If true, this is absolutely typical of United’s luck in the transfer market.

It must be the only time in history that Mike Ashley hasn’t bit the hand off the first offer.

It isn't luck. We target the wrong players and take too long to get deals done. If we wanted him it should have gone months ago just like any other top club does. They just sold Ayoze Perez for £30m. How can a guy with 9 first team appearances be worth £20m more than him. Offer our maximum and look elsewhere before we miss out on other targets.

We use to miss out on the likes of Vidal and Fabregas, now its fecking Longstaff. Depressing times.

Well, the relative difference is probably smaller for Lukaku considering the amounts.

As much as I would like to stick it to the Italians, I rather get rid of Lukaku while we can fetch a fair sum.

Why? We would have one actual striker in the squad in Rashford and it's debatable if he's even good enough to play up front.

Italian journalist Alvise Cagnazzo for the Daily Mail warns United’s demands of £150m (€167m) have put off the Bianconeri, who informed the Red Devils that they ‘intend to pursue other targets’.

Consequently, Cagnazzo claims Real Madrid now have a ‘clear run’ at the signing the Frenchman, although Los Blancos still have to sell before they can buy.

We're apparently only negotiating one transfer deal at a time. Currently we're working on Maguire.

Because the only striker we've been linked with has a release clause. Activating it now, would weaken our negotiating position with inter, who is the only club realistically interested in Lukaku.

Because we wont have enough money out of the 100 mill kitty to buy a defender and striker.

Well he was top goalscorer apart from Pogba (who took all the penalties) in a season where he came back from the world cup 10 stones heavier and had the worst personal season ever and was unloved when Ole took charge and benched. And a as a team we were 6th and useless apart from 2 months. Not bad if you ask me.
You make a valid point in bold which I agree with. I can't understand why he felt he need to bulk up so much? I also agree on the part of us being crap besides that two month spell when we were amazing mate.

Arsenal are looking like they're in a right mess. Now Spurs are outbidding them for players.

If true then that says to me we're bending over the the club that shafted us when we tried to sign not only Perisic two years ago but also Sneijder 10 years ago

Why are we such a soft touch?

Nobody is paying what we want for Lukaku and definitely not in one lump sum. This was a poor investment from the start, this is what we will have to do if we want to get anything for him.

Does anyone know if Alvise Cagnazzo reliable please? Hope this is not true as I would have like Sandro and Dybala for Pogba

If it ends up being spread over a loan then think we'll end up asking for more money than if it was just straight cash.

I think we'll at least get our money back, but let's wait and see.

He'll be one to watch next season. If he can be consistent he'll be a hell of a signing.

Holy shit. What are we actually doing? A winger who can cross and dribble. Young and willing to move. Watford and Leicester going after our targets.

Edit: replied to wrong message. Talking about Sarr.

Barca's front three of Dembele, Griezmann and Coutinho have now cost almost £350 million.

I think post-Messi times are going to be hard.
