Newcastle are well within their right to demand whatever they want for their players.

They don't just have to roll over for you.

It is their right but they’d sell to Man City for £20m. We get shafted every time in these situations purely because we’re Man Utd. Unjust.

Bullshit as usual.

@Mainoldo he won’t respond to your question. He just scours the forum for any hint of perceived anti-British bias, comes in and does a psycho-analysis of the poster and leaves. Don’t hold your breath.

Hilarious that Newcastle are apparently a “rich club”.

So true

I agree with the bolded bit, (That is from a Leicester fan), but who realistcally would be better/attainable in the current market?
You could pick a random name from the continent, but this is saddled with risk of course (A risk Leicester would have to take should Harry leave and replace him with Soyuncu or Benkovic who are currently on our books)
It is impossible to make a "no risk" argument for such players if people are being honest, as there are examples of such risks at many clubs in the Prem - Mangala, Bailly, (Pick an Arsenal defender of your choice), so its not so easy as people make out. Unless De Ligt somehow happens, options are few.
Ake seems the best fit, talks of 40m though I imagine are optimistic as don`t imagine the Cherries want to lose him anymore than Leicester want to lose Harry.
Agree with your point, it is a gamble we may have to take. I agree there is a risk singing a defender from the continent as there are a number of reasons it could fail. I particularly agree with your point in bold. Think Ake might be a good shout but like you said they probably don't want to get rid of him and may ask for a higher fee than £40m, as it would take at least that much to replace him and there is no guarantee their replacement would be up to the required standard. I've also read that City may ne in fir Ale although I am not sure how much substance there is to this story mate.

I'm pretty sure most journalists have Manchester United have made contact saved as a draft for all new tweets they post.

This is precisely why focusing only on domestic/English young talent is fecking dumb.

Could get 5 Longstaff equivalents from Spain, France, Germany or Italy for that fee.
People mocked that Tifo transfer video I posted a while back because "they're unknown punts in weaker leagues".

Well semi-known punts in our league are ridiculously overpriced.

You make a fair point and I particularly agree with part in bold but although we didn't play to the best of our ability last season I should have scored more than 12 in the league last season mate.
Well he was top goalscorer apart from Pogba (who took all the penalties) in a season where he came back from the world cup 10 stones heavier and had the worst personal season ever and was unloved when Ole took charge and benched. And a as a team we were 6th and useless apart from 2 months. Not bad if you ask me.

Not many clubs have officials openly talking about meetings when no deal seems to be close to agreed, pretty weird one

It's almost as if they have hired a manager who has a history of throwing tantrums and spitting the dummy out if his desired signings aren't brought to him. That wouldn't be why they're happy to be so open and public about it though i'm sure.... (look Antonio, look how hard we tried)

So Leicester sign Perez from Newcastle, a first team regular who scored something like 15 goals for them for 30m, but they value Longstaff, a kid with 9 first team appearances at 50m? Guaranteed that if a small club came in for Longstaff they probably could have got him for 20m of less. Thanks but no thanks Newcastle. They are well within their right to value a player at what ever price they want, but if we paid that much for him I would hope Woodward would be fired the next day...

There was some talk that Perez was a release clause which given the figure and the swiftness of the deal I would tend to believe.

.

Serie A clubs are open and talks most things about the transfers in the media.

feck em, we were 5m apart in valuation for Perisic

Well, the relative difference is probably smaller for Lukaku considering the amounts.

As much as I would like to stick it to the Italians, I rather get rid of Lukaku while we can fetch a fair sum.

I think we win definitely manage to keep pogba, and I also think Lukaku will stay.

In terms of who’s coming in, I’ve got a sinking feeling it will just be Maguire, and that will drag out into Mid-Late August :(
Window closes early in august before the first PL match

Why don't we buy his replacement before we sell him.

Because the only striker we've been linked with has a release clause. Activating it now, would weaken our negotiating position with inter, who is the only club realistically interested in Lukaku.
