Jeez, don't these media outlet feel ashamed of just including United's name in every transfer. Getting beyond ridiculous. Transfer season has just begun and we have already been linked to
James
Longstaff
Rice
Collins
AWB
Zaha
Toby
Brazillian Pedro
Rakitic
Icardi
Strootman
Sancho
Koulabily
Maguire
De ligt
Onana
Barca's keeper
Many more I cannot remember

Ridiculous to say the least. And sadly some of the fans blindly believe everything and start abusing the club.

So now Inter allegedly want to give us Perisic and we've been offered Strootman?

Give it 5 years and we'll have Koulibaly's entourage offering him to us for free.

Collins, Longstaff and James, it's like we are preparing to be relegated and building a championship squad. I knew it would get worse before it gets better but ffs this is depressing

James, Collins and Longstaff are just the aperitif before we go balls deep into the real business: De Ligt, Dybala, Fernandes, Sancho, Wan Bissaka. It's going to be a ride.

If that’s three of the alleged five signings, then we are fecked.

It'll be hilarious if the likes of James, Collins and Longstaff have a good season :lol:
This is what we are getting this summer along with AWB for £55m. We are an absolute joke in the transfer market with this current set up in place.

The fact it’s taken us this long to sign Daniel James from the championship proves just how inept we are. I have no expectations that the likes of young, jones, smalling will be moved on either. We will get what we deserve next season.

If Swansea are holding out for an insane 20 million, what do you suggest we do @MUFC OK? Pay it or hold out knowing that Swansea will eventually agree to a much lower amount with add ons?

Spurs sign players from lower leagues at times and are currently better than us...

I'm sure people said the same about the likes of Robertson, Henderson, Delle Alli, Wijnaldum, Mane and plenty of others. These are some smart, young signings. If we didn't buy any of these but other clubs did, we would berate our scouts for foaling to identify young, British talent.

We very much seem to be moving towards a spread approach and get the impression we want a range of incoming players, young, hungry, hard working with maybe a couple of more established talents to start building the club in the image we want.

That doesn't happen by focusing on our first 11 each window. In fact, that's very much how we appear to have tried to fix this problem up to the point. Buy a couple of expensive players, if they don't work out, they drop back in the pecking order and are replaced. The cycle goes on and on and we end up with where we are now.

It's reactive as opposed to proactive. What we're doing now is proactive and appears to be with the bigger picture and future in mind
These are some well regarded young talents, not some chumps who are stealing a living. If we wrap these up early days and progress to a few more signings then it will be an excellent summer and a good start to rebuilding.

You set your own expectations and these will shape how disappointed or happy you are with how things go. I don't want to derail the thread but in short, I'm wanting a 3 year plan to bring us back up to where we need. Rome wasn't built in a day and Liverpool didn't change overnight. They spent a hell of a lot of time trying to get it right and we're laughed at for many of their signings - including Van Dijk. City didn't just turn into what they are at the moment. It's been a fairly long project and signings like Silva, Fernandinho, Kompany, Gundogan and others have been smart signings.

If you want to challenge next year, you'll probably be disappointed. 3 years of steadily building the club with younger, promising, hard working players who are desperate to play for the club and supplementing these with some exciting, high profile players who still tick some of these boxes could see us in a very different position in a few years. Don't forget that this could well coincide with both Liverpool and City needing to replace important players and even managers. Football is cyclical and if we play it right, we could have an excellent squad. Just not in one window.

We should be able to pay it almost immediately and negotiate within a day or two. £15m/£20m is haggling like we are Bournemouth.

I’ve seen no signs that we have capacity to act swiftly in the market which is frankly embarrassing for a club of our stature.

You’d be the shittest CEO in history, you’d be bankrupted in a week.
What a mindless statement. This is Manchester United, are you aware of the financial means we should have at our disposal? It would actually be laughable if a more desirable PL club came in and bought him for £25m tomorrow.

But please do let the club pull wool over your eyes once again, promising the world when in reality we probably have a transfer budget of £100m max and a manager who has convinced us that this is the calibre of player we need.

Fully aware, also aware that we’ll get this done by the end of May, before the Champions League final has even been played. And we’ll do it for a fair fee.

Or... I could be a melodramatic pleb and whine about why it isn’t done yet and expect the club to pay whatever price the seller asks for.

yeah i bet the city and liverpool players are shitting it !

Just calm down, relax. The window has barely opened and you're already crapping yourselves because we're being linked with some promising youngsters. And as if just because a player isn't overly expensive we don't still have to negotiate. Unless you don't mind us massively overpaying again. It's not like anyone is in a hurry either. There's 2,5 months left to do business.

Pleb? You seem like an educated chap. Will be mindful to ignore your opinions in future, moron.

Educated enough to know how business, finances and negotiations work at the most basic level.
In fact, I wouldn’t even call that educated, it’s just common sense.

So I’m a bloke with common sense, and you’re a bloke who’s here losing your shit on the internet because your team hasn’t simply bent over to overpay for a player rather than negotiate for the best deal.

We are in serious trouble if these players is being bought for the first team. And it's not like we have system in place like Liverpool and Tottenham to make some average players look good.

Solskjaer filled the Cardiff squad with mediocre players. Let’s hope history isn’t repeating itself.

I’m all for bringing these youngsters in to develop, but I will be seriously worried if they are seen as three of the four rumoured signings we are making this summer.

We need to make our first 11 stronger and need to do that desperately.

Sorry pal but you’re also on the internet, trying to patronise and throwing out personal insults because you don’t agree. Unless you’re actually the mystery DoF and are actually party to the club’s transfer negotiations?

We have a hell of a lot of work to do this summer I’m sure you can agree, so haggling for weeks over £5m on what should be a squad player is a worrying sign for me.
