If this were true wouldn't it mean Sporting now have to pay Fernandes €5 million?
So? They asked him his opinion and he gave it. Sky took 2 different quotes and merged them to make it seem like one. Typical journalist bull.
With few exceptions like Ronaldo, we're not a "selling club" so resale value is pretty meaningless to us. If he succeeds he'll be at United until his career is winding down.Man, who will come out of this better? £90m for Maguire is the textbook definition of being mugged. Can’t see any resale value in that but let’s hope adding the most expensive defender in football history will win us lots of trophy.
He was asked his opinion on the deadline, he didn't bring it up. He didn't say he was surprised.
Just sky doing shitty clickbait tricks by sandwiching and 2 quotes together for a reaction. By looks of the post on this thread it has worked.
Oh right. I didn't get the joke. Thanks for explainingI was just joking with you mate
I totally agree with you!
I was just thinking that not having to use more money now cause we have to pay more is Ed and the Glazers wet dream.
News reports made today stating that Leroy Sané has decided to join FC Bayern do not correspond to the facts.
Oh right. I didn't get the joke. Thanks for explaining
Hope to feck this is just crap. If we don't get sign him after we have had free reign on him. Would really p!ss me offTottenham actually bidding a second time for Bruno Fernandes when United need him more but aren't interested....Can this window just end? I wish I can unlove this club but I just can't.
You’ve had 77 days. The sheer incompetence of the club is staggering.
Thanks. RespectIrony on the internet is hard to get sometimes, my bad mate

So if Spurs bid for Bruno 45m and it was according to medai rejected, they have to pay him 5m right? So what now, price goes even higher or what if another team now bids over his release clauase and they reject again?
Some reports earlier in the summer were about this being a difficult deal due to the release clause since no one wants to upset player/agent/clubs or something like that. I don't know, now I feel like I'm rambling, just trying to get my head around this one. Hope we go for him as well as Dybala/Maguire
Probably didn't make an official bid.If this were true wouldn't it mean Sporting now have to pay Fernandes €5 million?

It's the opposite of incompetence, mate. It's very competent work.
This was the plan all along and everything has gone to plan. We've spent feck all and only intend on spending more if Lukaku and/or Pogba leave (although conveniently, this would still be next to impossible with only days left in the window).
Woodward hasn't got to where he is today by being incompetent, lads. Everything he does is intentional. This was his intention - hire a low maintenance manager, give him little funds, get him to get the fans onside by playing youth and claim the future looks bright etc....

Just listening to SSN and the way they were talking about it sounded more like a proposal rather than an actual bid.Should an official bid be backed with a payment guarantee (bank guaranty issued etc)?

It's not our board's fault that you believe the garbage the press spew on a daily basis.Same boat as you, our board makes me sick honestly. Not just that but the treatment of our fans, you have the biggest fan base in the world and yet we get messed around every fecking day
I'd imagine so. So sort of a revocable deposit is quite likely.

I would add to this and say 'pack your bags, you've been a disgrace to man utd'Sorry. Mr. Woodward I would advise you to start negotiating as soon as the window opens, in fact start the groundwork before then. I think you will find things will progress with a lot less stress for yourself and the fans.
What was promised? To my knowledge, Ole said he hopes to have another couple of faces in before the window closes. The window hasn't closed yet.But I believe interviews and press conferences which have promised far more than what we have now...

yup. The Sky tweet with the short quote is intentionally worded that way, of course. Too bad many fans just blindly follow and crap on Ole too.The quote on that tweet is misleading. If you watch the video Ole actually says he's not in favour of the window closing earlier than the rest of Europe as European clubs can hover around your players for a few more weeks. He doesn't say anything about not having enough time to sign players.
Sporting may have been using us to try and sell an asset that they no longer want. This was @Judas theory and I'm starting to believe it too unfortunately.
His worry must be the situation surrounding Pogba. We can't replace him if he leaves after the deadline and we can't replace him now in case he doesn't.The quote on that tweet is misleading. 90m now??
If that fee is true then we are being absolutely rinsed by Leicester. Not going to complain too much though, we really need him.
