While Juve will and have been spending money ever since Pogba left, no way can 430k a week before tax be true for de Ligt.
I edited the calculations
according to the new tax law for new residents in italy, Juve will only need to pay him 16-17 m so he can get 12m net. While for him to get 12 m net in UK or spain the clubs have to pay him 22-23 m euros a year.

I'd like to think that we'll sign more than one player this summer. But so far we've spent the best part of a month trying to negotiate the purchase of a 21 year old right back to no avail.

If one was more prestigious than the other or i felt i could achieve more i would. Juve do seem to be intent on winning the cl though.

Personally if i was de ligt i would have tried to force a move to city. They'd have paid great wages and he would have the perfect coach.
I may be mad, but I see very little difference between Juve and Barca. Both huge prestigious clubs. PSG is obviously a different story but they seem to be out of the running

I swear it seems like we've adopted a small team mentality. Can't buy anyone and no one wants to come here .

The amount of time it took to conclude the Dan James deal. Worried much?

Was done before but his dad dying held it up, understandably.

I think because they're saying Manchester United should never have to sell to buy. But I'd sell Lukaku anyway and add his 75m to the current budget. Greenwood is already a better player.

You cannot seriously think that? Surely.:lol:

City are prepared to exceed the £60m they paid Leicester for Riyad Mahrez last summer and could go beyond the £62.6m they are set to spend on Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodri. But they do have a ceiling, already making it clear to Leicester that they won’t go near the £80m mark. That could still see United have to pay closer to £70m or more to deliver him for Solskjaer.

Im lost for words. 90 mil for Maguire.

I remember the stories about how Nike were going to partially fund Ronaldos move back to Manchester United from Real Madrid, to get him back in a nike kit.
Some people here believe the reports which claimed that Nike is paying a huge chunk of De Jong's wages (60% or so).

I never seen it really, not for the holding role. ‘Ball-winning’ midfielder, maybe, but next to an anchoring player to allow him to press and get stuck in.

Yeah, I don’t think Kante has ever really sat deep though. His two title winning seasons came alongside Drinkwater and Matic who held their position while Kante used his anticipation and athleticism to hunt down the ball.

I think Fosu-Mensah could be used similarly alongside Matic for us replacing Herrera’s work rate and covering up for Pogba switching off.

if Inter were to really make a first offer of €60m for Lukaku, I think the two sides would eventually be able to find an agreement. But I fully expect them to offer something like a loan with an obligation to buy in the future, payable in 75 small installments.

Lets fecking do it. Better than signing no one. Overpaying by at least 30m here but thats better than spunking 30-40m quid on a shite CB or worse going into the season with no new CB. Maguire is a class player not worth that much but he's still class.

Anyone else getting the feeling its going to really kick off with news of movement this week? Last week before Ole and players return to pre season.
