@Suedesi cheers for that. Reads to me like he doesn't fancy the premier league at all, but due to being tossed out will consider it if the plan going forward is what he wants and if he gets handsomely paid for it.

Bit worried this one turns out like Di Maria, but hopefully we can convince him and he truly buys into it.

If he didn’t want to come to the premier league then why wouldn’t he just stay at Juve. He’s under no obligation to come. He could do what Bale is doing at Real and dig his heels in, and he would still get a lot of first team appearances at Juve. I think he’s open to the move personally. He could also push for a move elsewhere if he was really desperate to leave Juve and not come to England. I bet Bayern would take in an instant.

He's more being pushed out rather than wanting to leave. And it literally says in the article he'd rather wait for PSG or Real/Barce.

I'd love him here as I've always been a fan, but there are concerns given what happened last time we signed someone who wasn't so keen.

Actually no you have to give some logic as to why its not sustainable. Just posting a large sum and saying its not sustainable is not an argument.

It's not really a question of sustainability but you should not pay someone more than they are worth just because you can afford to.

The Bees putting together a tasty little squad, pretty exciting tbf.

They look like they're about to lose their man man though but i'm sure they have a solution lined up long ago given they are so well run.

I don't see him as the type to move abroad. Granted he was younger but he struggled to adapt just being out of London. I can see him staying put and possibly joining Chelsea next summer.

I have my doubts aswell over his desire to join us to be honest. Hopefully he has pride and determination to give his all. I can’t imagine Ole settling for any less.

Thanks man, here's another good summary from La Stampa. Translating on the fly for my fellow caftards...

The eternal challenge between Inter and Juventus is inflaming the market. The two clubs do not seem to spare themselves provocations and mischief. Linked to a timeless rivalry, the two clubs only challenge each other for the biggest prizes, and this is exacerbated by the presence on both fronts of Beppe Marotta at Inter and his former pupil Fabio Paratici at Juve.

The two clubs now encircle Romelu Lukaku, Antonio Conte's main transfer objective, valued at 85 million by Manchester United and therefore considered unattainable by Inter, but closer to Juventus that can make a swap with Paulo Dybala. The advantage rests with Juve but twists and turns are not excluded from here until August 8 when the transfer market closes for the Premier League.

Dybala would not want to leave Turin, he had communicated this to the club hierarchy and he was hurt learning that he was on the market. In reality, Juve simply evaluates any bids received for any of its attackers, except Ronaldo who's untouchable. If Dybala had to move, he wouldn't have dreamt of the Premier League, which is too physical for his characteristics, he would definitely prefer La Liga. But there is a glimmer of hope, so much so that his agent Jorge Antun flew to London yesterday to discuss with United's top management of the Red Devils, who are willing to offer 8 million per year (the request is for 10).

[Note: since this Italian source, we are talking ANNUAL, EUROS and NET.]

Inter, which has offered 60 million for Lukaku - with the idea to go up to 70 million, has frozen negotiations - at least temporarily - and has diverted its gaze towards Edinson Cavani of Paris Saint-Germain, whose contract will expire in June 2020. Nasser Al-Khelaifi's club is asking for 50 million EUROS, a more affordable figure, but the Uruguayan earns 14 million per season in France and Inter are willing to go up to 10 million.

So far, so good. However, the issue remains Dybala's signature. The Argentine, expected tomorrow at the Continassa, before saying the last word wants to meet Maurizio Sarri and reaffirm his full willingness to play the "false nine" role. That's why, in this Milan-Turin-Manchester entanglement we must not exclude further surprises. Inter, pressed by Conte, who has no strikers and is aware of how hard it is to fill the gap ("In Italy there is a team called Juventus that has built so much and behind them it's Napoli, we Inter want to join the fray" said Conte a few days ago), is also looking towards Edin Dzeko: however, Roma has not responded to Inter because Roma is waiting to meet the entourage of Gonzalo Higuain, who is seen as first choice in case Dzeko departs.

This, however, is another story, parallel to the mystery novel intrigue in which Lukaku and Dybala are the main actors. Yet another story involves Mauro Icardi, another striker destined to set petroleum to the fire between Inter and Juventus: Icardi is unwanted by Conte, but Juve want him and so does Napoli. The price set is 80 million: no discounts, unless Dybala refuses United and decides to wear Inter's jersey.

Maupay you mean?

My understanding is the exit doors have been closed at Griffin Park unless somebody comes in with silly money before the end of the window. For Maupay that's going to be £20+m plus addons, at this stage that's what it would take given our asking price has always been £20m.

I didn't see the article, is their quotes from the Dybala or just a journalist claiming this is fact?

Currently being paid equivalent of 5.9 million pounds a year, and so it sounds like he's asking to be paid 7.6 million pound a year. Considering Pogba's on 15 million a year, something is odd here.
Nothing is odd, wages in countries like Italy and Spain are always reported NET which means it would be close to Pogba's in UK.

Fair enough. I doubt this is really about contract negotiations. It's probably only about whether or not he fancies it. Money plays a part, but surely he'll need to be convinced about where we're going and how we're going to get there.

Cool I didn't know you were a Brentford fan. Yeah meant Maupay. Brighton are supposed to be sniffing and I can see it going through. They are lacking a reliable striker so I can see them meeting the kind of figures being talked about.

Sky doing a call to arms getting as many to regurgitate the same story alas at this point I'll believe it when I see it

Dybala's wages are net. Pogba is gross.

We get Maguire and Newcastle agree to £25m plus Tuanzebe on a one year loan for Longstaff.

The major complication with that one is their owner and our owner don't like each other at all, they used to be in business but had a massive falling out a few years ago. So they'd have to pay even more :) but to be honest if the figures are met he will go - we don't stand in players ways if our values are met. At the moment I am calm about it though :)

Really wanted to see him in a United shirt but we’ve moved on to McBurnie. Seemed like we were undecided between both considering they likely would cost similar amounts.

DYBALA’S WAGE EXPLAINED

https://www.capology.com/club/juventus/salaries

He is currently earning £213,663 per week Gross (£11.1m per year), which equates to £115,378 after Tax.

If he is looking a 30% increase, it means his demands are £277,761.90 per week Gross (£14.4m per year). All wages are detailed in England as Gross.

To give some perspective, Pogba earns £290,000 per week (£15.08m per year) and Lukaku earns £200,000 per week (£10.4m per year).

Therefore, Dybala is requesting £4m more per year than we are currently paying Lukaku.
