Griezmann not a done deal yet. Atletico claiming they are short 80M

'Atlético Madrid believes that the amount deposited (€120m) is insufficient to meet his rescission clause, since it's obvious that the commitment of the player and Barcelona was closed before the aforementioned clause was reduced from €200m to €120m.'

'Atlético Madrid believes the termination of the contract occurred before the end of last season due to events, acts and demonstrations carried out by the player and that is why we've already started procedures considered appropriate to defend our rights and legitimate interests'

Barcelona announced him. What’s that about?

So they're happy with 80m but want a bigger sum up front. So it'll end up being 65 + 15 or 70 + 10

If reliable - I'd say we're pretty close to completion on this one now.

I dont think Inter can afford 60 mill upfront.

Jeez, this transfer is a mess. Barca are a shady club and this transfer confirms it even more.

70+10 we get Maguire, then Longstaff for 30+5 then we wait to get Fernandes last 40+10. Sign those three and sell Lukaku with no replacement. Rahsford will be main striker with Martial as backup, if Rashford is injured James goes left wing and Greenwood goes first sub.

I'm doing what the the Journalists do and making an educated guess based on what's been released so far.

Think we might struggle if we get no replacement for Lukaku.

That's probably how it went and still stands.

Pl clubs in England voted to end the summer window on the Thursday before the start of the season - on August 9 in 2018, instead of August 31. Because FIFA demands the window must be open for 12 weeks, the window will open around May 17, shortly after the final games of the season on May 13. Clubs will be able to sell players until August 31 but not buy replacements after the deadline of August 9.

Although, in England, transfers between clubs in the same league can take place as soon as the last competitive fixtures for the season have been played, many transfers will not be completed until 1 July because many players' contracts expire on 30 June. International transfers into the English leagues (including the Premier League) cannot be made until the window has opened on 17 May.

An extra £80m?! :lol::lol:

Hardly like it's an insignificant sum. How can they be so far apart in what each other thinks they're owed?

His release clause was €200m until a certain date when it then dropped to €120m. Think Atleti are basically saying Barca waited until after it dropped to sign him but agreed the deal with him when it was still €200m so they're wanting the amount they'd have received if paid at the time it was agreed.

The vote was 15 to 5 with only 14 votes being required at the time to change it.
Since then, 2 of the 15 clubs would like to reverse their vote.
