I've never understood why any promising young player would sign for a club that doesn't play youth and a manager who doesn't believe in youth either.
That stance is stupid for so many reasons, even more so when Willian has been pretty average all season. They have the opportunity to bed in players in early rounds of the cup, even the Europa League but they buy so many unnecessary players like Drinkwater and Giroud the youngster never have a chance. Fabregas leaves, surely they give Loftus-Cheek his chance? Nope they want another midfielder, truly barmy.

Spurs have been obsessed with signing another attacker for ages (see: Martial for the past few windows). Guess the difference is Martial has played as a striker before whereas Malcom hasn't really shown it.

Looks like the club are focussing on restructuring and are using the rest of the season to judge who's got what it takes and who doesn't. Could see a few players being sold or loaned out this month too. I think it's going to be a busy summer for us.
Eriksen's contract expires in 18 months and so far he's refusing to renew.
Levy won't lose a valuable asset for free so Malcom on a loan + option to buy would be a shrewd bit of business. They get to test drive a potential replacement for a few months and will get a good price because Barcelona are looking to sell. If Eriksen renews or Malcom disappoints they don't have to buy but if he is good and Eriksen refuses to extend then they can cash in.
