Arsenal have had a good window, their forward line is going to score an absolute shiteload of goals next season - defence is rubbish, still.

We on the other hand, will have a pretty stingy defence with our newbies in place but will struggle to create and score yet again. Arsenal will probably beat lots of teams 3-2 or 4-3 this season, we'll draw a lot of games 1-1 and 0-0.

If you said to me before the transfer window began that Kroenke’s Arsenal will have spent more than us and brought in the following players, I’d say you are on drugs!

Saliba
Ceballos
Pepe
Luiz
Tierney

That for Arsenal is a very good window.
Chelsea were banned and we’re quite dithering in the market so they saw an opportunity to go for it. Could really pay off for them.

Why are Arsenal considered to have a better window than us?

They signed Pepe who still has question marks about him, for £70 Million. Ceballos on loan, who when we were linked everyone called him average and also a young CB prospect who joins next year.

If they get Luiz their defence will be just as comical. Tierney will either be a good player or average if they get him too.
Our positions of weakness pre-window were: CM x2, RW, Striker, CB, RB
Theirs: CB x2,CM,RW, LB

They've simply addressed more of their main issues. Still though, I think they will leak goals as per.

Does this mean City will sell Sane'? I know Cancelo is a RB primarily, but can also play as RW.
Pep will probably experiment with Walker more at CB like he has done in the past.

the ultimate reliability battle. Helena Condis Edo vs that chick who said Benzema to Arsenal and Pogba to Madrid.

Welcome to the champions....

Set of absolute knobheads. You dont see Juventus, Barcelona or anyone else using that bollocks do you.

€65m for Cancelo
€37m for Danilo

Juventus confirmed on their website. The asking price for Cancelo was known months ago and hasn't changed.

Nice one for the info, Damien.

So essentially Danilo + roughly £24m for Cancelo. Good deal for City that.

Saliba - Unknown quantity, no one knows if he will be any good yet.
Ceballos - Everyone on here called him average and he's a loan and not better than Ramsey
Pepe - A massive gamble at £70 million
Luiz -
Tierney - He's okay, nothing spectacular.

Us on the other hand strengthened two absolutely key positions(AWB & Maguire), kept De Gea and Pogba, signed a good prospect (James) and got rid of a player that we down want/doesn't want to be here. Despite the negativity we have had a really good window IMO. Could have shifted more deadwood granted but whatever, it will go eventually.

We've done better than Arsenal/Everton. I think the only teams that have done better than us at actually improving are Spurs and City. Liverpool haven't signed anyone and Chelsea can't obviously.

So we lost Fellaini and Herrera without replacements.
Lukaku will be gone now without a replacement.

Scary stuff

Delighted to see tha back of two of them who were awful signings in the first place and not fussed about the other. really dont think we have lost much in all three....but yes, Solkjear said about replacing departed players and we have only replaced Valencia, should certainly have been a new midfielder added

I don't rate Luiz, but seems a strange decision for Chelsea to sell him as they can't get a replacement. Their CBs will be Zouma, Christiensen and Rudiger? It looks thin and not all that convincing.

What am I missing with regards to Arsenal defense, yeah it’s not great but did they not concede less than us last year?

Hopefully our two defensive signings will change that stat but Arsenal have added quality to an attack already better than ours whilst we have just lost a quarter of our goals.

Arsenal will have to go some to finish below us.

Agreed, were removing dross one by one.

Things can only get better without these average players.

Why the feck are Everton going to finish above us? We've strengthened in 2 key positions. What have they done? Signed Kean? Why are Juve so keen to let a teenager go? Because he's overrated.

Have some faith in the team.... McTom, Greenwood, Rashford, Martial, Pogba, Maguire, AWB, De Gea, Axel, Lindelof, Dan James, Dalot.. it's a fantastic set of young players.

So many of you are fecking miserable.

McTominay - looked ok in a team performing very badly at the end of last season

Greenwood - only 17, I’ll be amazed if he makes 15 starts

Rashford - inconsistent

Axel - was playing Championship football last season

James - was playing Championship football last season

Martial - a great player when he decided to turn up

Dalot - was absolutely terrible last season

We are one injury in defence away from having one of Young, Smalling or Jones in the defence, a lack of central midfielders and one striker. It doesn’t look good to me.

Going from posts I've seen from their fans, they've felt that the treatment he has received has been awful and have backed him all the way, and want him to stay.

Too right as well, has always loved the club......and at least there fans seem to realise how crap Lukaku actually is

I disagree, I think they've papered over the cracks buy splurging on a new winger and totally neglected their awful defence. They have barely improved their starting eleven and we have improved ours substantially.

Azpilequeta (Spelt wrong) can player CB.

The only strategy that can fix things at this point is signing another inside left forward. I expect Woodie to roll in with a duffel bag with 220 million in cash, and Darmian's mangled body inside. Then proceed to dump it out on Mohammed Bin Wiz Khalifa's desk.

And yet they don't have money for Pogba.
I think there is a difference in the willingness to sell in both cases. I think PSG would happily dump Neymar if a good enough offer came in whereas we've been purposely setting a high price for Pogba to discourage Madrid.

Exactly how I see it. Young/Smalling/Jones/Matic/Mata/Lingz/Pereira all way too close to the first XI still.

They have realised they have been taken to the cleaners, robbed blind by Chelsea. I predict him to be one of the biggest flops of the season. He's already started piling on the pounds.

Neymar is a even bigger mercenary than Hazard though.

And he will cost a absolute bomb surely.

Hyperbole much? Some people are really blinded by their dislike of this guy. Wasn't great for us, but also wasn't as poor as you claim he was.

Disagree, virtually torn my hair out in frustration at just how poor he is, I cant believe people have backed him for us not even considering the attitude or fitness problems. I wouldnt say 30years like the post you responded to, but he is definately up there, especially considering the fee
