So we don't let Pogba leave even though he wants to go and we lose Herrera on a free. We were absolutely useless the last few months of the season with our midfield being outshone by every team we faced and our fowards couldn't hit a cows ass with a banjo. So of course Pogba will be crowded at every opportunity as no one else can create or control a game and we will then struggle to score and just crumble with our weak mentality. At least we will be fitter though!

So if we are not in for Bruno we are just going to ignore midfield all together then and just go for a forward who Juventus want out but doesnt want to leave. All whilst still not being able to sign fecking slab head. .

I guess we are adding Spurs to the list of teams we know we can't catch and only have eyes for Arsenal and Chelsea to get that 4th spot. Good luck Ole.

Anyway rant over. Roll on 8th August.

Bruno to Spurs, Dybala says no thanks and Inter only stump up 50 million plus food vouchers so Lukaku stays.

I'd be getting Rom on some serious cardio work.

Cheers. Yeah, Ole is doing a wonderful job of suppressing his undoubted frustration.

I honestly don't know what Woodward thinks he's doing. We've had over a year to get players in. You can scout and talk to players at any point, then buy them when the window options. We should have done at least 4 deals by now and a centerback had to be the first one. With Fernandes and Ndombele, Spurs will be challenging City and Liverpool for top two. With Pepe and Tierney Arsenal will be much stronger. We'll be lucky to get 4th even with Harry Maguire.

So it seems clear that the two faces that Ole was talking about are Maguire and Longstaff. We did not have any alternatives to them all summer which is astonishing for a club of our size and both Ole and the scouting network are to blame for not being able to identify alternatives. Dyabala if he comes is just a replacement for Lukaku we were lucky enough to stumble into. Hererra and Fellaini have not been replaced so replacing players that have left was a lie told by the club as well.

So Dele Alli, Eriksen and Bruno? Plus the Lo Celso rumors. Hmm, don't see how they can all fit together into the same lineup unless they have a very good DM. But, if they manage to find good balance, the creativity and goal threat in that side would be something else.

Maguire and Longstaff for a combined fee of 140 mill  that right there is why we are sixth, constantly overpaying for average players. It's the same story this summer, the only difference is that the players are all English

We are going to pay astonishingly stupid money for both aren't we?

We've had the whole year to worry about the early window. I don't put much stock into official comments from managers, but if this is the excuse we'll choose to run with it, for a potentially underwhelming window, it is the dumbest excuse we could've possibly come up with.

Hey, he's our director of football. You can't talk to him like that.
Sorry. Mr. Woodward I would advise you to start negotiating as soon as the window opens, in fact start the groundwork before then. I think you will find things will progress with a lot less stress for yourself and the fans.

Maybe it's the quality of our negotiating and planning that is not helping us.

May 16th the window opened. 77 days ago!
Did you even listen to what he said? He's talking about the fact that clubs from other leagues can still disrupt our players even after our buying window ends. He's not talking about insufficient time to conclude deals on our end.

The Caf when Sky Sports tweet about United news. “Sky are clueless, etc, etc...”

The Caf when Sky Sports tweet about any other club. “feck my life. We are hopeless. We’re going to be relegated.”

Other clubs seem to manage. It isn't as though the transfer window shutting early is a surprise.
Even if you accept all that, you accept you'll have to manage, you accept that it isn't a surprise and you have known of this a long time and planned accordingly. Does that mean you can not be of the opinion of a transfer window closing early is a bad idea and a clear disadvantage put upon any PL club?

It’s really frustrating isn’t it? We have nearly gone through a whole transfer window with only two new players. AWB was signed a month ago, we should have had Maguire wrapped up shortly after.

Not sure what’s wrong with Ed, his time management? Negotiation skills? Really incompetent on the football side of business.

Just how is it “clear” - There’s been no indication that that’s who we’ve been targeting, we haven’t been linked with longstaff for weeks now!

Literally don’t understand people’s opinions on Man Utds transfer dealings.

Whenever there’s bad news or rumours it’s always classed as gospel and 100% fact.

There’s been literally 0 indication that that’s only who we’ve been targetting.

There’s string links ti Dybala so is that fake too?

Re: Bruno, yes he would improve us. But could sporting have been doing what Lille did with Pepe and use our name to increase the price??

Yes but this is not a surprise it was obvious.

Will be another brilliant signing for them and yet another step further forward that us..

If (and it's a big if) this is true and spurs are about to sign him surely this ends di marzios god like status around these parts. He went in on this yesterday and it means hes as reliable as the others.

Brendan Rogers and Mike Ashley have confirmed our clear interests which has been backed by BBC. Dybala I have already said if it happens is something we have lucked into rather than any masterstroke.

Is that you Ed?

Why would you say that, I don't understand? Please explain?

I've always said we should do business at the beginning of the window to give players the a better chance to get used to Ole's methods and gel with the team and also what I said in the previous comment that teams will ask for more towards the end of the window which p!sses me off.

So? They asked him his opinion and he gave it. Sky took 2 different quotes and merged them to make it seem like one. Typical journalist bull.

I meant just those two players and only those two players, which is what the original post implied

Do we think that spurs are low balling sporting to try and force Betis to sell Lo Celso cheaper?

He was asked his opinion on the deadline, he didn't bring it up. He didn't say he was surprised.

Just sky doing shitty clickbait tricks by sandwiching 2 quotes together for a reaction. By looks of the posts on this thread it has worked.

I was just joking with you mate:lol:

I totally agree with you!

I was just thinking that not having to use more money now cause we have to pay more is Ed and the Glazers wet dream.
