Could have just paid it at the start of the window and given him time to settle in. What a waste of time.

This is the worst part. How many weeks ago did we have that bid rejected? 2 weeks, was it? Something like that.

Why didn't we either a) return a few days later with a higher bid, or b) move swiftly onto a new target?

Why has Woodward and co just been sitting there until several days before the window closes before going back to the well with a higher bid?

Hahaha, the early deadline that everybody knew was in place for about one year, right?

That better not be Ole. It really had better not be Ole. Because that sounds like something a Yes Man would say. Hmmm....

It is how we seem to operate. Crazy stuff. He could have been on our tour and building up and understanding, all to save a few quid, except we haven't.

What rubbish. You can spin anything he says then I guess.

Is that Ole?

edit: for whatever reason the video didn't appear until I've opened it on twitter.

Yes.

I presume is the English Premier League market always going to close the day before the season starts or is it always going to be up for a vote whether it will close on that fate or not?

I prefer it to end on the 31st Aug/1st Sep.

Seriously just get the feck out of here with this "early window" bullshit, every club in the country has to operate under the same timeline. Demand we do the fecking business, do the fecking business which we should have done weeks and weeks ago...:wenger:

Except, we haggle and then end up paying the original price anyway.

Haggling is making an offer and when they come back with something ridiculous, walk away. One side has to reduce their price, otherwise it isn't haggling.
I know that, you know that, unfortunately the club have not got the hang of it.

£90m is fecking madness. I genuinely think we'd be better going to Burnley for Tarkowski, save £50m and there wouldn't be much difference between then.

Woodward must be shitting his pants right now. Just Kidding. I think for United, it will be Dybala and Maguire. Plus we keep Pogba. That would be a fantastic summer window. Even though we didn’t address the right attack midfield role.
And signed up Rashford and De Gea. It’s not all grim.

So do we have a different deadline to arsenal and spurs who don't seem to have a problem making signings?
He wasn't making an excuse, he was asked a question about the deadline and said we (assuming the Premier league) have the short straw because the rest of Europe can still try to make bids for the our player.

Sky have just push the 2 quotes together from different sentences.

It's been a deflating day so far.

That Bruno news is horrific and that line from Ole is nothing short of a joke.

Things will start turning really sour among the fanbase if something good doesn't happen soon.

Ole. You have to open the tweet itself to see the video. We knew we had the early deadline all fecking summer.

Cheers. Yeah, Ole is doing a wonderful job of suppressing his undoubted frustration.
