I am thinking the same. I would give Dalot a chance and i would buy new RB for max 20mil, but everything more than that is stupid.

Why I lean towards Meunier. 25m a bit older and can allow dalot develop then ultimately take the spot

Wdit- no more discussion from me here, was just replying. Sorry mods :nervous:

You're going to be so disappointed if that's your expectations. People not being realistic at all.
I said it's the best case scenario! I know we won't get anywhere near that. No point speculating anyway as the media seems equally clueless.

Seems its James(15m), Maguire(60m), AWB(60m) and Fernandes(60m) for the summer. 195m spent and... Would you be happy?

Hell no. If we get a quality right winger, then it would be a good window. How can people think we can go into next season with Lingard and Mata as our right wing options is beyond stupid. We desperately need a quality right winger.

Because most of us agree with you but some of us are also realistic too about our transfer plans.

We aren't going to solve every single problem area in one summer and we have lots of areas to fix. We've also signed a winger already.

I keep saying it but some people on here are setting themselves up for the ultimate disappointment once again.

CB, RB, DM, CM, RW n CF are all areas most of us would like to see improvements. However 6 top quality signings in one summer without CL football is more or less impossible these days. It's going to be done over next 2 seasons.

Our attack is a bigger problem than our central defense.

Even more so if we are trying to play attacking football.

A top cb might be final straw but a top attacker is essential.

No good having a great attack if you can't defend. Look at the difference it's made to Liverpool by improving the back 5. A sold defence will make our current attacking players better. They'll receive the balls in better areas from players who can play out from the back and we'll be able to play more on the front foot without fear of being exposed every time we lose the ball.

It will take several windows to fix our team and starting at the back is sensible.

Liverpools attack was already delivering before they added in defence.

And look at City even. They have played with likes of Otamendi, inconsistent stones, a adapting Laporte etc . And still done well for 2 seasons now thanks to their attacking and domination. Individually our Cb's are not that far off that either, but compare our attackers with theirs.

:lol: So true. Let’s just buy attackers and stick with Smalling, Jones and Young at the back.

We have Bailly who, when fit, can still become very good. Same with Rojo at CB. Plus Lindelof who looked good even last season.

In attack we have some that simply aren't good enough like Lingard, some that are past it like Mata and Sanchez and some we don't know whether they ever will be good enough like Lukaku Rashford and Martial.

Bailly is arguably our worst defender.

There's something very classic United player about Van de Beek.

Can see him being a bit special for us if he signs.

He'd also suit spurs I'm sure, but I really hope we are in for him.

Our defence has been painfully average for years, we’ve had De Gea papering over the cracks for far too long, and now he’s faulting the problem is even more obvious.

We better be in for him, but I think he will end up at Spurs to replace Eriksen

I find this no UCL thing really lunatic. I mean the guy is not even 20, all he should be worried about is playing regularly and that's a certainty at united. I bet our wage offer is not bad either.

United are gonna be in the mix for top 4 next season, so i think he has a chance to create a legacy for himself if he join us and help us to reach the promise land again.

If he want to run after money in a shite league, I guess he is not the leader everyone think he is.

Playing for Barca doesn't constitute 'shite'

Van de Beek, Bruno and Rabiot would soften the Pogba blow a touch.
Thing is, we could sign all 3 of them from the money we get from Pogba sale and we would surely be better team.

I think the sum of the parts would be better, hard to say if we’d have those dominating performances from someone in our team, that pogba has done over the years though.

Apparently Bruno's dad works as a scout for AC Milan. Explains why that Milan journo randomly came out with Bruno news.

Madrid just paid 130m for a 28 year old with one year left on his contract
The mid 2000 style of having the player kick up a fuss to help with a move is over. Time to deal with it.

Yes. He's got what, 2 years + 1 extension left. They can pay up or feck off.

I think the more likely explanation as to why he’s randomly coming out with it is because he’s making it up out of thin air.

I agree that our attackers aren’t up to much but there’s still potential there. Whilst our defence has been a shambles for so long. A great team is built on a great defence like Van Dijk has proven. Rojo is a walking red card and dives in a silly amount of times. Jones isn’t good enough, same as Ashley Young. Bailly could still make it so he will be back up along with Smalling. Which leaves Lindelof being the only centre back who should start. Also I’d give Tuanzebe a go this season.

A new right back and centre back are imperative this season.

Van de Beek choosing Spurs over us would be a bit of a gut punch, imagine talent like him going to them over us a few years ago, really would show what a mess we are.

Yeah.
I've just largley noticed him in this seasons CL and now in the Nations League and I generally like his playing style.
He's got a good understanding of spaces and seems a great link-up player.
What differentiates him from a player like Lingard is Van De Beek seems far more tactically aware with his usage of the ball.
He'd look as good in a City,Barca or Liverpool set-up as he does in Ajax's.

I despair when I read stuff like this. Our defenders are all terrible with the possible exception of Lindelof. We are miles behind City at the back. Have you seen United play over the past three years? We are going nowhere until we get some good defenders. Success always begins at the back.
