are players have needed to be moved on for a good couple of summers before this one. Also most of them hold little value in the market either now, partly for the very reasons they have been inactive for some time

That is not concerning in any way to me. Simply OGS learning what to say to preserve the value of the club assets, giving the negotiation team better cards to play.

Yes he has a habit of saying the right things to not give too much away, time will tell. There is the changes happening as well within the board room. But every single summer for the last ten years we havent got rid of nearly enough of the deadwood and that includes SOlkjears time here. Lets not forget, Bailly has already been given a new contract which is another sign to me of certain players with value should be getting moved on wont be.

He is talking of needing 2 or 3 more strongly than before, that part is encouraging though

@Niall I have a problem while accessing transfer tweets on my mobile. The aggregator keeps crashing if it has to load 40 tweets. I am on ios 14 and using safari. Is this a universal problem or one specific to me.
P.S: Couldn't post in the help section as i fo not have posting privileges.

Hes 28, has over a decade of first team football under his belt and has scored a grand total of 68 goals. What planet is he living on thinking he‘s good enough for a top team?

he probably means Arsenal

Can he do well in a team like Leicester? or Everton? these teams are a level or 2 above C.Palace, and might help them sneak into top 4.

I don't think he's good enough for the likes of United, City, Chelsea or Liverpool.

Chelsea have done it before, a few times.

We had 3 Hazards on the books at one point. Thorgan is a good player but we also had Kylian, who was only there to keep Eden happy.

Signed the whole Musonda gang too.

Think we have a 25% sell-on fee from the sale of Zaha, hence Place stuck to their guns with a big asking price.

Most players already on loan will leave. A few big names will leave too.

Definitely gone - Pereira(both) Romero, Dalot, Chong.

LIkely gone - Mata, Matic, DDG, Lingard.

Then there could well be loans for the likes of Pellistri, Williams, Elanga, Hannibal.

If Memphis does go there I hope he does well. Always liked him and it was a shame it didn’t work out for him at United. That being said it would be even more of a shame if he went there and didn’t get any significant minutes, or started looking as underwhelming as their other recent signings have been.

I don't mean to be a pessimist but similar to Kane and City, the players price is too high for any club to get him but if West ham drops the price down and Chelsea wants him, they will get him because he'd prefer them to us and they have the funds
