Selling Lukaku without having a striker lined up would be poor business.

The only way I see us doing that is if we plan on playing Rashford as a striker and adding more proven players to our wing rotation to battle it out with Martial and Lingard for the wide forward spots.

This is utterly ridiculous - James, Longstaff and Collins. Lets hope not all of it is true. What the hell is the point of blooding youngsters when you've got nothing to integrate them into.

What’s the point of playing them alongside more mature players who’s legs have gone like Matic?
Ole is looking long term, I don’t blame him, he’s probably been put on a budget by the owners, so we can’t buy an entire new team of top level players. We get 3 or 4 players for under 50 million and 2 elite players for another 50 million plus, then we’ll actually have players for roles that we lack and will improve the team. The championship players we’re being linked to are performing very well in their league. If they were in Belgium, Holland or France apparently certain fans would be having a wankfest at the prospect of buying them. Longstaff was very very good when he broke into the Newcastle team, took to the league like a duck to water, I’d say he’d be more effective than Matic if he regains that form.

Seems like an easy way out for Woodward! Ole and everything about this club just stinks at the moment! The way things are looking at present, we are going to spend close to 70m on unproven players on low wages who have only 40 games or so under their belt, and thats between them.
Looks like Ole is a yes man that has agreed to Woodward's demands on transfers. Don't you have to have a Jurgen Klopp to follow Liverpool's transfer strategy!
On top of this, De Gea will probably leave. It's all a shambles.

Mate, do you remember fergie sacking off half the team and bringing in a load of young kids? Didn’t turn out too badly. Let it happen and judge it in a year. The galacticos strategy has fallen flat.

Let’s give some youngsters a chance. There’s no pressure on us to win the league next year. So let’s try something and see if it works. We only have to get top 4. The reason we didn’t this year was because of a lack of professional discipline and application. Bringing in hungry and respectful talents will solve that.

Don't think a lot of what we categorize as "deadwood" would want to play in teams that are in the bottom half of the table.
Who cares about what they want. They have been stealing a living since ages. Force them out. Higuain was forced to leave Juve

Are they not youngsters that are ready to make the next step? They're 17, 21, 21 respectively. As someone said in another thread, that potentially could only cost us 47m, in total, for 3 young players. The scouts would have also done their homework on these players, I am sure they will improve our squad. Who else are we getting should be the real question. These feel like supplemental signings.

No, the real question is do you trust us with transfers?

I sure don't.

Theres a difference between signing players from the English 2nd division and top European leagues, though. We're at a point where our next few incomings are required to take us a level or two and I'm not confident signing players from lower leagues will do this.

The business done by Dortmund has been amazing! That's how you work in the transfer market but we're still dithering on Daniel James' fee. I just dont understand how, for a club in such dire need of fresh blood, we can be this lackadaisical.

simple really, we have Woodward organising (I use that term very lightly) our transfer deals.

I have no problem with signing guys like Daniel James and Longstaff for the future, but I do hope we're able to bring in at least a couple of 100m+ rated players in order to compete for the league and Champions League next season.

Don’t understand this! Tuanzebe has been at a higher level all season and Ben Godfrey at Norwich is a far far better prospect even if he would cost more.

I can see the long term value in looking at lower leagues and youth prospects but Collins doesn’t make sense.

I hope they’ve got their scouting right!

Yeah right

Nathan Collins has just turned 18. I imagine Tuanzebe will be with the first team squad while Collins will be with the reserves initially.

I’m afraid that is not a mathematically realistic possibility.

Don’t worry though, we’re going to win the Europa League with Longstuff scoring the winner in extra time.

Stoke play at a higher level than Reserve or U23 though.

I’d imagine he’d need assurances that he’d get games or a loan to a better team than Stoke

Ooops. I meant Europa League obviously. But yeah hopefully we're moving forward on some big signings.

Yes I do remember, very well actually. Different era, with a manager who was a serial winner. And had experience of playing together through the academy. But they also had players like Keane, Cantona, Bruce, pallister etc that also blooded them in. I'm all for young hungry players, but let's not forget, this league is a whole different ball game. The likes of Wolves, Everton, Leicester might overtake us. Is that what is expected of Utd these days? And the fact solskjaer has brainwashed more than half our fans in thinking that the Utd way will get us back! Football is much more tactical than the Utd way.

Is there only Fellani playing out in China now?
Christian Benteke looks likely to leave Crystal Palace this summer after being the subject of a £15 million offer from Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng Taishan.

The forward has been offered a contract worth £8 million a year after tax — he would join up with Marouane Fellaini, his Belgium compatriot, at the club, who are fourth in the league.

So we sign young players for the future and it's Woodward's fault.

We overspend on galactico style players and it's Woodward's fault.

Why don't you all just chill the feck out and judge the window come the end of it?

These championship signings are for squad depth and to add to the U23s and are the easiest type to make.

Just have some patience.

He's 18.... He would t see the first team for 2/3 years.

Collins, Longstaff and James. Shaping up to be quite the summer!

Better than waiting for them to join Leicester and then being quoted £80m in 2 seasons time, we need to get them young and build a quality squad from the ground up.

If we can get De Ligt, Sancho and Felix then great, if not then we're doing exactly the right thing for the first time in many years.
