@SUFC_tweets: The Blades have paid a substantial undisclosed fee to land Republic of Ireland international Callum Robinson from Preston North End.

The 24-year-old forward has penned a four-year deal at Bramall Lane and becomes boss Chris Wilder's third signing of the summer.

Then just give us Brozovic plus some cash. Deal done and we get a proper midfielder that can control the tempo.

It definitely happened, Jose was moaning about it so much last summer.

Inter are in the Champions League and have a top manager. They are not going to weaken themselves.

The difference being we want to get rid of Lukaku and Leicester and Newcastle don't wanna lose Maguire and Longstaff respectively.

Is this the financial genius of Ed?

Who said we want to get rid? He said he wants to go not us. So there’s no difference.

If you don't think Ole wants a different kind of striker in I dunno what you've been smoking. If we go into next season with Lukaku we're not making top 4 and Ole knows this.

Of course he won't come out and say it, but United aren't particularly fighting to convince Lukaku to stay like Pogba for example. And according to reports we already have a deal for Ben Yedder lined up to replace Lukaku. That deal going through will be the difference between us making top 4 or not.

Doesn’t matter. Inter and especially Conte want Lukaku just as much as we want Maguire and Longstaff. It’s a sellers market.

We don't need players who choose the easy option at United. We have already got to many who thought that and look where it's got us.

We need players ready for a challenge.

Do they though? I know Icardi has issues but he still wants to stay and is no worse than Lukaku.

Yes they do. Icardi wants out and Lukaku is seemingly their sole striker target. Conte has told Inter he wants Lukaku going by all the reports. All of which means United has every right to stick to their asking price. Inter opened the bidding at £64m, so it would be downright silly to accept the first offer. I’m sure United can squeeze another £10-£15m out of them.

Lukaku will bang goals in for fun in Italy.

Still cant understand why we ain't all over this transfer, I guess Solskjear prefers "Jonah" over him
Probably wants a long contract at a high enough wage. If we won’t give that to Herrera I doubt we’d give it to him.

£90m? we got quoted £50 on a 30 year old winder 2 years ago.

We would have paid £130m for him knowing Ed.

He wasn’t thirty two years ago. People need to let go of this Perisic thing. Inter didn’t want to sell one of their best players and were in a strong position to ask for top money. Lukaku has played like shit, gotten worse, isn’t first choice for us and has said he wants to move to Italy. All of these things mean we are in a weaker negotiating position. Plus his wages will likely be huge, meaning the club buying him will have to spend even more money, unlike Perisic who was probably only much lower wages.

Of course we can still name our price and refuse to sell. No problem. But that leads to no more attacking reinforcements and an unmotivated Lukaku.

Simon Stone: Belgium forward Romelu Lukaku looks increasingly likely to be staying at Manchester United.
It had been expected Inter Milan would try and sign Lukaku. However, there has been no bid tabled so far. Even if one were to be, United would want in excess of the £75m they paid Everton for him two years ago....the club would not allow the second most expensive player in their history to leave without making a profit.

A tweet wasn't loading. Then i checked and it was posted by Fridge chutney. I was like "praise the lord! :D"

Good, happy for fatty to stay for another year. He's still good for goals against the fodder

But surely with roma trying to get him for even less than his buy out clause they cant exactly be throwing the money at him in terms of wages so I doubt he will be asking for much higher wages than what we give that deadwood Phil Jones and at least Alderweireld is a competent defender and isn't dreadfully old for a defender.

Seems like we are now demanding 90m for Lukaku.

I mean fair enough but at the end of the Summer we’ll end up with shit players who we can’t shift as nobody will pay the price for them and no new players as we won’t pay the price for them. Doesn’t sound great.

Really hope Lukaku staying is true.. Genuinely think he'll score more if we didnt defend so shit.. which made us play deep/not attack ..

There is no point letting him go.. stay on.

Then let's hope AWB is not the only defensive signing and we strengthen the midfield. Because if Ole thinks one RB is enough he is a bit deluded. I would welcome Maguire with open arms at this stage. Midfield we seem to be linked to all the midfielders on the planet.

See what happens when this club keeps making stupid drastic actions and selecting managers with different styles from the one before everytime, our bargaining power for getting rid of Lukaku is weak because it was made obvious that Solskjear doesn't fancy him, this club need to get its act together and build the attack around Lukaku's strengths next season and bring in a competent winger or two because benching him for most of next season in favour of Rashford being our main striker is going to decrease his sell on value even more next summer and then we will have to end up in an even weaker bargaining position to get any where near decent money for him and he will handicap the team setup next next season when we he's called up on considering he doesn't fit the style Solskjear wants to implement.
