David McDonnell: "Marouane Fellaini is set to become the first casualty of Ole Gunnar Solskajer's reign – with Manchester United ready to listen to offers for the midfielder.... AC Milan, Porto and Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande have all identified Fellaini as a transfer target, with United said to want in the region of £15million for the versatile 31-year-old."

Please.

Why would he go there? How has he been this season?
He's been good. I don't understand why Atletico won't just give him two years also. He's still the best defender at the club and one of the best in the world. He's not at his peak anymore but he's hardly dispensable. Maybe they really want to keep Lucas and start pairing him with Giminez next season?

:D

Yeah, he's pretty central to their 'vision'. Problem is they're not opening up cash to spend until the summer.
I've been done in again. I wanted to write pinning. My phone is embarrassing me.:(

Fellaini is a very good player for the right team. I think we might see a few Premier League and European clubs interested for 10-15 million

I remember him scoring a few in the CL. It’s not like Fulham are gonna sign much better.

If Ole can manage to get rid of Fellaini we should build a statue of him next to the Trinity

People seem desperate to get rid of Fellaini - well - he is no Pogba, but if 2 of our central midfielders get injured we are stuck with Fred and Andreas Pereira, and that scares me a lot more than Fellaini

Nah we have Garner and McTominay as well. Principles over practicality in this situation. Fellaini has been a symbol of everything wrong with the club. Need him out. He’s not been terrible overall but I just need to see him away personally.

I know what you mean but do you really think Ole would see it like that?

Well with the amount of game time he’s had, coupled with the stories about him I’d say yes. Ole will be well aware of the general dislike for Fellaini.

Ole is a true legend.

To be honest, it’s no secret that I’m not a biggest fan of Fellaini but it would be a bit stupid of us to let him go at this stage of the season as he’s certainly better than McTominay, we’re then banking on Matic staying fit for the rest of the season. Not sure it’s worth the risk at the moment.

Imagine not keeping Fellaini when we have knockout football coming up. Get rid of him in the summer if we have to, no point in shrinking the squad in January.

Can’t believe we finally agree on something. Ole effect :nervous:

I see the point but at the same time I’ve no time for using him as a tactic if we need a goal. It becomes too tempting and takes away from the good work we would have been doing. Get rid.

To be honest it would be a comical decision to get rid of him in January. He’s doing no harm as a squad option, and we are guaranteed injuries in the second half of the season.

I doubt we'd get any more than £10m.

We're useless as a selling club, whereas you have garbage like Solanke and Arnautovic selling for almost £20m and £35m+ respectively.
We managed to get £22M for Schneiderlin, and Everton gave him wages of £120k. Yeah, we've been bad at selling previously but I doubt other clubs would have been able to get what we got for Schneiderlin after his performances here.

Even if we sell Fellaini without a replacement we would still have: Pogba, Matic, Herrera, Fred, Pereira and McTominay which is six senior midfielders. Not to mention Garner and Gomes who have both been training with the first team and made the odd match day squad in the last month.

Our squad is bloated due to Mourinho's unwillingness to let go of certain under performing players and will have to be cut down sooner or later.

If we are letting Fellaini go, then it's important to get in a replacement, I might be boring people with this but Paredes is gettable, and would be an asset both short and long term (Matic replacement)
