If you don't think Ole wants a different kind of striker in I dunno what you've been smoking. If we go into next season with Lukaku we're not making top 4 and Ole knows this.

Of course he won't come out and say it, but United aren't particularly fighting to convince Lukaku to stay like Pogba for example. And according to reports we already have a deal for Ben Yedder lined up to replace Lukaku. That deal going through will be the difference between us making top 4 or not.

Your missing the point. It’s not conceivable that Lukaku cannot play for us next season. He’s played enough games under Ole. It would be like Real Madrid being desperate to sell Isco. I’m sure they are happy for him to leave but it’s not a necessity which means they will just let him go for cheap. We don’t need to get rid of him. So any club interested pay the price!!

See what happens when this club keeps making stupid drastic actions and selecting managers with different styles from the one before everytime, our bargaining power for getting rid of Lukaku is weak because it was made obvious that Solskjear doesn't fancy him, this club need to get its act together and build the attack around Lukaku's strengths next season and bring in a competent winger or two because benching him for most of next season in favour of Rashford being our main striker is going to decrease his sell on value even more next summer and then we will have to end up in an even weaker bargaining position to get any where near decent money for him and he will handicap the team setup next next season when we he's called up on considering he doesn't fit the style Solskjear wants to implement.

That’s silly isn’t it. With your logic even if Ole wanted him Inter could still not afford him. So explain to me how we are in a weaker position?

I thought our first offer of £70m was rejected?

Now we have reduced the offer £60m? I get there is bonuses included, but there is no way Leicester accept £10m less than the first offer, no matter what the bonuses are.

That's exactly the kind of thing I expect from Woodward.

So you want to bring in new wingers to suit his style for a season, so that he can maintain his value. What do we do with the wingers once we've sold him? Aren't you just suggesting the same thing you're complaining about?

We need to get shut now, there's decent money being quoted so take the hit on the chin and learn our lesson. No point wasting anther season with a mediocre player just for the sake of £10m or whatever the difference is between our expectations and what Inter are offering.

Fans are slating Inters offer now but i can guarantee they'll be kicking off in a couple of months when he's stinking the place out again.

Simon Stone: Belgium forward Romelu Lukaku looks increasingly likely to be staying at Manchester United.
It had been expected Inter Milan would try and sign Lukaku. However, there has been no bid tabled so far. Even if one were to be, United would want in excess of the £75m they paid Everton for him two years ago....the club would not allow the second most expensive player in their history to leave without making a profit.

Good. I am happy if this is true

Too bad his head isn't slabby enough for United. If he works on his head slabiness, maybe, one day, he can join us.

I know it sucks, buddy.
But given our current status, top players do not want to join us, so we need to bide our time and slowly build back up.
Hopefully, in a few years, we'll be able to attract top talent, again.

Why are you in the transfer tweets thread if you aren’t interested?

My point was his transfer is no more relevant than a league 1 transfer. I am interested in them both. The original poster (might have been you, no idea) was rather tediously moaning about fridge chutney.

Ole said that only the most motivated and determined will stay. Can we just fast forward to December when Nicky Butt will be introduced as our new manager?

I don't blame Solskjaer here. The board is at fault for sabotaging its own decisions but it will always be like that. Nothing has changed off the pitch so it's only logical that nothing will change on it, too.

I think that it is good move. In some way it is how Lyon president dealt with Levy in Ndombele transfer.
Maguire is good but there are better defenders than him. And except us and maybe City, who would be crazy to spend that much money on him? This season or next?
Sounds ridiculous but this time i think that buying club has advantage. Maguire wants to leave, Leicester can earn huge money and buying club can buy other players on that position. So " now i will give you 60, next week 50 and after that i will walk away. Good luck with unhappy player."

100 thousand a week from a small club in England :nervous:.....If the TV bubble burst in England then half the clubs in England will be out of business within a few years....
The TV bubble will burst, no way big clubs will continue to accept getting same shares like smaller ones. The Market is just so.

Not so sure of that. Our first (reported)offer was 70, now it's 60+20

Especially as Bournemouth were utterly skint not that long ago, and had buckets out at games in the lower leagues begging for money!

Really hope Lukaku staying is true.. Genuinely think he'll score more if we didnt defend so shit.. which made us play deep/not attack ..

There is no point letting him go.. stay on.

On the pro side, we've basically not had a functioning attack, and still don't have any right sided threat.
On the against side, he doesn't seem to be able to run anywhere near enough for the high intensity style OGS tried to bring in.

However, there doesn't seem too much genius to letting him go without a very strong replacement. Which when we're so weak at making signings, you wouldn't back us to do.

What a moron! That DT guy posted a 12-min vid announcing the signing of Kieran Tierney to Arsenal saying how happy he was about the signing, how Tierney will fit into the team and slating Celtic and Scottish football in general....only the guy has NOT signed.

DT had already made the video days ago but got his upload dates wrong. Think he's pulled it now.

Genius!

14 goals and 12 assists last season in the Premier League alone, playing for Bournemouth, is far more than average.

He contributed to 26 of Bournemouth’s 56 goals.

If we go on just stats, Lukaku has been a fantastic signing, with his 42 goals and that.

Lukaku is a good goal scorer and I think we should keep him, unless we have a very good replacement in mind. He plays for Man United though so he is expected to do more on the ball, considering the £75m fee and his £250k week salary. His all-round play lets him down.

Wilson is a very good all-round player, on top of the stats. I can see how he has earned £100k per week, as he could easily get a transfer to a bigger club. He’s not average.

The difference being we want to get rid of Lukaku and Leicester and Newcastle don't wanna lose Maguire and Longstaff respectively.

Is this the financial genius of Ed?
Do we really want to get rid of Lukaku? We are wafer-thin upfront, can certainly use Lukaku as plan B.

It's the that which makes him unsuitable to be a United striker.

Personally if we bought a natural right winger both flanks would provide service into the box which would help Lukaku score goals. Looks like yet again we are going to ignore that wing.

So we just need somebody to knock it down for kaku as he's got a head like a 50 pence piece.
