Agree, hi sinjury was such a shame. I think people neglect the effect he seemed to have on the dressing room. We finished 2nd with him in the side, bought as striker not fit to lace his boots and those things alone are part of the reason we have faded again so poorly since....one of many reasons of course
 
Tierney for £25m is great business. Arsenal have had a great window. One centre back away from perfect imo.

If Tierney is a crock sure, but if he’s healthy you won’t be saying that come Christmas. Everyone here knows Shaw isn’t up to it and have just been too busy dealing with all the others who aren’t up to it.

Fair comment, is just opinions after all. I do think he has his good points, but his consistency and bad points are so so bad personally he can never be considered world class.

Think the last world cup summed him up. Seam rollered some sides when they were dominating, but the game they got knocked out in I remember him giving the ball away and flopping in front of goal. If they had a quality, consistent striker with good technical ability, they would have won that world cup for sure I believe

I don’t think swaps are really a thing. There will be a value put on the player switching teams. I guess it was 35m euros?

Werent Juve valuing Cancelo at around £50m? I think Danilo's been valued at around £20-25m in this deal.

Edit: Still, a player who's barely played for City, or anything meaningful, going for a substantial fee like that is crazy. If anyone here legitimately valued Jones at £25m they'd get laughed at but he's done more than Danilo.

Arsenal have signed Pepe, Tierney (almost) and Ceballos but lost Ramsey and Koscielny. Pepe is a massive gamble IMO and Ceballos is a downgrade on Ramsey. Tierney could be good if he stays injury free but who knows right now. They got Saliba too obviously but I'm not counting him because hi's staying out on loan and is still an unknown quantity.

David Luiz is a liability.

Our squad is a bit weaker but our starting XI has improved more than theirs.
 
The Cancelo/Danilo values are inflated. Juve need it to balance their books.

Turin, 7 August 2019 - Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that these agreements have been finalized with Manchester City Football Club:

• definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Danilo Luiz da Silva for a consideration of € 37 million payable in three financial years. Juventus and the player have signed a 5-year contract of employment until 30 June 2024;
• definitive disposal of the registration rights of the player João Pedro Cavaco Cancelo for a consideration of € 65 million to be paid in three financial years. The economic effect is positive for about € 28.6 million, net of solidarity contribution and auxiliary expenses.
