An extra £80m?! :lol::lol:

Hardly like it's an insignificant sum. How can they be so far apart in what each other thinks they're owed?
It's the clause drop thing, they think they're entitled to the original clause being paid because they believe Griezmann agreed to join Barca before the clause dropped to £108m.

Barca officially activated the clause via the usual channels after July 1st and as such, this was when the player's contract at Atletico was effectively null and void due to the release clause.

I can see Atletico's angle, but I don't think they have a chance to get that extra 80m to be considered payable.

His release clause was €200m until a certain date when it then dropped to €120m. Think Atleti are basically saying Barca waited until after it dropped to sign him but agreed the deal with him when it was still €200m so they're wanting the amount they'd have received if paid at the time it was agreed.

Can't see Athletico coming out on top in that one!

Great signing for Barca!

Potential front 3 of Neymar, Griezman and Messi. Suarez, Dembele or Coutinhio off to PSG then?

I knew it was overwhelming the first time around, but I thought hindsight had turned things around, but I was wrong:

The vote was 15 to 5 with only 14 votes being required at the time to change it.
Since then, 2 of the 15 clubs would like to reverse their vote.

It still does not really benefit the "smaller" clubs that much though does it, now they can say player x is available, but only for 50-100m. It still gives European clubs advantage of Premier League clubs.

I expect this issue to be at the forefront as soon as the window is about to close and until the end of August. Surely they'll address this again.

Hes going to flop IMO.. big galactico signings aren't the way to go always.

Random guess, but I suppose anything is possible in football.

I reckon he will be a good signing and will chip in with about 20/25 goals next season. Suarez is on a downward trajectory, so Griezmann can fill in the striker role when Suarez is benched/rested.

When your rivals buy Hazard, Griezmann isn’t a bad response.

I was initially for the close prior to the league starting but only if all leagues were the same. Since leagues all start at different times perhaps they need to make the domestic league’s window close to buying/selling within that league with clubs still able to buy from other leagues.

I hate when that sammy account is posted, especially when it uses shit sources

Ian McGarry and Duncan Castles are fairly decent. The transfer podcast they have going is always worth a listen.

That twitter account is also underrated, puts all the sources in one place. Never understand the bitching about it.

He will not move soon from Juventus (real question is will he ever consider move from Juventus)... His clause next year will be 150mil euro and it will raises every year (probably will raise by 20mil)... he will have the biggest net salary that have any defender in the world... no way that some football club will pay for example after three year 210 mil euro for de ligt and give him 16 mil net or similar... Juventus will easy match every salary (and give even bigger) which could he got in future because there is big advantage for Juventus which is contain in Italy tax law (tax rate is only 25%). Raiola always can earning his money from signing new contracts and from bonuses of loyalty... in every case he will earns money from Juventus.

They routinely feck up quotes, put them out of context or just post very obvious garbage. Just post the original source, not some nobody with a twitter account.

De Ligt hasn't gone to pre-season training camp with Ajax. Verweij is also confirming the deal has been completed. Only thing he can't verify yet is the exact transfer sum. So that's the most reliable Dutch and Italian journalists confirming the deal. Definitely done.

@SUFC_tweets: The Blades have paid a substantial undisclosed fee to land Republic of Ireland international Callum Robinson from Preston North End.

The 24-year-old forward has penned a four-year deal at Bramall Lane and becomes boss Chris Wilder's third signing of the summer.
