Well except Maguire was 2 and a half years younger than Tarkowski when he moved to Leicester.I wondered about this. Tarkowski could be like signing Maguire before he went to Leicester.

Cheers. Yeah, Ole is doing a wonderful job of suppressing his undoubted frustration.
It is a stupid excuse. Start your negotiations earlier then and be decisive about them. Stop fecking dithering.
Maguire and Longstaff for a combined fee of 140 mill that right there is why we are sixth, constantly overpaying for average players. It's the same story this summer, the only difference is that the players are all EnglishSo it seems clear that the two faces that Ole was talking about are Maguire and Longstaff. We did not have any alternatives to them all summer which is astonishing for a club of our size and both Ole and the scouting network are to blame to not being able to identify alternatives. Dyabala if he comes is just a replacement for Lukaku we were lucky enough to stumble into. Hererra and Fellaini have not been replaced so replacing players that have left was a lie told by the club as well.
We are going to pay astonishingly stupid money for both aren't we?So it seems clear that the two faces that Ole was talking about are Maguire and Longstaff. Sorry. Mr. Woodward I would advise you to start negotiating as soon as the window opens, in fact start the groundwork before then. I think you will find things will progress with a lot less stress for yourself and the fans.Hey, he's our director of football. You can't talk to him like that.
Did you even listen to what he said? He's talking about the fact that clubs from other leagues can still disrupt our players even after our buying window ends. He's not talking about insufficient time to conclude deals on our end.Maybe it's the quality of our negotiating and planning that is not helping us.
May 16th the window opened. 77 days ago!
Yeah I know, I was just poking fun at all the "Oh it's only July/we have time" comments. You realize the window closes in about a week for PL teams?
Even if you accept all that, you accept you'll have to manage, you accept that it isn't a surprise and you have known of this a long time and planned accordingly. Does that mean you can not be of the opinion of a transfer window closing early is a bad idea and a clear disadvantage put upon any PL club?Other clubs seem to manage. It isn't as though the transfer window shutting early is a surprise.
Agreed. In my opinion we shouldn't do business at the end of the window because at that point clubs know we are desperate and could add a few £m to the fee.We are going to pay astonishingly stupid money for both aren't we?

That does need sortingHe referred to it not helping us with clubs potentially still looking to sign our players due to their windows still being open?
That does need sorting
I honestly don't know what Woodward thinks he's doing. We've had over a year to get players in. You can scout and talk to players at any point, then buy them when the window options. We should have done at least 4 deals by now and a centerback had to be the first one. With Fernandes and Ndombele, Spurs will be challenging City and Liverpool for top two. With Pepe and Tierney Arsenal will be much stronger. We'll be lucky to get 4th even with Harry Maguire.
.

The Caf when Sky Sports tweet about United news. “Sky are clueless, etc, etc...”
The Caf when Sky Sports tweet about any other club. “feck my life. We are hopeless. We’re going to be relegated.”

Will be another brilliant signing for them and yet another step further forward that us..
Brendan Rogers and Mike Ashley have confirmed our clear interests which has been backed by BBC. Dybala I have already said if it happens is something we have lucked into rather than any masterstroke.Just how is it “clear” - There’s been no indication that that’s who we’ve been targeting, we haven’t been linked with longstaff for weeks now!
Literally don’t understand people’s opinions on Man Utds transfer dealings.
Whenever there’s bad news or rumours it’s always classed as gospel and 100% fact.
There’s been literally 0 indication that that’s only who we’ve been targetting.
There’s string links ti Dybala so is that fake too?
This 100%
Re: Bruno, yes he would improve us. But could sporting have been doing what Lille did with Pepe and use our name to increase the price??
Is that you Ed?
So? They asked him his opinion and he gave it. Sky took 2 different quotes and merged them to make it seem like one. Typical journalist bull.Yes but this is not a surprise it was obvious.

He was asked his opinion on the deadline, he didn't bring it up. He didn't say he was surprised.Yes but this is not a surprise it was obvious.
Why would you say that, I don't understand? Please explain?
I've always said we should do business at the beginning of the window to give players the a better chance to get used to Ole's methods and gel with the team and also what I said in the previous comment that teams will ask for more towards the end of the window which p!sses me off.
