It means he's better than them and a team trying to upgrade and play catch up has no room for sentiment. If any of them are legit they'll displace him.

What was the point in buying Dalot if we aren't willing to give him a proper chance at RB? He needs games to develop but won't get them if we sign Wan-Bissaka.

Is AWB going to be a typical transfer saga under Woodward that we have seen in the past where the club ends up not willing to pay the extra bit of fee to get a player and end up stuck with what we already got, in this case Ashley Young as our 1st choice right back again

If we could be certain that AWB would be our starting right back for a decade, we'd probably pony extra up now.
However, like with Shaw there's no guarantees.

I think he is absolute quality and gone below many people's radar at a Leicester side that have lots of quality

I watched him a couple of times and think similar. He's certainly an underrated part of what is a young quality team they're building there.

I think people need to realise that a player is worth what a team will pay.
Ridiculous that people are moaning about spending money on a very good young player yet complain that we're not showing ambition.
We've had our time of buying players like Meunier, that's not exactly worked well, players that feel they have already made it.

That's ridiculous statement. It amounts to claiming that no club has ever paid a lot of money for a player who turned out to be not very good.

De Ligt spoke with Univision TV here in Porto. He said he's going on vacation now and he wants a cold-headed time to think about his future. No clue of which club to choose.

Manchester it is then

"I still do not know, it's all in cod waters, I have to wait. I am calm because I have a contract with Sporting. But it's like I've always said, I have dreams to accomplish, either this or next year, "he began to explain to RTP.
As for a preferred destination, Bruno Fernandes set the parameters.
"It will always depend on what they want for me at the sporting level and the design they have. At this level, the financial part is very similar and being young, I want to win titles, "he concluded.

I know this will be an unpopular opinion..

I have a lot of time for Howson. I don't think he'd throw a tweet like that out if it was baseless.

EDIT - I'd add that he strongly insinuates that he has ties with Lingard and Rashford in particular. As well as some youth players. I personally believe he does have these ties.. and they're currently with Maguire on England duty.

I don't think he got a single thing right last summer, started off by saying Milinkovic-Savic was 100% completed.

I'm not a huge fan of Maguire, but he's significantly better than either Jones or Smalling. So in that basis sign him up.

Sign him up - no ego, strong, reliable defender good age. It's clear that United are being fleeced at every turn in the transfer market. We have money and need to spend. If we can get him at a decent price I'd be delighted. Him and Lindelof would be a decent partnership.

Seems its James(15m), Maguire(60m), AWB(60m) and Fernandes(60m) for the summer. 195m spent and... Would you be happy?

I'd be disappointed at the lack of a defensive midfielder, but tbh it wouldn't be the worst. It'd be something to build on.

Would only be happy if they were all great for us. That’s how Liverpool have worked their way up, layering one quality signing on top of another. If you’re asking is that enough for us to challenge again, certainly not.

At least an upgrade from last season. And that’s right it’s something we can build on.

So no body to actually score goals .

Fernandes scores goals. But improving the foundations goes a long way to supporting the forwards already with us, keeping the pressure on the opponent and feeding the wingers more.

Also I'd add Rabiot on to that list. Hope he comes on a free. Would be a low risk option to suppliment the midfield.
